Mini Mittens

These cute mini mittens were some more of my holiday stitching - they were stitched with a free pattern from Catkin and Lillie.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" cream hammer tri-fold card blank
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX Die-namics' die
Catkin and Lillie 'Mini Mittens' cross stitch chart
     14 hpi rustic aida
     DMC threads

I stitched the mittens onto a small piece of rustic aida and set the finished stitching aside.  The aperture in the tri-fold card was slightly too small, so I used the stitched square die to cut the aperture to the right size.  The fabric was trimmed and attached behind the aperture before folding the panel across the inside of the card.

Home

One of my neighbours (the lady who has gifted me a lot of cross stitching items) has decided it's time to move into a care home.  It's been a big decision for her as she's lived in her flat for 50 years, so I've made this cross stitch card for her.  The design was for an anniversary card and the letters should have read LOVE, but I used a modern alphabet to change it to HOME.

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
Catkin & Lillie 'Pots of Love' and FloReen Studio 'Alphabet' charts
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX Die'namics' die
     Rustic 14 count aida
     DMC threads
     Snippet of white matt card

I stitched the design and changed the letters using a modern alphabet to fit inside the flower pots.  I didn't have a rectangle die that was large enough, so used a square die cutting it twice to get the right width for the design.  I then trimmed around the edge of the frame so it was slightly smaller than the card blank.  The fabric was trimmed to fit behind the frame and attached with strong tape before the panel was attached to the card front.

Snippets Gift Tag

This cross stitch parcel was another piece of holiday stitching and used snippets of perforated paper and threads - perfect for making into a gift tag with more card and paper snippets.

To make this tag I used:
     Creative Expressions 'Pierced Tags' die
Catkin & Lillie 'Mini Presents' cross stitch chart
DMC red, green and black threads
Snippets of white card, Wild Rose Studio 'Painted Poinsettia' paper and perforated paper

I attached the paper to the white card and die cut the middle size tag before embossing around the edge.  After stitching the cross stitch present I used a sharp pair of scissors to trim around the stitching and used strong tape to attach the present to the tag.  To finish, I used more oddments of the same red and green threads to attach to the top of the tag.

Happy Holidays

I made this card for the AAA Cards 'Sketch' challenge using some small parcels I had stitched onto perforated paper.

To make this card I used:
     5.5" x 4.25" white matt card blank
Catkin and Lillie 'Mini Presents' cross stitch pattern
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics' die
     Clearly Besotted 'Cheerful Christmas' stamps
     Versafine Onyx Black ink
     Oddments of DMC threads
Snippet of white matt card and perforated paper

I stitched the three small parcels onto snippets of perforated paper and fussy cut around the edges before setting them aside.  I die cut a stitched rectangle from a snippet of white card and placed it into my MISTI.  I laid the parcels onto the panel to see where to position the sentiment stamp.  I removed the parcels and stamped the sentiment with black ink.  The panel was then attached to the front of the card blank with the parcels attached above the sentiment.

Teeny Tiny Notecard

I'm still sorting through all the cross stitch goodies my neighbour gifted me last year and there are more things I'm going to be giving away on a RAK group.  I like to send a small notecard with the packages and have taken inspiration from Sarn who sent me a super cute 2¼" x 2¼" card when I won a Snippet Playground prize last year.

To make this card I used:
2¼" x 2¼" card made from a snippet of white matt card
Catkin and Lillie 'Mini Presents' cross stitch pattern
     Sizzix 'Dots' embossing folder
Snippet of 14 count perforated paper
Pink, green and black DMC threads left over from cross stitch kits (I save thread snippets too!)
Snippet of green paper for the envelope

I trimmed the snippet of white card to make the tiny card blank and embossed the front with dots.  After stitching the mini present I trimmed around the edge of the design and attached it to the front of the card.  I didn't have any tiny envelopes so I used a snippet of green paper and my Crafter's Companion Enveloper (a 99p charity shop find last year) to make an envelope for the card.

Bee Happy

I stitched this design when we were on our last campervan trip - it's a lovely pattern from Catkin and Lillie.  I stitched it on 16hpi aida and changed some of the colours so I could use up oddments of thread.  After finishing the stitching I used a stitched circle die to make a frame and then attached the panel to the card blank.

Make a Wish

I stitched this card with a design by Catkin and Lillie.  After finishing the stitching I trimmed a piece of green textured card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and die cut a square from the centre.  I then attached the stitching to the rear of the frame.
