Happy New Year!  I hope everyone has enjoyed the Christmas holiday and is ready for what will, hopefully, be a better year for all.

To start the New Year on a positive note, I'm giving away a £10.00 gift card for Bumbleberry Papercrafts to one of my followers.  If you would like a chance to win, please leave a comment below before Friday 15 January.

All comments will be put into a pot and a winner drawn at random.  Good Luck!

Blog Candy Coming Soon!

As we're going on holiday on Friday I won't be posting any cards for the next two Wednesdays so will be offering some Blog Candy instead.  There will be three posts on each Wednesday - some of the items are new and some are pre-loved.  If you see an item you would like then leave a 'Yes, please' comment (or similar) in the same post as the giveaway.  It's fine if you would like to be included in the draws for all giveaways, but you must add a comment on each post.

Also, these items are only on offer to my Followers as a thank you for visiting my blog and commenting on my posts.  So please make sure you are, or become, a follower of my blog on Blogger.  If you have a blog and would like to add one of the photos on your sidebar with a link back to my post, that would be lovely but it is not a requirement.

Comments must be left before 08:00 (BST) on Wednesday 17 July.  All comments will be put into a pot and the winners chosen at random before being announced later that day.

Thank You for Being You & Blog Candy too!

On 6 January Di posted Challenge 343 which celebrated her seventh year of running the Snippets Playground after taking over the reins from Jules who set up the challenge and ran it for a year.  To celebrate this occasion Darnell has started a special surprise Blog Hop to thank Di for running this amazing challenge.

My first trip into the playground was on 28 October 2012 with my Patchwork Christmas Tree.  With a growing pile of snippets (I'm sure we all have those!) this soon became one of my favourite challenges. I've never met Di, but feel like I know her through her lovely blog posts - if you've never visited her blog I suggest you pop over now!  This is my 'Thank You' snippets card to Di for being such a great friend to everyone and for running this amazing challenge - thanks Di!

I'm entering this card into the Crafty Calendar Challenge 'Make it Flowery', the Allsorts 'Friends' challenge and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies challenge.  As this card was made from snippets I am, of course, heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Quick Cards 'From the Heart' sentiment stamp
Memory Box 'Crisp Bows' and Wild Rose Studio 'Rose Bunch' dies
Versafine Olympia Green ink
Wink of Stella
Snippets of dark green texture card, orange matt card, Lili of the Valley 'Antebellum' paper and Making Cards magazine 'Landscapes' paper

I trimmed the beige Antebellum paper and stamped the sentiment in the lower corner.  I layered this paper onto dark green card and attached it to the card front.  I die cut the Rose Bunch from dark green card and the flowers from the orange Landscapes paper.  The green die cut was attached to the card and I trimmed the flowers before laying them on top of the green outline.  I attached another snippet of orange paper to orange card to make it thicker and then die cut the Crisp Bow.  I snipped the top of the bow and attached it to the flower stem.  To finish I highlighted the flowers, bow and sentiment with a Wink of Stella.

As well as thanking Di for running the Snippets challenge I would also like to thank my followers for the lovely comments you leave for me, so I have decided to offer some Blog Candy.  I am offering a Spellbinders Borderabilities 'Kaleidoscope' die set - it's perfect for using with snippets!

If you would like a chance to win this die you must:
  • Be or become a follower of my blog on Blogger
  • If you have a blog, add the photo to your sidebar and link back to this post
  • Leave me a comment below before 08:00 (GMT) on Sunday 10 February
A winner will be chosen at random and announced later in the day.

October Rudolph Day and LOTV Art Pad Giveaway!

This is the tenth Rudolph Day of the year and my final image from the Lili of the Valley 'Festive Foliage' Art Pad. I'm also entering Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Traditional Colours, The Merry Christmas Challenge 'Anything Goes + Christmas' and Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

I've enjoyed using this 'Festive Foliage' Art Pad to make quick cards for the Rudolph Challenges and have an Art Pad to give away to one of my followers.  To find out how to win this Art Pad, please scroll to the bottom of this post.

Card blank: 7" x 7" white matt
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Festive Foliage' Art Pad
Card: Dark green matt
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Classic Christmas'
Other: Card Candi 'Vintage Berries Gold', Wink of Stella

I trimmed the red Christmas tree paper, layered it onto green card and attached it to the card front.  I then attached a strip of green Christmas tree paper across the card, ensuring the pattern matched.  I trimmed the pre-coloured Art Pad image, layered it onto green card and attached it to the left side of the card with equal margins on the top, bottom and left side.  To finish I highlighted the Christmas tree baubles with a Wink of Stella and attached three Candi to the top corner using Pinflair glue.

If you would like to win the Lili of the Valley 'Festive Foliage' Art Pad, this is what you must do:
1. Be or become a follower of my blog
2. Add the photo to your sidebar and link back to my blog
3. Leave a comment below before 23:59 GMT on Tuesday 31 October

I will choose a winner at random and publish the details on Wednesday 1 November.

Making Cards Giveaway

I've received my subscription copy of Making Cards Magazine today and they have sent me a duplicate copy of the magazine.  I've spoken to the subscription department and they have told me to keep the extra copy or give it away - so I've chosen the latter option!

If you would like a chance of winning this magazine, please leave me a comment below by 08:00 BST on Tuesday 19 July.   I'll announce the winner later the same day.

New Year Resolutions and Blog Candy

Last year one of my resolutions was to make at least ten Christmas cards each month - I managed to do that every month except July (although overall I achieved my target) and it saved a last minute panic to finish my cards the week before Christmas.  I'm going to do the same this year and will keep a record on my sidebar.  I also want to make my card inserts when I make the cards and not when I want to send them as that took a lot of time with my Christmas cards and was a bit of a chore.  2016 is going to be a thrifty crafting year, so expect to see lots of snippets, freebies and preloved items.

I also thought I would start the New Year with some Blog Candy.

If you would like a chance to win, this is what you must do:
1. Be or become a follower of my blog with Google Friend Connect
2. Add the photo to your sidebar and link back to my blog
2. Leave a comment below before 12:00 GMT on 30 January

I will choose a winner at random from all comments that have been left and will publish the name of the lucky winner on 1 February..

Good luck and have a Happy New Year!
