Hello

I've followed Jane's Lead at the AAA Cards Challenge to make another note card for my card box - this one uses lots of tiny snippets of textured card

To make this card I used:
     C6 white matt card blank
My Favorite Things 'Fishtail Flags' and Altenew 'Simply Hello' dies
Snippets of white matt card and Papermania textured card

I die cut lots of fishtail flags from different colour snippets of textured card using the smallest die.  I attached these to a strip of white card using glue so I had a little 'wriggle room' to line up the strips.  When they had dried I used the largest fishtail flag to cut the edges of the strip.  This panel was then attached to the front of the card blank.  I die cut 'hello' from another snippet of white mat card and attached it to the card using glue for the 'h' and foam pads for the rest of the sentiment so it lay flat across the card.

I am entering the following challenges:
AAA Cards Challenge - Follow Jane's Lead
A Cut Above - Anything Goes with a Die Cut
     Allsorts - Anything Goes
As You Like It Challenge - Simple or Fussy (it's always simple for me, CAS cards with lots of white space are my favourites as I just don't do 'fussy')
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Die cuts/Punches (I have used die cuts)
Love to Scrap - Anything Goes
Simply Clean & Simple - Anything CAS Goes
     Snippets Playground - Challenge 530
(oops, I forgot to take a photo of my snippets!)

To a Deer Friend

I made this tag with my latest charity shop purchase - a cute Rudolph stamp and die set.

To make this card I used:
Practical Publishing 'Festive Friend' stamp and die set
     Creative Expressions 'Pierced Tags' die
     Versafine Onyx Black ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Copics - C-3, E31, E33, E37, R20 & R27
Stampendous Fun Flock - Cotton Ball White
Snippets of white hammer card and white matt card
     Brown baker's twine

I die cut the largest tag from a snippet of white hammer card and embossed the edges.  I placed the tag into my MISTI and used black ink to stamp the sentiment along the lower edge before embossing it with clear embossing powder.  I used black ink to stamp Rudolph and his hat onto a snippet of white matt card.  These were embossed with clear embossing powder before being cut with the coordinating dies.  I coloured Rudolph before attaching him to the tag.  I coloured the hat and attached it to Rudolph's head before applying fun flock on the rim and pompom.

To a Very Special Husband

I made this card for Steve as it's our wedding anniversary today.  I used more hearts from the John Next Door die set I won last year.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white linen card blank
John Next Door 'Honesty Heart' dies
Clearly Besotted 'Happy Birthday All' stamps
     Versafine Crimson Red ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
Snippets of white linen card, red pearlescent card and red mirri card (sorry, I forgot to take a photo of my snippets)

I trimmed a snippet of white linen card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and die cut the stitched heart just above the centre before placing the panel into my MISTI.  I laid the two sentiment stamps onto the panel ensuring they were straight before stamping them with red ink and embossing them with clear embossing powder.  I placed the panel onto a slightly large square of red pearlescent card and placed the stitched heart between the two layers so I could see where to die cut the stitched heart on the backing panel - this was to ensure that the two layers that were to be inlaid would be flat on the front of the card.  I removed the white panel and die cut the stitched heart before layering the two panels and attaching them to the front of the card blank.  I die cut the stitched heart from red mirri and inlaid it into the front of the card, ensuring the edges were flat.  I die cut the fancy heart from red pearlescent card and inlaid in into the front of the card.

I am entering the following challenges:

Honesty Heart

I've made this anniversary card with a heart die I won in a challenge last year and some lovely design papers I won a few weeks ago.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white linen card blank
John Next Door 'Honesty Heart' and Poppy Stamps 'Celebrate' dies
AALL & Create 'Spectrum Splash' papers
Snippets of white linen card and purple pearlescent card.

I trimmed the white linen card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and die cut the floral heart from the centre before layering it onto purple pearlescent card and attaching the panel to the front of the card blank.  I die cut the heart from the 'Spectrum Splash' paper and inlaid the pieces into the front of the card.  To finish I die cut the sentiment from another snippet of purple pearlescent card and attached it to the lower part of the heart.

I am entering the following challenges:
A Cut Above - Anything Goes
As You like It Challenge - Favourite Main Colour (my favourite colour is purple, closely followed by deep pink, these are my favourites both for crafting and my clothes!)
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Love is in the Air
Daisy Chain Challenge - Something New (I have used my new die set and DP papers)
     Pearly Sparkles Challenge - Hearts

Sail Away

I was so pleased when Steve's Christmas card was a Top 7 at the Allsorts Challenge and I was invited to be Guest Designer on the 'For Men or Boys' challenge.  I made this card for a friend's forthcoming birthday.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics' die
Clearly Besotted 'Sail Away' and 'Modern Calligraphy' stamps and coordinating dies
Impression Obsession 'Ocean Border' and Clouds' dies
     Versafine Majestic Blue ink
     Cosmic Shimmer clear embossing powder
     Copics
Snippets of blue textured card, white matt card and pale blue vellum

I cut two pieces of white card slightly smaller than the front of the card and die cut a stitched circle in the centre of both pieces (I used two layers of card so the inlaid scene would lie flat inside the aperture). I layered the panels before attaching a piece of pale blue vellum to the rear of the aperture and attaching the panel to the card front,  I die cut two waves from snippets of blue textured card and die cut the bottom of each with the stitched circle so I could inlay them into the aperture.

I used dark blue ink to stamp the sailing boat onto a snippet of white card.  This was coloured with Copics before being cut with the coordinating die.  I attached a tiny snippet of white card to the back of the sails and then slipped the bottom of the boat between the two waves - the tiny piece of card on the back of the sails made the boat stand out from the vellum background.

I took the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment and masked the 'birthday' before stamping 'happy' onto a snippet of white card and then embossing it with clear embossing powder.  This was die cut with the medium cloud die.  I also die cut a small cloud from another tiny piece of white card.  I stamped 'birthday' onto white card and embossed it before using the coordinating die to cut the sentiment.  I then cut two more sentiments from more snippets of white card - these were trimmed down and attached to the back of the stamped sentiment so it would lie flat across the aperture.   The clouds and 'birthday' were then attached to the card.

I am entering the following challenges:

More Big Birthday Wishes

I was so pleased when my 'Whimsical Flower Arrangement was voted a Top Cut at the Cut It Up Challenge and I was invited to be Guest Designer on a future challenge.  I chose the 'Use Your Favourite Die/Set' challenge and have my used favourite 'go to' die for making male cards - this one is for a neighbour's milestone birthday.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" kraft card blank
My Favorite Things 'Big Birthday Wishes', Memory Box 'Classic Numbers' and Xcut 'Nesting Stars' dies
Snippets of kraft card, red glitter card and cream textured card.

I cut the large sentiment from kraft card and trimmed down each side so it was slightly narrower than the card blank and then attached the panel to the front of the card blank.  I die cut 'BIG' from a snippet of red glitter card and inlaid the letters into the panel.  The rest of the sentiment was die cut from a snippet of cream textured card and inlaid into the panel.  I trimmed two narrow strips of cream textured card and attached them down the side of the panel before trimming the ends.  I die cut two small stars from cream textured card and attached them towards the top of the card using small foam pads.  I die cut a slightly larger star from red glitter card and and '80' from cream textured card.  The numerals were attached to the star which was then attached to the card with a foam pad.

I am entering the following challenges:
A Cut Above - Anything Goes with a Die Cut
Alphabet Challenge - S is for Square (I have used a square card blank)

Eat Drink and Be Merry

I had a rush to finish all my Christmas cards last year, so am determined to make more during the year so the same doesn't happen this December.  This card uses a lovely Clearly Besotted 'Christmas Pudding' stamp and die set - perfect for the current ABC Christmas Challenge 'Y for Yummy'.

To make this card I used:
     4" x 4" white linen card blank
Clearly Besotted 'Christmas Pudding' stamp and coordinating die set
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX Die-namics' die
Versafine Vintage Sepia and Olympia Green ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Red Copic
     Diamond Stickles
     Glossy Accents
     Snippet of white matt card

I used brown ink to stamp the Christmas pudding onto a snippet of white card and used green ink to stamp the holly.  I embossed them with clear embossing powder before cutting them with the coordinating dies.  I embossed a stitched square in the centre of the card before placing the card blank into my MISTI.  I laid the pudding in the middle of the stitched square so I could see where to place the sentiment.  I removed the pudding and stamped the sentiment with brown ink before embossing it with clear embossing powder.  I attached the pudding with a foam pad and applied Diamond Stickles to the top.  The holly berries were coloured with a red Copic and then highlighted with Glossy Accents before being attached to the top of the pudding.

November Rudolph Day

It's the eleventh Rudolph Day of the year and another die cut Christmas card (die cutting is my RD theme this year).  To make this card I used a Creative Dies die that had been a cover gift with a magazine back in 2016 and is still a favourite of mine.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white linen card blank
Creative Dies 'Festive Scene' and Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Standard Circles Large' dies
Snippets of blue pearlescent card, gold mirri card, Marianne Design 'Snow Paper', thin white card and blue paper

I die cut a circle and the Festive Scene from snippets of blue pearlescent card and attached the scene onto the backing circle.  I attached the blue paper onto thin white card (to make it the same thickness as the rest of the card) and then die cut the sky and inlaid this into the scene.  I die cut the snow from 'Snow Paper'  and the windows from gold mirri card.  These pieces were then inlaid into the Festive Scene.  The panel was then attached to the centre of the card blank.

I am entering the following challenges:
A Cut Above - Anything Goes with a Die Cut
     Allsorts - Anything Goes
As You Like It Challenge - Gold, Silver or Glitter (gold is my favourite as I love the warmth it adds to a card.  I'm not a fan of glitter although I do like this 'Snow Paper' to create snowy scenes)

Flourish Reindeer

I love this Flourish Reindeer die - the curly antlers make it perfect for this month's Christmas Kickstart Challenge 'Just Add Antlers'.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Impression Obsession 'Flourish Reindeer' and 'Hills'  dies
Funky Fossil 'Snow is Falling' stencil
     Versamark ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
Snippets of white matt card, broze mirri card and teeny tiny snippet of gold mirri

I used the Versamark ink to stamp the snowflakes onto white matt card before embossing them with clear embossing powder.  The panel was trimmed, layered onto broze mirri card and attached to the card blank. I die cut a hill from another snippet of white card, trimmed it and attached it to the bottom of the card.  I die cut the reindeer from bronze mirri and attached it to the front of the card.  To finish I die cut the reindeer's eye from a snippet of gold mirri and inlaid it.

Christmas Pudding

A friend was telling me how much she loves Christmas pudding, so I thought this Clearly Besotted stamp set would be perfect for her Christmas card.

To make this card I used:
     4" x 4" white linen card blank
Clearly Besotted 'Christmas Pudding' stamp and coordinating die set
Clearly Besotted 'Cheerful Christmas' sentiment stamp
Versafine Vintage Sepia and Olympia Green ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Red Promarker
     Diamond Stickles
     Snippet of white matt card

I used brown ink to stamp the Christmas pudding onto a snippet of white card and used green ink to stamp the holly before embossing them with clear embossing powder.  These were cut then with the coordinating dies.  I placed the card blank into my MISTI with the pudding in the middle so I could see where to place the sentiment.  I removed the pudding and stamped the sentiment with brown ink before embossing it with clear embossing powder.  I attached the pudding with a foam pad and applied Diamond Stickles to the top.  The holly berries were coloured with a red Promarker and the holly was then attached to the top of the pudding.

October Rudolph Day

It's time for the tenth Rudolph Day of the year - just one RD before Christmas!  I've made another die cut Christmas card as die-cutting is my RD theme this year.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white matt card blank
Creative Dies 'Woodland Scene' and My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX Die-namics' dies
Snippets of dark brown pearlescent card, white matt card, gold mirri and light brown swirl paper

I die cut the woodland scene from dark brown pearlescent card and removed the small tree from the bottom of the die as I prefer the scene without it.  I layered the die cut onto a snippet of light brown paper and set it aside.  I used the largest die to cut a square from the snippet of white matt card.  The woodland panel was then layered onto the white square and attached attached to the centre of the card.  To finish I die cut the two largest stars from gold mirri, layered them and attached them above the deer.

I am entering the following challenges:

Another Butterfly Birthday Card

When I stamp and/or emboss card fronts, I usually make an extra one in case I mess up the one I'm working on.  This card uses the second card from when I made my World Cardmaking Day card, although I changed the butterfly to one of my 'old favourites' and added some enamel dots.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Cardmaking Magic 'The Best of Cardmaking Magic' butterfly stamp & coordinating die
     Uniko 'Birthday Wishes' sentiment stamp
Creative Expressions 'Clean and Simple - Zig Zag Border' die
     Versafine Imperial Purple ink
     Yellow and green Promarkers
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Altenew Crystal Clear enamel dots
Snippet of white matt card and white paper

I used the Zig Zag border die to emboss a strip across the top of the card.  I stamped the butterfly onto a snippet of white card using purple ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder before cutting it with the coordinating die.  I then coloured the butterfly with yellow and green Promarkers.  As the colour had leached to the back of the butterfly, I die cut another butterfly from white paper and glued it to the back.  I placed the card into my MISTI and stamped the sentiment with purple ink before embossing it with clear embossing powder.  I shaped the butterfly's wings and attached it to the embossed strip along its body.  To finish I added four clear enamel dots.

Joy, Hope, Peace, Believe, Christmas

I made this card using one of my favourite Christmas tree dies - perfect for making quick CAS cards.

To make this card I used:
     5.5" x 4.25" white hammer card blank
Creative Expressions 'Festive Collection - Christmas Tree Greetings' and My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics' dies
Snippets of green and gold mirri

I used the largest rectangle die to emboss an outline on the front of the card.  I die cut the Christmas tree from green mirri and attached it to the front of the card with Artist-tac.  I then used a tiny snippet of gold mirri to cut the star and inlaid the pieces into the top of the tree.

I am entering the following challenges:
ABC Christmas Challenge - U for Uncluttered

Happy Christmas

I enjoyed using the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch for my birthday card so thought I would use the same sketch for a Christmas card.

To make this card I used:
     C6 white matt card blank
Memory Box 'Traditional Ornament' and 'Lydia Ornament' dies
Woodware 'Delightful Dangles - Christmas Tree' sentiment stamp
     Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Sizzix 'Dots' embossing folder
Snippets of white matt card, dark brown pearlescent card and gold mirri

I trimmed a snippet of white card to a width of 1.5cm and cut it slightly narrower than the card blank before embossing it with the dots embossing folder.  I placed the card blank in my MISTI with the embossed strip on top so I could where where to place the sentiment.  I removed the strip of card and stamped the sentiment with dark brown ink before embossing it with clear embossing powder.  I then attached the embossed strip above the sentiment.  I die cut the Traditional Ornament from dark brown pearlescent card and the Lydia Ornament from gold mirri.  The fancy die cut was embossed before being layered onto the brown ornament before being attached to the embossed strip.

Just Wanted to Say ...

My hairdresser is retiring and selling her business, she's also having a long-awaited operation this month so I've made this card for her and her daughter when I go for my final hair cut with them.

To make this card I used:
     5.5" x 4.25" white matt card blank
Spellbinders Designer Series 'Framed Floral Card Front' & My Favorite Things 'Fishtail Flags' dies
     Hobby Art 'General Greetings' stamp
Versafine Deep Lagoon & Vintage Sepia ink
Snippets of white matt card and Polkadoodles 'Fourini' paper

I used both the floral panel and the frame to cut a snippet of white matt card.  After removing all the small pieces from the panel I attached a snippet of turquoise and pink paper behind the panel before attaching it to the front of the card blank.  I used Deep Lagoon ink to stamp the sentiment onto another snippet of white card, but as it was too bright I stamped it again with brown ink to make the colour a bit deeper.  I then used the fishtail flag die to cut the sentiment, moving the die slightly to make the flag a little shorter.  To finish I attached the sentiment to the card.

August Rudolph Day

For one reason and another I've not done much crafting over the last couple of weeks, although I have been tidying my craft drawers to make room for a lot of cross stitch items I've been gifted.  During my 'sort out' I came across several embossed panels and some die cuts which I had made for cards and not used.  One of the panels and some letters were perfect for making this quick die cut card for Rudolph Day (die cutting is my RD theme this year)

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
Creative Expressions 'Festive Collection - Joy', All Occasion Dies 'Small Poinsettia' and Memory Box 'Mini Holly Leaves' dies
     Xcut 'Swirls' embossing folder
     Snippets of white matt card

The panel had been embossed and I trimmed it around the edges before attaching it to the front of the card.  The letters had been die cut from white card and I then die cut the poinsettia and holly berries from another snippet of white card.  The poinsettias were layered with the holly berries attached to the centre.  I layered two 'J' and two 'Y' letters so they would be more prominent in the centre of the embossed panel.  I placed the letters and poinsettia onto the card to ensure they were evenly spaced before gluing them into place.

Let Your Dreams Take Flight

I wanted to make a tag to follow the theme for this month's Tag along & ATCs 'Travel' challenge but was struggling to find anything travel related then remembered that dreams can take flight!

To make this tag I used:
     Creative Expressions 'Pierced Tags' die
Hot off the Press 'Feathers' stamps and coordinating die
     Versafine Imperial Purple ink
     Dark brown Promarker
Snippets of white and dark purple card, Lili of the Valley 'Antebellum' paper and purple ribbon

I attached the snippet of Antebellum paper to white card and used the largest die to cut the tag.  I placed the tag into my MISTI and used purple ink to stamp the sentiment in the lower corner - stamping a couple of times to get a good depth of colour.  I used purple ink to stamp the feather onto purple card and cut it with the coordinating die.  The feather was then attached above the sentiment.  The purple ribbon was a bit too bright so I coloured it with a dark brown Promarker so it matched the colour of the feather before attaching it to the top of the tag.

I am entering the following challenges:

Yet More Big Birthday Wishes

Another male card using my 'go to' die.  I do love this die as it always looks different when made with different colour card, although I must find another large sentiment die soon!

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" kraft card blank
My Favorite Things 'Big Birthday Wishes' die
Snippets of kraft card, cream textured card and red glitter card

I trimmed the snippet of kraft card so it was slightly wider than the die and cut the large sentiment from the centre before attaching the panel to the front of the card blank.  I die cut 'BIG' from red glitter card and inlaid the letters into the front of the card.  I die cut the rest of the sentiment from cream textured  card and inlaid them.  To finish I trimmed two narrow strips of cream textured card and attached them down each side of the sentiment panel.

July Rudolph Day

It's time for another Rudolph Day and another die cut card (die cutting is my RD theme for this year.).  I nearly didn't have a die cut card as my old Cuttlebug made a loud 'crack' when I was making the card and the bottom roller broke away at one side.  I managed to find someone about 20 miles from me who was selling one on Facebook Marketplace so back to my die cutting!

To make this card I used:
     5.5" x 4.25 white hammer card blank
Memory Box 'Merry Christmas Tree' and My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics' dies
Snippets of dark blue and gold mirri card

I used the largest rectangle die to emboss the front of the card blank and set it aside.  I die cut the 'Merry Christmas Tree' from a snippet of dark blue mirri and snipped the star from the top before attaching it to the card blank.  I then die cut the star from a snippet of gold mirri and attached it to the top of the tree.  Quick and easy and my new Cuttlebug works like a dream which makes me realise my one one was on its last legs!

Love

When I made my Have a Wonderful Birthday card, I embossed an extra panel and decided to make it into an anniversary card.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Lisa Horton 'Pansy Corner' 3D embossing folder
     Impression Obsession 'Love' die
Snippets of white matt card and red pearlescent card

I trimmed the white matt card so it was the same size as the front of the card blank and placed the Pansy Corner embossing folder on top so I could see where to die cut 'Love'.  I removed the folder and cut the sentiment before embossing the Pansy Corner.  The panel was then attached to the front of the card blank.  I die cut 'Love' from a snippet of red pearlescent card as I was originally going to inlay it in red, but decided I didn't like it so I inlaid the white sentiment and the small red heart.  I then die cut another 'Love' from another snippet of white card and attached it to the top.  The two small white hearts from the sentiments were than attached to the card front.

I am entering the following challenges:
A Cut Above - Anything Goes with a Die Cut
