City Crafter Challenge Blog 418 ~ Seaside

Lucille has an inspiration photo for us, and she named the theme Seaside.

That immediately reminded me of my trip to Burano, although it is a lagoon and not seaside, but the inspiration photo for this challenge just make me feel so relaxed and in a vacation mood.

Here's a picture I took when I was in Burano. My camera had a good work out that day, and I picked one of the picture for my layout today....

patterned paper and some of the embellishment die cuts are from one of the kit I had long time ago, I do stamped the flower images from a HERO ARTS stamp set, and the rest of the traveling label are from Kelly Purkey Stamp set....

I used some of my newest favorite Nuvo Jewel Drops on this layout too, can you spot them?

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

First Saturday in May is National Scrapbook Day, how could I not participant? I started scrapbooking way back when I had my first born, and those days, it is not so easy to get supplies in Singapore, so whenever I traveled to Australia, New Zealand or United States, I bought tons of supplies, still remember when we were in Sarasota, Florida one year, my receipt from the scrapbook store there is so long that it is "taller" than me if I place them side by side, my two younger ones were so amused that they want me to take a picture with it!

So..... here is my latest 12x12 layout!

I tried to salvage some of the old photos from the kids album, in these photos, Clare was around a year old....

I used to sing to the kids to put them to sleep, and every time when I sang "You are my Sunshine" to Clare, she would cry, it was so funny!

besides that, she is really my sunshine as she is a happy go lucky girl, happy all the time, till today!

Happy Scrapbooking Day everyone!!!!!

NYC and City Crafter Challenge Blog Week 401 ~ Die Cuts

Last weekend, we flew to New York City.....

every time I am here at Dolce's apartment, I always feel grateful that she is in this great city, living just one block away from all the action - Times Square...

and Central Park is just 10 minutes walk from the apartment...

early Monday morning, Dolce and I took Alfie to the park....

it was 6:30 AM and 37F, brrrrr......

it was cold but it was beautiful, the girls and I used to spent many Sundays at Central Park when we first moved to NYC, the walk brought back a lot of sweet memories....

Alfie Coconut in his winter outfit, running leash-free at Central Park, got to be the cutest sight!

I spent a few days with the two and took so many cute pictures of Alfie!!!!

when I was going to leave, Alfie just had to show that sad puppy face! Awww... hard to leave!

................................

My project today is for the challenge at...

The theme is DIE CUTS, check out challenge details HERE!

I remember my first encounter with die cuts, they are just pre-cut embellishment sold at craft stores.....

whenever I am at the craft stores, I just stock up all those die cuts because you'll never know when you are going to need them... but these days, we all have dies and die cut machine to do our own, I cut them only when I need.....

here's a layout using both store-bought die cuts as well as those I cut at home.
