Take time to really see the beauty of nature - Aspen 2013

Early September, we went to Aspen Colorado.

I spent 2 summers in Aspen 2005 and 2006 while Clare attending Aspen Music Festival and School.
We had lots of beautiful memories there, and I was longing to go back but didn't get a chance until this year.

I was very very excited, I want to go back to see all the familiar things, familiar places after 7 years.

We took a walk at Benedict Tent, since it wasn't summer for the Music Festival, hardly a soul there, the place was peaceful and quiet, we took our time to walk, to smell the flowers, to see the Aspen leaves dance in the breeze, and to listen to the stream.

Everything is so green and luscious

and then we drove to the Music School, castle creek still look the same, and I remember having lunch at the canteen (the brown and green building on the left) with my girls, they were very young then.

Clare and Dolce, 2005

I never get tired of the roaring sound of the creek, Aspen Music School

I remember the bus driver at the Music School would stop and pick berries while waiting for the bus to load up

although I wish to see Aspen in gold and yellow this trip, but the view is great no matter what time of the year, and it gives me a good reason to go back again next year since we are still a tad early this time

There is something about Aspen that feels nostalgic, like Maroon Bell.... always picturesque

I pictured a man climbing the cliff with the moon as his backdrop, he is a dear friend of mine who passed away early 2007

On our way to Denver the next day, we took the scenic route and drove by Independence pass, again, is a place I've been there couple of times, I hiked and loved the time spent in the mountain with crisp, clean air.

Elevation 12,095 feet, this is the continental divide

Dear Aspen,

I'll see you soon!

City Crafter Challenge Blog Week 190 ~ Jingle Bells

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way....

Can you hear them? Christmas is on its way and this week, sweet Charlene brought Jingle Bells to City Crafter Challenge Blog

The challenge is to use BELL/S on your project. I always get my DT work done way ahead, it was around Thanksgiving and I need to wrap this gift so I just go along with the bells theme when I do the gift wrapping.

I used my dies to cut out the leaves, add glitters on one of them and the other one is from packing material, I just used ink pad to add some color to it

add ribbons, twine and bell

that's it, easy and yet make pretty and sweet gift wrap, agree?

Please hop over to City Crafter Challenge Blog and play along with us.

This is the last week we are having Lisette as our Special Guest Star, you gotta to check out her lovely project over at CCCB, plus we have a new designer this week, be sure to check her work too, of course, the awesome projects by the CCCB designers, so hop over right now!

Our Beautiful World Week 25 ~ Cozy

Dolce is home from Paris, this is the first time she met Papi, we had lots of fun last night, and we talked non-stop about her trip overseas, for the past few months, she had been to Rome, Venice, Milan, in Italy, Vatican City (I know, technically is in Rome but it is a country by itself) Seville, Madrid, Barcelona in Spain, Greece, Morocco, London and Paris, oh boy, what a lucky girl she is, to have the opportunity to travel and see the world at age 18, and by the way, she passed her semester with straight As again! I am so proud of my girl.

Ok, today is Sunday, so it is a new word prompt at

Today's word is picked by Ros

COZY/COSY

Is there any word that better described fresh baked bread just came out from the oven?

hmmm..... can you smell it?

ahhhhh..... oooohhhh.....

Ok, the bread is from my oven, yes, but..... I was never good at baking bread, I tried a few times, but me and yeast just can't get along : (

The story behind this lovely loaf is.....

One night, I make a batch of bread, thinking how nice to have fresh baked bread the next morning when we wake up. The next morning, I used half of the dough and followed the instruction faithfully, but.... sigh....
The bread didn't turn out well, that very evening, a friend who visited from New York stopped by our place to have a drink and chat at our backyard, I told him about my bread that didn't turn out right, so with the same dough that I used (I have half of the same dough left), he touched, smelled, and he told me what's the problem, and then he kneed a few minutes, and instantly, the dough just look different

definitely different from what I had last night, but wait, it is the same piece of dough, oh well, my friend is a pastry chef in NYC dahh.....

and then he gives me some instruction, and then next morning

the bread just magically turn out the way it should be, like bread!!!!

Sigh..... if only I know how to bake bread just like him : (

Warm bread in the cold morning, ahhhh... COZY!!!!

Come on and join us
