Pixie Dust Paperie "Snow Shoe" ~ Get Picky Sketch Challenge #2

As you can tell, I am getting back to scrapbooking again, I have been doing more layout, taking part in more scrapbooking challenges than card challenges these days.

Here's another one for

Here's the sketch

And here's my take

I am using Pixie Dust Paperie's November Kit "Snow Shoe" again, we have so many projects lined up all the way to end of the month, and I have so much of the stuff left from the kit, so I thought why not make a another layout .......

These pictures of my girls were taken back in 2004, outside City Hall in Manhattan in the spring.
Look at them, they were so little......

I placed the smaller photo on the Prima journaling card, which you can find in this kit, the advantage of the kit is, you don't have to buy the whole box (30 tags) of this Prima Journaling tag, you are getting all the 6 designs, one of each in the kit, and of course you are paying only for the part you have and not the price of the whole box.

Hop over to GET PICKY and join in the fun, you have till Nov 28 for this challenge

Candy Colors ~ New Challenge Blog

I found this fun challenge Get Picky
Their very first inspiration challenge has this very lovely picture filled with all the candy colors, so yummy!

This gorgeous image is from "Amy Atlas Events"
isn't that the most delicious picture?
and it inspired me to create a candy colors layout

I just love these roses.....
And that Martha Steward border punch, my new toy....

Lots of chipboard from American Crafts

This little thing on the tiny tag was bought many years ago..... just found it when I go through my stash...

Some more chipboards, some more flowers, and also a handmade flowers made up of circles and jewel... doily was misted with tattered angel glimmer mist...

Here comes the banner, CUTE one huh? this is one of the embellishment item included in the Pixie Dust Paperie's November Kit, below the banners are my layers and layers of lace border punch.....

I thought it was a good angle for picture.....

Another great shot (my opinion : )
and that ribbon flower is from Lynnda Hosni, thanks Lynnda, for sending that to me all the way from Australia.

and this is my darling Clare when she was 9 months old.....

Ok.... last picture, sorry again but I just can't help myself....

Let's get shabby - Layout Page

************************************

Another layout with old photos, really really old photos.....
This one is me and my brother

This is for the challenge

challenge #17 is all about "Raiding Your Sewing Boxes"
To create a project using the item in your sewing box - at least 3 noticeable items and PIN has to be one of the item

Now, let me count....
Button is 1 (I have two of them in this layout)
Embriodery thread is 2
Sewing pattern paper is 3

here's the other button with a different color embriodery threads

Here comes the PINS (green/blue round headed pins), I used 3 of them, they are not the fancy handmade pins but real sewing pins from my sewing box, so they are tiny for not having those fancier beads on top,  they are the 4th item from the sewing box

Lace is number 5
See that green color thread, those are the tiny ones in a traveling case I bought while I was in Aspen few years ago, my daughter was there for the Music Festival all summer, 9 weeks without any crafting, I went to Walmart and bought a tiny traveling box filled with threads and needles, and did some hand-sewn items while waiting for my daughter at the music studio, that is item number 6 from my sewing box.

Item # 7 from my sewing box is this little fabric button, the fabric was just a tiny piece of left-over from the patch work

Some more of the sewing pattern paper, I used it to make these flowers

Still trying to practice more on these hand rolled flowers, just love them....

See my new Martha Stewart edge punch, one more to my collection

The kraft journaling spot from HERE!

Ok, I've counted, I used 7 items from my sewing box, just in case you wonder why I did not count that measuring tape (on the bottom right corner) as one, right, that is faux, it is not a real measuring tape but stamped on ribbon.

I just love challenge like this one where I can challenged myself to see how many items from my sewing box I can incorporate into my project, really cool!

Now it is your turn to hop over and play along, the DT's work are really amazing, I love every single one of them, so wait no more, hop over to see it for yourself

This is a layout page I made for

Here's the beautiful sketch

I love the effect of the Utee embossing with that corner

The green crocheted flower is from one of my key chain

Old blue lace I bought like 20 years ago...
I placed it on top of the lightly-colored blue doily, and it was from my swap partner Deb Hickman, she sent it with other beautiful stuff for the Lace and Doily Swap, thanks Deb!

I embossed the chipboard and leave it as it is, no color, no paint, just distressed the edge a bit, and the brilliant idea is from the talented Lauren Bergold, she comes up with the best idea every now and then and I enjoy just reading her post, she is the funniest blogger I've ever know.

I usually scrapbooked my children, but I am not telling you who is this, maybe you wanna guess?

Alright, I know there's a lot of pictures but the 12x12 page is huge, unlike a card, I need a few more pictures to show every corner.

You still have time to join in the fun at scrapbooking competitions, hop over now!

Amazing ~ Baby Dolce

Today I am sharing another layout page, this is made with Dolce's baby picture, and enter for the challenge over at

There are 2 parts for this challenge, first part, you'll have to pick an inspiration photo from the 2 choices, I pick this one (kitchen 2)

And part 2 is a recipe to follow
- one piece of fabric
- two die cut shapes
- three colors from the chosen kitchen

This is my fabric, I don't even know how old is that, it was one small square piece from a stash of a girl friend who left for CA after living 20+ years in New York City

I actually used more than two die cut shape, one is the PTI label die cut

2 is this spellbinders lacy circle die cut that I just bought 2 days ago

I also have the PTI flower die cut which I used to cut the fabric, and make it into a flower

Now to the 3 colors from the kitchen photo, pink is one, I used a lot here, and the green, yellow, and little bit of blue, also the darker pink/red of the roses in that picture, my roses here is kind of the same color too!

Well, this is a monthly challenge, so you still have lots of time to join in the fun, hop over to Let's Get Shabby, there are lots of pretty creation done by the DT too, it is worth visiting!

Getting back to scrapbooking again

I used to scrapbook when my kids were young, and then get into card making, the 12 x12 layout became history, recently, I was inspired by the beautiful layout I've seen on various blogs, I finally dig out all the old photos and started scrapbooking again.

This one is for the challenge over at

There is no sketch required but I am using one of their sketch for the DT call

Here's my take

The challenge is to use 3 different patterned paper from 3 different manufacturer, plus we had to use some old papers, the older the better, not an easy one, but I had lots of fun.

This lilac PP is from K and Co, I bought it when my daughter was little, she is 18 now, this paper must be like 12-13 years old. LOL

The PP for that little tag and the dark purple flower, I think is Karen Foster, as old as the K and Co PP

I love the butterflies, I stitched them with sewing machine
and the bluish purple PP they rest on is KI memories, as old as can be

12 x 12 Scrapbook page is so big, it is just so hard to capture everything without taking lots of pictures

The big butterfly is made up of 2 different PP

The green scalloped green DP is Taylor for Daisy D's, are they still around?

Alright, I only remember to take picture for 3 of the PP, the other 3 that I added later were from scraps, so no picture to show

I even show you the manufacturer of the PP here, LOL!

Alright, if you want to play along, here's the LINK to Scrapbookers Anonymous, they also have a DT call that you might want to consider.

I am off to New York City again, hope I can find time to blog while I am there!
