NYC and City Crafter Challenge Blog Week 401 ~ Die Cuts

Last weekend, we flew to New York City.....

every time I am here at Dolce's apartment, I always feel grateful that she is in this great city, living just one block away from all the action - Times Square...

and Central Park is just 10 minutes walk from the apartment...

early Monday morning, Dolce and I took Alfie to the park....

it was 6:30 AM and 37F, brrrrr......

it was cold but it was beautiful, the girls and I used to spent many Sundays at Central Park when we first moved to NYC, the walk brought back a lot of sweet memories....

Alfie Coconut in his winter outfit, running leash-free at Central Park, got to be the cutest sight!

I spent a few days with the two and took so many cute pictures of Alfie!!!!

when I was going to leave, Alfie just had to show that sad puppy face! Awww... hard to leave!

................................

My project today is for the challenge at...

The theme is DIE CUTS, check out challenge details HERE!

I remember my first encounter with die cuts, they are just pre-cut embellishment sold at craft stores.....

whenever I am at the craft stores, I just stock up all those die cuts because you'll never know when you are going to need them... but these days, we all have dies and die cut machine to do our own, I cut them only when I need.....

here's a layout using both store-bought die cuts as well as those I cut at home.

O'ahu - Did I tell you I LOVE Hawaii?

After spending a few days in Kona, we flew to O'ahu!

Unlike Kona, Honolulu is very crowded, a lot of people everywhere, but we don't really care....

strolling along Waikiki everyday, or go deep into the neighborhood scouting on zillow for prices of the apartments few blocks away from the beach

take a few steps from our hotel to Royal Hawaiian Center for nightly Hawaiian music...

taking Ukulele lesson...

eating Sushi everyday, I mean good Sushi... and I am not the Sushi Connoisseur here, the non-Asian guy is, I am the opposite, I love SPAM!!!!!

so we had to find myself the best Musubi cafe in Honolulu. Spam Musubi is definitely the marriage of American and Japanese..... I love it!

Life was perfect until Saturday morning....

Ok, I got up from bed and get dressed, grabbed my backpack, which I know I have my wallet and passport in there, and then I throw the car keys and house keys into the bag, put on my shoes and off we go, out of the hotel room to the lobby, it was a mess, some people were crying, probably cannot find their loved one, most people followed the hotel staff and went to the basement, DH insisted to stay outdoor, he thought it would be safer, I remember texting my girls back and forth, and then 20 something minutes later......

Seriously? Someone push the wrong button that morning?
I need more "clicks" to change the password for my email account then to sent a missile threat alert to the whole state of Hawaii!!!!! seriously????

after that, I asked DH what did he grab when we first got the alert, guess what? Not his wallet, not his passport, it was his diet mountain dew!!!! LOL!!! : 0
Well, his explanation was, if we get into the shelter, it could be hours, he needs a sip of soda of course, or he would be thirsty! LOL!

Despite the missile scare, we had the nicest vacation ever. Every minute of it was amazing! I loved it!

Before I go, just another card I made a while ago for CCCB that requires Mushrooms, I wasn't happy with this one so I made another one to post for that challenge instead, so tell me what you think about  this one!

Bye for now, have a great weekends everyone.

Well, I travel quite a bit this summer, so I have a lot of photos to scrap, I chosen this one taken in Singapore.....

We visited National Gallery during our stay in Singapore for Yayoi Kusama's exhibit, life is the heart of rainbow. I thought it was a funny picture of me, kind of go along with the wonky polka dots at the background.... LOL!

I noticed recently that the photos I took came out blurry....

most of them are.... sigh...

guess I need a new camera huh? *wink wink*

the flower stamp is one of my new favorite from Altenew, the sequins are from lawn fawn, the rest of the supplies are from my stash....

Springtime in Paris

It is certainly magical to be in Paris in the Spring, the weather is still a little chilly most of the day, but we enjoyed every single moment when we were there.
This is my 3rd trip, unlike the first two, the security is tight everywhere, not just near The Eiffel, almost everywhere you'll have to go through bag check, how sad that the bad and evil are changing the way we live.  I feel extremely sad that this happened to one of my favorite city in the world. Sigh.....

Paris here I come and CCCB #350

It's been a week since I last posted, this is probably the longest gap I have in between posts, LOL! With OBW came to an end, City Crafter Challenge Blog is my only commitment, and now I am only going to blog when I have the time and mood, that way, I could enjoy blogging again and not feeling like a duty or chores.

A lot going on here at home and something exciting is coming....

YES!!!!! I am going to Paris!!!!!

The last two times I was in Paris, it was cold...

2007

That was in November I think, I lost all my photos from previous Europe trip because my laptop crushed, this one is from DH's cell phone, since then, I learn that I should store my folders in two places instead of one.

2013

Although we went to Paris early Spring in 2013, but it was still cold first week of April and there's really isn't much bloom.

Clare got into a International Piano competition in Paris, she is going to her semi-final round 3rd week of April. Springtime in Paris!!!! So hopefully, we can see Paris in bloom this time!

The other exciting news is this time my girl friend from Grafing Germany, together with her husband Augustin is going to Paris to give Clare support too, so I am meeting Ann in Paris, YAY!!!!
Ann and I went to the same high school since we were teenagers, we watched each other children grew from infants to adults, she has been a big fan of Clare, till today, her son Ambros still listening to Clare's first CD she recorded when she was just nine years old. Augustin retired about a year ago, they have been traveling non stop since, the last time we went to Grafing, Augustin had a good time chatting with Clare and has been following Clare on instagram, knowing that Clare is going to Paris in the Spring, they made an effort to join us in April!

Now back to crafting topic...

Here's my project for City Crafter Challenge Blog this week, check out challenge details HERE!

the stitched lines background is one of my favorite background die from MFT

the heart die, sentiment and banner die are all from PTI
