We went to the Kingston Trio's concert again, this is the 2nd time we saw them here in Vegas, they are very very good, it was an enjoyable evening

May 9
Today is Mother's day and I received a bouquet and gift from my son Lione, my son finally got a full time job and able to keep for more than a year, I am so happy for him, I would like that he could come and stay with us 3 months every year but he is getting older, he really needs a full time job rather than part time, although he can't travel now that he has a full time job but I think this is a better choice.

May 11
We sent Papi to a different groomer today because we can't get into our regular one, I don't really like his new cut though, probably not going back to this one again.

May 13

While DH is traveling for work, I stay home and spend some time in my craft room, I made a graduation cap for Papi, he will be wearing this to Clare's graduation at CalArts on Friday.

I baked the Japanese condensed milk bread today, it was soft, fluffy and delicious.

May 14

Today is Dolce's birthday, she is finally 20 years old, it seems like she is in college for a long time but still in her teens, well, even though she is 20, she is still the youngest in college, and just one more year of school, she will be graduating, St John's is now offering her another year to complete her master degree, imagine that, she will only be 21 when she received her MBA.

I made the cap for papi yesterday, today I completed the gown as well. This is what Papi going to wear for Clare's graduation.

and I get a new hair cut today too! too bad I don't have the habit of taking selfie, so I have no photo to show.

I am using the new PL pocket, this one has a fold on the top.

May 15

Today is Clare's graduation at CalArts, we drive to LA with Papi for the special occasion.

Papi was waiting patiently for Clare to come pick him up

Jared is graduating too, we are so happy for both of them, and so very proud too.
Clare received scholarship throughout her 4 years in college, and she also worked as an RA at CalArts for her pocket money, she has become a responsible adult, I am so proud of my Clare Bear!

after the graduation, we went to their apartment to take a look, it was a nice place. We stay there for a night and will be heading to Yosemite National park tomorrow morning.

Project Life 2015 ~ April 1 to 11

It is May, it is time to post my project life for April huh?

April 1

April didn't start well for me, I started to get sick end of March, fever and runny nose, and it stays for 10 days.

and when I am sick, I really craved for food back home, like this one...

April 2

Even I am sick, I still get up to take Papi to the dog park, when he starts showing me the puppy dog face, how could I not?

April 5

We didn't do anything special on Easter, the whole week of my spring break was lying on bed, sigh........

April 6

I finally get to see the doctor today, but by now, I am 70% cured, self-cured without medication.

April 7

My Clare Bear turn 23 today, happy birthday Clare!
And I finally well enough to get back to work!

April 8

 I had lunch with Nancy, my substitute teacher and her friend BeeLee, it was a fun luncheon with girlfriends.

April 10

We went to Barry Manilow's concert this evening.

It was a great concert, the only thing is that we waited one hour and 15 minutes before he came out on stage.

April 11

We took off and drive to Colorado with papi sitting at the back seat all the way!

He is such a good boy!

and we drove home the same night, got home at 2 AM

November 15

Today we went to Frankie Avalon's concert at South Point, one of his famous tune is Venus, but my favorite of his is one from the movie "Grease", Beauty School Dropout.

We came home and discovered that Papi finally break through the gate we put up between the dining area and the living room to prevent him for going under the couch, DH put 4 bricks to hold the gate and managed to keep the gate up for a while, but Papi finally break his way through today, naughty boy Papi, naughty boy.....

November 17

We got news that Dan was in intensive care, so DH leave for Iowa today

My friend and I supposed to sit in for the new adult Chinese/Mandarin class at Asian American Group today but we got the wrong time and the class won't start till evening, there was a fruit carving class going on instead in the afternoon, so we attended that just for fun.

the one on the right is my very first carved radish, not too bad for a beginner huh?

November 19

We went out for dinner this evening and received the bad news that Dan had passed, we came home right away and then made a decision that we are driving to Iowa instead of flying. There are so many reason for doing that, first of all, DH doesn't like to deal with people at the airport and on the plane, that is why he is traveling less and less for work recently, the other reason is that we love traveling in our car instead of have to think what to pack, we just dump everything we think we need into the car, that makes thing easier, the biggest reason is that I can take Papi along with me, our neighbor Diane is no longer a good option since the last trip, we knew that somedays she just came in for like 9 minutes, twice a day, that is too little for Papi, even though we paid her more than we would pay if we sent Papi to a pet hotel, Papi didn't get much time as we wish for and that is sad.

Papi is always a good traveler, he would just sit on my lap or something just next to my feet.

We left home at 10 PM, drove 4 hours and rest for the night at Flagstaff, Arizona.


November 20

We continue to drive through New Mexico and stopped at Los Cuates at Albuquerque for lunch.
Drive through Texas and then stopped for a night at Wichita, Kansas for the our 2nd night.
Papi is very well behaved with all that driving, we let him run a bit whenever we made a stop, and when he is thirsty, I just give him a cup and he would drink from that cup, and then make us laugh by trying to look funny. Whenever we get to a hotel, he would first pee and do his business on the pee pee pad, and he never even dirty any other area in the hotel room

November 21

Today, we drive through Missouri and then Iowa, stopped at Iowa City for DH's favorite pizza.

We finally arrived at Cedar Rapids, Iowa late afternoon. 23 hours of driving, and Papi has been good all the way.

November 22 

It is the funeral of Dan, we are all very very sad.

after the funeral, we want to hang around just in case Marilyn needs any help, she wants to go home and have a rest, so DH and I took Papi to my brother-in-law Steve's house to play with their dog Bailey. It was funny to see how the two met for the first time, Bailey is a big dog but she is a big chicken according to Steve, but we knew that Papi is a bigger chicken, he just cling on to me all the time, and when I put him down on the floor, he would just freeze when Bailey is close. After some time, when Bailey lost interest in Papi and lay down to sleep, Papi start going around Bailey to sniff, as though he was checking if Bailey is still alive, so so funny

November 23

Sunday morning, we went to Marilyn's place and stayed till noon, and then we started heading back home. DH decided to take a different route through Colorado so he could see his daughter Sarah. We drove through Iowa, Nebraska and stopped there for lunch, continue to drive to Denver, Colorado for a night. Just one more day of driving tomorrow! Yay!

November 24

It is such a wrong choice driving through Colorado in November, we were stuck on the road, driving 5 miles an hour due to snow storm near Vail, Co.



our car is made for Vegas weather, it just too dangerous even we drive 5 miles an hour on icy roads

the scenery outside is beautiful though

my baby is sleeping soundly, it is cold so I wrapped him up with a big towel, he seems very comfortable on my lap, just like a baby

I am so glad I bought this flask form Target, it is so good that keeps the water warm in the flask for nearly 24 hours, so I have hot water almost all the way in the car.

by the time we reached Mesa and Grand Junction, Colorado, DH is in such bad mood that he decided not to stop, the Colorado route supposed to be 2 hours shorter than the southern route we took on our way to Iowa, but because of the snow storm and icy roads, we were delayed 3 hours instead, he was so pissed at himself making the bad decision and that we will be home much later then we planned, we skip seeing Sarah and drive straight home. 

we finally got home near 11 PM, ahhhh.... good to be back to Las Vegas!

I tried to bake raisin bread today and only realized that I do not have bread flour, I had to substitute it with regular flour and cake flour, it turn out good though.
We are both missing my brother-in-law Dan today, it has been weeks since he passed, but we are still thinking about him a lot : (

December 3

I had a bad dream last night, that reminded me that I need to cherish the love ones that are still by my side even more.

Everyday is a blessing!

I finally work on my christmas cards and gifts list this evening.

December 4

It is raining today in Las Vegas, Papi and I went for our weekly walk, it was fun to walk Papi in the rain.

Finally, the tree and Christmas decor is up today!

Papi hasn't been eating well, he is a picky eater and eats only when he is very hungry, even though we never give him table food at all, he still never finish his bowl of bowl every meal, so I decided to change the kind of food I give him, well... this is a lot moist then the dry food he had, he LOVES it and finish it up in seconds

We went to Burton Cumming's concert tonight, he is the lead singer of GUESS WHO, even though it is not the kind of music I would listen to, but I had to admit that it was a good concert

I went shopping and get Papi's his christmas present today.
I also mixed Papi's regular dry food with the moist food, guess what, he only picked out all the moist one and leave the dry ones in the bowl! : (

December 8

All the christmas cards and gifts are packed, I am waiting to get ink so I could print labels.

December 9

I do some fried doughnuts today, it was great, hubby likes the coconut topping and I like the sugar ones.

December 10

I started painting our dining room today, when we bought the house, every wall is just plain white, hubby hates it, over the years, I painted my girls' room, the guest room, and finally now the dining room. Because my body ached so much after the last time, I tell myself not to rush to finish and allow myself 2-3 days to complete the work, but guess what, I still did it in a day, from 12 pm to 6 pm, what I do is go really slow, do a bit of stretching and exercise along the way, and my arms and body didn't really feel that bad this time.
