LESSology Challenge 34 ~ Laundry Day

Today's project is for

the wall decal I bought was meant to be a tree with birds

but then the real thing inside the box was so small that I can't possibly use as TREE, so I decided to make them into tree branches instead

and now I am left with all these black birds.....

I am going to make good use of them for my next project - a piece of wall art for the laundry room.
My canvas is 12" x 24"

and then lots of scraps.... includes these lovelies from catalogs......

Lots of Gesso, paint, mist on the canvas, of course moulding paste too, next is to dig out all those left-overs alphabets, as you can see, it is not always easy (see! I am missing letter R)

well, since I am going to cover them with fabric scraps, it really doesn't matter, any thick chipboard piece could easily do the job

now the wall art is ready, I better go dig out the real paint and paint the laundry room

You'll get a chance to win this Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiment 12x12 paper collection.

So come play along with us

City Crafter Challenge Blog Week 168 ~ Dress it up

This week at City Crafter Challenge Blog, Ros is our lovely host. She is challenging us to take any ordinary item and turn it into a beautiful project.

Dress it Up!

When Clare came back for summer break, we went thrifting together, she picked up this item and asked me to make her a beautiful jewelry box

the box cost only 1.50, in good condition and it is clean, just that we don't really like that Mr. Santa is delivering fish instead of presents... LOL!

as you can see, the fun started with paint, gesso, moulding gel....

and of course there were paper, printed images and masking involved in this project

I divided the inside into 3 section so Clare could organized her jewelry

come join us this week at

You really need to hop over to see the beautiful projects from the team, especially our Guest Star Ira, her project is just Stunning!

City Crafter Challenge Blog Week #69- Do-ya-Doodle

Do-ya-doodle???? Sounds fun????
Oh yes, this week at City Crafter Challenge Blog, Linda has a fun theme for us, she wants to see some hand doodling on your project, any project is fine, card, layout, ATC, art journal, as long as you do a bit of hand doodling, so come on and join in the fun!

I started a Mixed Media Art Journal class in May, we are allowed to have 3 months time to log in and watch the video, and I haven't finish doing that, see, that is how bad I am at things like that.
Anyway, this is the 2nd page of my 3 Hearts Journal (when am I going to finish this journal, I wonder.....)

This ART makes me HAPPY.....

a little bit of masking,

a little bit of stamping, playing with paints and water colors...

a bit of stenciling, and image transferring.....

and a lot of doodling....

it does make me HAPPY!!!

noticed I need to have the date and place written on every page? with the speed I am going, I don't know when and where am I going to finish this art journal, my long term plan in this life is to live in Paris, Japan and Thailand for at least 6 months each, so this art journal might finish on the other part of the world.

Alright, now hop over to City Crafter to see the other lovely work by our GD and DT

GD - Juls
DT - Linda, Cheryl and Ros

Pixie Dust Paperie is our sponsor this week, and there is a special discount code for CCCB readers, so hop over and take a look!

Three Hearts Art Journal page 1 - The Artist in Me!

My Three Hearts Art Journal

page 1

"The Artist in ME"

I stared the Mixed Media Art Workshop with Christy Tomlinson weeks ago, and just completed my week 1 assignment, 28 videos...
presenting to you today, page 1 of my Three Hearts Art Journal

one precious lesson I learn from those 28 videos - get rid of that perfectionist in me

since young, I am the "color within the line" kind of girl, I like my "art" and other stuff in life to be organized, neat and "within the line", you know what I mean?

everything has to be in order, and I tried very hard to be "the best"

when life gets tougher, and when the numbers in my age gets larger, I learn to be
not so perfect
I learn not to use
I SHOULD
and I learn that
there is no mistake in ART

hope to share with you, more of my Art Journal now that I am going into week 2 of the workshop

City Crafter Challenge Blog Week #59 ~ Back to Basics

This week at City Crafter Challenge Blog, Ros picked a lovely inspiration photo

and a super fun theme

Back to Basics

to use paint AND cardboard on your project

fun huh?

I bought this book at thrift store 2 months ago

I was excited because I had something brewing in my mind, came home and showed it to my husband my "good find" for 50 cents, he said "Oh wow, that is a good book, I've read that and loved it"

uh oh....... hmmmmm.... should I go ahead and "ruin" this? Because what I had in mind wasn't about reading but rather uh... painting......

Well, I was going to do a Paris quote book, I started 2 pages and decided that I need to take a class and learn all the basics, so I signed up for a Mixed Media Art Course with Christy Tomlinson, I just started the class few days ago and had watched 12 out of 28 videos for week 1 assignment, but since this week's theme is calling to me so I decided to show you part of my Paris Quote Book today

before my supplies arrived, the watercolor paint is what I used as base
I also tear a piece of cardboard from all my shipping boxes and cut a heart out of it

so here is my Paris Quote Book page 3

In my heart.....

there is a room for Paris......

Since I already show you page 3, I don't mind showing you page 1 of my Paris Quote Book as well

Page 1 - "Paris is always a good idea" ~ Audrey Hepburn

most of the stuff are really bits and pieces from my "scraps mug"

and page 2 is a quote by Ernest Hemingway

"There are only two places we could live happy: at home and in Paris"

I lost all my Europe trips photos one and a half years ago when my old Macbook quit on me, so what's remain in terms of photos are really limited, they are in bad quality for prints as what I stored in my old I-phone is all I have right now.... : (

before I pick up all the things I need to learn about Mixed Media Art, the Paris Quote Book is actually a practice page for me....

I am not sure how long is going to take to finish this book, maybe a year or two, but for now, maybe you want to hop over to City Crafter Challenge Blog to see what our fabulous DT had create for you, and this week, we had a prize from Pixie Dust Paperie, hop right over and join in the fun!!!!
