TOTALLY GORJUSS - NOT SQUARE

Hi Everyone

Firstly I need to apologise for my lack of commenting; I have been having horrible problems with blogger and the 'comments' section over the last couple of weeks, (even though everything else on there seemed to be working fine), so much so I had to get one of our IT bods at work to finally sort it out for me which he did today - thank you Rich - you are a lifesaver and I hope you enjoy your bottle of wine!

So I will be getting round to see you all over the next few days - I have been looking I just haven't been able to comment - weird :os - but thank you all for your comments - you really are the best.

I would like to say a big "HELLO" to my new follower - thank you - I'm very flattered that you have chosen to follow my work :o)

It's Saturday again (where did the week go too?) and that means it's challenge time over at Totally Gorjuss and this week the theme is "Not Square" and our super generous sponsor is The Hobby House.

Now I have to admit, I really struggled with this challenge as everything I seem to make is square so I decided to make the square a little bit bigger at the sides and made a rectangle - ha ha ha ;o)

Here is the full card:

I've had this fab stamp from Sugar Nellie for quite some time but just never got around to inking her - a bit like all the other rubber stamps sat in my cupboard un-inked - bad Hazel!  I keep telling myself that I will rectify this and I will use the stamps I have bought before buying any others, but as always, I end up seeing some stamps that 'I just have to have' and the cycle continues!

The recipe for the card is as follows:

Stamp:  Sugar Nellie - Fifi Goes Shopping
Papers:  Carta Bella - Winter Fun
Big Snowflake Die:  Cheery Lynn - Snowflowers Set 2
Small Snowflake Die:  Cheery Lynn - Snowflakes
Corner Die:  Whimsy - Corner Die Set
Banner Die:  Die-Namics - Fishtail Flags Stax
Border Die:  Doohickey - Mini Zig Zag & Scalloped Lace
Sentiment Stamp:  Papertrey Ink - Signature Christmas

The image has been coloured with Copics:

Skin:  E21 E00 E000 / R20 R30 (cheeks)
Hair:  E27 E25 E35 E34
Jacket, Hat and Doggie Jumper:  BG78 BG75 BG18 BG72 / N0 (shading)
Boots:  BG78 BG75 BG18 BG72 / N7 N5 N3
Presents and Bags:  BG78 BG75 BG18 BG72 / N7 N6 N5 N4 N3 / B01 BG000 BG0000 /
E43 E42 E41 E40 / N1 (shading)
Dog:  E35 E34 E31 E30

I have outlined the image with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink
The papers have been edged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink
I have used absolutely oodles of Glamour Dust on her hat, jacket, boots and doggie jumper and all over the snowflakes but as usual you can't really see it on the picture due to my rubbish photography skills!

If you like the scalloped die there is a whopping 40% discount off it - and it comes with another border die too - click HERE to go and have a look - what a bargain!

One final picture where you can see I have copied the layout through to the inside of the card:

And that's it.

Thanks for stopping by and thank you for all your lovely comments.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Take care

Toodle Pip

Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 92 - Sketch

Good Morning and a happy Saturday to you all.

It's that time of the week for the new Totally Gorjuss challenge where this week all you need to do is follow this sketch:

This week's challenge is sponsored by the fabulous Joanna Sheen so get busy making those cards and get them posted to be in with a chance to win a £10 voucher for her store. The DT ladies have been hard at work with this sketch so do make sure you go and check out their fantastic creations here.

Here is the card that I created:

The Recipe for the card is:

Stamp: Sugar Nellie "Fragile Beauty"
Papers: Memory Box "Gossamer" from Quixotic Paperie
Sentiment Stamp: Raindrop Echo Sentiments "Friendship Ticket Sentiments" from My Mum's Craft Shop
Flowers: From my stash
Ribbon: From my stash
Butterflies: From The Hobby House

I've coloured the image with Copics as follows:

Skin: E21 E00 E000 R20 R30
Hair: E47 E57 E34
Top: YG11 RV10 RV00 RV000
Belt, Butterflies & Bow: RV10 RV00 RV000
Trousers: E27 E25 E23
Toad Stools: R27 R24 R22 E42 E40
Outline & Shading: W5 W3 W1 W0 Blender Pen

I have also used Cool Grey 90% Prismacolor Pencil to add a little shading and everything (including the ribbon) has been edged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I did say in my last post that I have discovered a nice new little technique that I am going to use over and over again which is edging ribbon with distress inks like this:

Such a pretty effect and really tones in well with the card. You will also spot my faux stitching (again!) - I seem to be going through some kind of phase with this but I just think it looks pretty and as you know - I cannot use a sewing machine!

A little lookie at the lovely flowers which I have edged with Star Dust Stickles:

Here is a picture of the butterfly that I have covered in Tim Holtz Picket Fence Crackle Paint followed by another dose of Star Dust Stickles:

And one final picture (before I bore you all silly) of the inside of the card where I have used the same sketch and papers - as always it awaits its verse which I personalise for whoever I send the card too.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend whatever you are doing and thank you so much for popping by - as always any comments are really appreciated.

Toodle Pip and take care.
