don't forget to be aWEsome

Good evening! I am a bit late sharing my project for the sketch challenge at  Crafts 4 Eternity this week. Sorry!

Here is the sketch:

I have used the sketch to complete a cover on a large Tim Holtz Collection Folio.

Not loving the black elastic wrapping these albums. A bit poor quality I think. They look like they would go baggy quickly. I think I will swap this out with something more pretty before the entire album is finished.

The paper collection I have used is My Mind's Eye ~ Find Your Wings and Fly: Up and Away

I just happened to have received this order and was unpacking it, when I thought those chipboard arrows would work perfect for this sketch. And so it fell into place.

In the spirit of the funfair circus theme that runs through these papers, the image I have added is: Magnolia ~ Little Trumpety Elephant with Bow, coloured with copics and I added some stickles.

I have completed most of the inside of the folio, but not quite all. So you will need to wait for another post to see that, in it's entirety, once I've finished.

Here is a sneak peek. It is getting very chunky.

These albums are my new love. I have completed one large one but not yet blogged. This will be the second one to finish. I've also started a few others! Hopefully I can complete them soon!

best of British

Good morning! It has been a while since I was here. I have had a friend visit from USA and I have taken her on a whirlwind tour of London, Edinburgh and Paris. Hopefully she will be safely home, by the time this is published.

This is a welcome card that I made for my friend and it is also my DT entry for the best of British challenge that we have this week at Crafts 4 Eternity.

What could be more British than clouds and rain? I die cut the clouds from a Magnolia Doohickey cloud die and the lamp post a Magnolia Paris Night Doohickey.

Papers: Bo Bunny Anthem.
Images: Magnolia ~ London Tilda, Vintage Phone Booth and Stone Path. All coloured with copics.

The tiny flowers were made with a Martha Stewart punch.

I also decorated the inside. With some cats from the Magnolia Paris Night Doohickey.

And Magnolia Lovely Umbrella Doohickey.

now we are 7

Good morning to you! It's been a while since I was here. I've started many projects, but not managed to finish any until now. Things have been a bit busy.

Today at Crafts 4 Eternity, we have a sketch for you.

So, what better way than to come back with a Magnolia card.

I wanted to make this A5 size, so I struggled a bit with trying to fit in with the sketch, having just coloured up quite a large Tilda and not thinking about the final design! So, I have used a little artistic licence to squish it all in and hope the challenge police aren't after me.

Papers: My Mind's Eye ~ The Sweetest Thing.
Bling: Webster's Pages
Butterfly: Prima

I've got an extra little strip going down the right hand side, which isn't part of the sketch. This is because I cut the flowery paper down to size, but I had meant to cut a different paper! Rather than throw it away, I decided to cover up the join!

Image: Tilda with Hawaiian Flower, coloured with copics.

And look! The sun is shining! I have shadow on my card. Happy days :)

Thank you for looking.

I can't wait to see how you interpret the sketch.

my favourite creations from 2013

Hello. I used to do this when I first started blogging, doing a year in review of my favourite posts from that year. But one year I stopped and I never did it again. Although each year end, I do think about it. I'm a bit of a don't look back person, but always look forward, what happened, happened, let's not dwell on it, just look to the future.

Anyway, maybe I had a bad year, the year that I decided to stop. So now, I think I will have my 2013 year in review. I am writing this before I have selected my pieces, so even I am intrigued as to what I will come up with! Hold tight! Also I like to select one piece from each month, so this is what I will do.

January:

I think January belonged to Isabella. Difficult to colour, but I love the softness and vintageness of the entire piece and the diecut detail. Check her out: HERE.

February:

This was a commission for a 50th birthday album and had to feature cats. I had soooo much fun with this. Check it out HERE.

March:

This was difficult, as I made a few pieces I liked this month. But I chose this one as it was the first time EVER that I had done a white on white theme. Loved how it turned out, but still haven't done one since! This was a journal, which you can check out HERE.

April:

This was no contest. A sweet 6th birthday card, made for a dear sweet girl I know. Check it out HERE.

May:

Dreams are renewable. I remember wanting to create lots of layers and this is my favourite La Blanche stamp. Used several times now. Check it out HERE.

June:

Where flowers bloom. I don't know. Bright, sunny colours do it for me everytime! Check out the dimension HERE.

July:

Well it seems I lost my mojo for a while, as I had only one posting in July. Fortunately it is one I like and I think worthy of a mention here. I made a box for holding recipe cards. Still love it!

August:

Frantaged to the hilt, but I love THIS.

September:

OK. This was the time I really got into Sizzix dies. Made this cute wallhanging, with a little notepad tucked inside. Check it out HERE:

October:

Hmmm, once again a difficult choice. However, I went with my Sizzix love at the time and the birdhouse I made. I love birdhouses, real or imagined.

November:

November was my most prolific month of the year! I made a few things that I like, but this mixed media collage is my absolute favourite and I'm not sure that I could ever bear to be parted from it. For those who don't follow me regularly, mixed media was a medium that I started to dabble in, in 2013 and this was a piece that I created which I still love. Check it out HERE.

December:

Well I end the year with another mixed media piece, which I love. Expect to see MORE in 2014. I am still learning and still loving it, so who knows where it will go. Check this piece out HERE.

you are my heart

Good morning once again! Today at Everybody Art Challenge, the challenge is HEART.

santa claus is coming to town

Good morning! Friday at last and a new challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity where the theme is CHRISTMAS!

So today I have made another mixed media collage incorporating a picture. It has a bit of a Bruce Springsteen feel to it, I can picture Bruce roaring up in this chariot!

So my background is all kinds of stuff, papers and paints and doilies. I'm really loving using the distress paints at the moment for these collages, they are so vibrant in colour.

The trees I cut from a Magnolia die.

The santa in his car is cut from Pink Paislee ~ Father Christmas papers.

cherished girl

Good morning! This week at Everybody Art Challenge, we have a brown and pink colour theme.

I've used some really old papers from the first My Mind's Eye ~ Lost & Found collection, which are sparkly and glittery.

The cute image is Magnolia ~ Tilda with Winter Flowers coloured with copics and some added stickles.

The chipboard sentiment is also by My Mind's Eye.

deer autumn

Good morning! Today I am sharing with you, my project for the AUTUMN challenge at Everybody Art Challenge.

Papers: Graphic 45 ~ Mother Goose. I've used the 8x8 and the 6x6.

My image is Magnolia ~ Tilda with Sunflower an oldie but goodie. Coloured with copics and added some stickles.

Again, I am into the Tim Holtz Distress Glitter. I've used mainly Clear Rock Candy but on the die-cut that Tilda is standing, I have used Mustard Seed. I first stamped with a Magnolia ~ Sunflower stamp. You can just see the outline if you look carefully.

Die-cut layers: Spellbinders ~ Nestabilities 5 x 7 Elegant Labels 4, Nestabilities Labels Four and Grand Nestabilities Grand Labels Four.

The deer (oops or reindeer!) is a Sizzix Tim Holtz ~ Reindeer Flight die.

More close ups. Caught when the sun was shining, so it shows the layers better.

put on your party dress

Good morning! Today at Crafts 4 Eternity we have a sketch theme.

Here is a birthday card I made, for a sweet little 8 year old that I know.

The girl for whom the card was made is called Rosie and this is spelled out on the banner and I used roses card stock from Magnolia. The banner was created with a Magnolia ~ Cloud and banner die.

I've vintaged this with distress ink and distress glitter.

The cute little image is Magnolia ~ Big Ice Cream coloured with copics.

Die cuts used around the image are: Spellbinders ~ Timeless Rectangle.

Again, I've used lots of Tim Holtz diress glitter ~ clear rock candy.

The Magnolia tag is sitting in a little white paper bag and contains the number 8.

The title tag was created with a double layer of the Spellbinders ~ Nested Lacey Pennants and the sentiment is from an Odd Girl stamp.
