a hundred hearts would be too few

Good morning! Today I am coming at you from Crafts 4 Eternity where our challenge theme this week is Valentine.

I have made a mixed media canvas.

I first coloured my canvas with three rows of pink gelatos, dividing my canvas into thirds and starting with the lightest shade at the top and the darkest at the bottom.

I then created some texture using different stencils and some texture paste which picked up some of the surrounding colour. Flowers are by Prima.

My heart is a Spellbinders ~ Love Heart die double layered. Then I have my cupid, diecut from the Tim Holtz ~ Love Struck Bigz die. I diecut all from Little Yellow Bicycle ~ Sweet Love collection papers. Everything is edged with silver patina wax.

My heart and arrow are My Mind's Eye Dimensional Stickers popped up on pop dots. The arrow wasn't the right colour, so I rubbed some silver wax patina over it.

My words are cut from the papers. I added some silver wax patina around the edges and then I added some rub ons to blend them in.

today is the day I fell in love

Hi there! I can't believe it's been two months since I blogged!

I have been making a few things, so will be share them with you as soon as I can get them photographed and written up!

Today I have a little KaiserCraft album to share, which I have altered up, all ready for a few photos to be added.

Papers: Little Yellow Bicycle ~ Love Letters. Love how these work so well together.

I have finished the edges of each letter with a silver wax patina.

Lots of buttons with silver Kreinik thread.

Notice the little word stickers at the foot of each letter. Together they spell out 'today is the day I fell in love'.

Thank you for looking!

where flowers bloom

Hello and happy Friday! We have a fabby colour challenge over at Crafts 4 Eternity today.
These colours really did help brighten my day. The weather is so dreary and depressing at the moment, as I'm sure you all know!
Papers: Little Yellow Bicycle ~ Elizabeth Park.
I went a bit crazy with the frantage on this one. It wasn't only the card that got covered in glitter.
I made the flowers from a Martha Stewart punch, which I bought years ago and only used once before.
Image: Magnolia ~ Forget Me Not Tilda. Isn't she cute?

I made a pull out card. Love those cute birds.

And where flowers bloom.

It's the first time I've used this Tim Holtz ~ Butterfly die, another one I've had forever.

reindeer tag

I made this tag using left over pieces from this project.

The papers are Little Yellow Bicycle ~ Christmas Delight

I was inspired by the reindeer on the papers to use my Sizzix Tim Holtz ~ Reindeer Flight die to make this reindeer. I inked the edges of the deer and papers with black soot distress ink and added some glimmer mist to the reindeer as I 'have to' glimmer mist everything at the moment. Love the stuff!

I didn't notice until I looked at the photos that I've manage to break his leg. Oops!! I will fix that by wrapping a piece of black ribbon around it.

Here's the back of the tag, also glimmer misted. Love this stuff. Did I say that already?

There's a bit of distressing going on.

I added some fibres to hang out the top of the tag and this must have been the quickest thing I ever made!!

I'm going to pop this in at the following challenges:
If the Shoe Fits: 'feeling blue'.

Stampin' B's Design Team: 'feature an animal in a diecut'.

Paperminutes: 'bookmark or tag'.

P.S. Looking forward to Tim's 12 tags of Christmas ... hope he's doing it again this year and hope I manage more than the 3 I did last year!

walking in a winter wonderland

Today we have another fabulous challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity

We are required to use the sketch (which I turned on its side) AND add a Christmas tree.

I am also entering this into the following challenges:

'sweet treat': Cupcake Craft Challenges
'Christmas': Stampavie & More
'die cutting/punches': A Spoon Full of Sugar
'punches & die cuts': Simon Says
'main colour blue': Theme Thursday
'transparent element': Cute Card Thursday (top layer of tree)
'chipboard': If the Show Fits (bottom layer of tree)
'claret & blue': Something Completely Different
'winter wonderland': Fussy & Fancy Friday
'punches': Creative Card Crew
'G is for glitter': ABC Challenge

For my piece I have used Little Yellow Bicycle ~ Christmas Delight papers. So pretty and I love the extra thick cardstock weight. Thick and luxuriant. I hate when our fave paper manufacturers substitute ultra flimsy papers for the same cardstock price, but not so with these LYB papers. I have used Frosty Flurries, Reindeer Crossing and Starry Night.

For the tree I used a Tattered Angel ~ Glimmer Chip Tree which I glitzed with Glimmer Glam before adding a matching Glimmer Glass tree with glossy accents. I spritzed on some glimmer mists and added more glimmer glam! WOW! That was a mouthful!

I just love this sweet Magnolia - Gingerbread Tilda. I coloured her with copics and added some stickles.

On the edges of the snowflake papers, I brushed some Glimmer Glam. Just wished it came with its own applicator so I don't have to keep washing it up!  Otherwise I love it!

The ric rac ribbon is felt ribbon which I also brushed with Glimmer Glam. WOW! Love the transformation that gave!

Added some diecut snowflakes and there you have it!

live love laugh

Challenges:

'Freestyle (anything you like)': A Spoon Full of Sugar.

'Butterflies': Quixotic Challenges.

'Flowers': Cute Card Thursday.

'Summer in winter': Dutch Dare.

'A butterfly, a flower and a die-cut': Stampin' B's Design Team. (I have assumed my acrylic cover is a die-cut.)

I have made a chipboard front and back cover and also added a thick acrylic cover. You can see the effect better in this photo:

I have applied an orange butterfly and white scroll rub-on to the front cover. The 'live love laugh' is also a rub-on applied to the inner chipboard cover.

Papers and rub-ons: Little Yellow Bicycle ~ Delightful Collection.

It might seem quite plain but I didn't want to cover those beautiful papers up. I've rounded the edges with my round-it-all.

Image: Magnolia ~ Tilda as Butterfly, coloured with copics and stickles added.

I created her antennae with beading wire and just stuck them to the back of the image. It seemed a much more neater effect than cutting round the card antennae.

You can't see them on the other side of the acrylic either, as I stamped the image onto another piece of cardstock, which I cut out and stuck down on the other side of the acrylic. You can just see a glimpse of this in the 4th photo above.

trick or treat

This Halloween project came together like a breeze, unlike some of the things I've made!

I am entering it into six challenges.

I am using this week's sketch at Sketch and Stash, combined with new papers and an old SN stamp. The beauty of this challenge is that you can place your sentiments and embellishments wherever you please.

At Theme Thursday the theme is 'wings' ~ I have bat wings!

Saturday Spotlight have their very first challenge which is to 'make something Halloween without using a halloween image'. I used a Gorjuss Girl for mine.

This week's challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar is 'Halloween'.

Creative Card Crew have 'Celebration' as a theme and that includes Halloween.

Finally, the challenge at ABC Challenge is 'E is for embossing'. I have embossed my ghost.

I used Bo Bunny papers, Boo Crew ~ Stripe, both sides!

I added a strip of black lace held in place with a photo anchor and a skull brad by Little Yellow Bicycle.

The image is a Gorjuss Girl, I coloured her with my copics.

The ghost, bat and date images are also by LYB. I embossed the ghost onto black cardstock.

The Trick or Treat sentiment is by Pink Paislee.

hocus pocus ... purple witch

I couldn't resist playing with the LYB papers some more before putting them away.

I also wanted to start using some of my old Hallowe'en Tildas. I bought them last year but too late for Hallowe'en and never got a chance to use them.

This entry is for TWO challenges.

I used this week's sketch over at Friday Sketchers.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge want to see the corners of our creations decorated. Mine are a mixture of inked or painted or both!

Here is what I came up with (click any photo for a better view).
The papers used are from the Little Yellow Bicycle ~ Frightful collection. I used Candy Dots, Bats & Jacks and Orange Weathered.
All of the edges have been inked, either orange or black. The words 'hocus pocus' were stickers from the same LYB collection. I mounted them onto chipboard and inked the edges.

The image is Magnolia ~ Tilda with Spiderweb and I coloured her with my copics.

I painted a black frame around her with crackle paint and then inked the edges with orange ink.
I made the pumpkins using stamps from the same LYB collection.

bats and bones

Today I've gone all hallowe'en and this entry is for FOUR challenges.

I used this weeks sketch at Card Patterns replacing the bow in the sketch with a bat brad.

The ABC Challenge is 'anything goes with the added option of animals' ~ I have bats.

At Theme Thursday the challenge is to 'use the colour orange as your main colour'.

Lots to Do has a free theme, where you can create whatever you like.

Here is my card:

This was a breeze to put together with a bit of layering, distressing, sewing and embossing.

The papers that I used are from the Little Yellow Bicycle ~ Frightful collection and I used Pumpkin Motif, Bats in the Belfry and Orange Dots.

The image is a Tim Holtz mini stamp called X-Ray which I embossed onto the cardstock.
The metal brad bat at the bottom right corner of this picture is by LYB.

sugar nellie mother's day

I needed another Mother's Day card and that is the theme of this week's challenge over at The Sugar Bowl.

Here is my card:

All cardstock used is from the LYB ~ Delightful Collection. The sentiment is Basic Grey. The flowers are a mixture of Prima and Bazzill.

The image is Sugar Nellie ~ Gorjuss Girl: Sent with love. Don't even talk to me about that pink dress!!! I coloured her up with my Copics.
