lemon cream

Hello! This week at Crafts 4 Eternity the challenge is to feature some kind of weaving.

Well I promise you that I finished this long before I saw Michele's post, which also features a tutorial (I was just late getting my photos done). However, it looks like we used the same base technique. Go check out Michele's tutorial in the link above to see how to do it.

I initially wasn't going to do anything too fancy. I was just going to do the weaving and leave it at that for a recipe cover. But then I added mod podge to it and then it didn't look right to be left just plain.

Papers: October Afternoon ~ Modern Homemaker

So then I randomly painted on a cake mixer using a Bo Bunny stamp. You might just be able to make it out.

Then I stamped on some mugs and sugar bowls and a bit of texture with some texture paste.

I made the gloves by drawing a template and fiddling with it until I was happy with it and then cutting it out. The same with the heart, as I didn't have a die that would work. The lemon cream recipe bit was left over scraps from the paper I had used for the weaving.

I used Faber-Castell Pitt Pens around the edges of the papers. Then used rub-ons to decorate, apart from the dashed lines around the gloves, which I drew on.

Finally, I added letter stickers for the 'recipes' and mod podged the whole cover again.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

apples mini album

Hello! Today I have a cute little mini album to show you for our Crafts 4 Eternity challenge, which is to share projects with a food theme or element. My food is apples!

The papers I used for this are ancient, but the cover papers with those little chicks on are so cute, I just couldn't bear to cover them up. So, instead, I added a pocket with a pull out tag and flower charm.

Papers: October Afternoon Cherry Hill.

I've added some pom pom trim to the spine.

A peek into the top.

I have made six pockets, decorated each side with paper and made a pull out photo mat for each pocket, which has also been decorated on each side with the October Afternoon papers.

All the pages are held in place with ribbon which has been threaded through to the front cover.

Thank you for looking.

always laugh

Good morning! Today we have an anything goes challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity.

I decided to make a hanging box with a little notebook inside.

For the box I have used the Sizzix ~ Hanging Bag die. So cute!

I have decorated the front with Sizzix Tim Holtz ~ Bird Cage die. I've added a Prima vintage trinket to hang from the centre of the cage.

Papers: October Afternoon using some scraps I had.

Here is the notebook which I made to go inside.

tulipmania

Hello there, and here we are arriving at Friday again, with another fun challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity. This week, we have a fabby citrus sorbet colour challenge, using these colours as a guide.

I really had fun with this challenge, these colours are so me! Couldn't resist to add a hint of earthy brown with it.

I even dug out my Magnolia stamps again, and used this Magnolia ~ Tilda with Big Tulip Pot and coloured her with copics with added stickles.

I made some butterflies with my Sizzix: Tim Holtz ~ Butterfly die and added some beaded lace ribbon.

I coloured some plain tulip flowers with my Dylusions ink sprays to match the papers.

Papers: October Afternoon ~ Fly A Kite

♥ you.

Hello there and happy Monday! Today we have a yellow and grey colour scheme challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenges.

This is particularly large - A4 size. I love working with this size but find it impossible to take a decent picture of the whole thing. Plus I have a new camera and I haven't read the instruction manual. I need to though, desperately.

This project is full of tags. I layered the bottom of each with my <u>Martha Stewart ~ Doily
punch ...

... and decorated each one simply.

I love these gorgeous papers and the colour combo: October Afternoon ~ Sidewalk and Farmhouse.

I got inky with my main tag, with distress inks and water, then I stamped Lili of the Valley ~ Ride with Me</u> image onto it, before embellishing.

Can you tell I'm trying to use up my buttons and brads? I have gazillions of the things!

♥ you.

witch's brew

Hello there! It's been a while since I've been here. Just been very busy with work and stuff! This week at Crafts 4 Eternity we have a halloween theme, so join us with your spooky projects!

Here is my piece:

I just dug into my box of halloween papers for this, so have used a mixture of Basic Grey, October Afternoon and Moxxie.

Love these papers.

happy birthday mum

Today's challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity is an easy one. Use three shades of blue!

This is a card that I made for my mother for her birthday. If you look carefully, you will see three different shades of blue. Click on the pictures to see some better detailed images.

The papers that I've used are October Afternoon ~ Report Card: Bus Route, Science Fair and Hot Lunch! On one side these papers are schooly themed but I prefer the pretty patterns on the other side which could be used for just about anything.

The image is an oldie which I've never inked up before Magnolia ~ Tilda with Rolling Pin. She kind of suited my Mother! (hope she doesn't read this!) I coloured her with copics and added lots of stickles.

For the background to Tilda, I stamped out the Magnolia Recipe Card stamp a few times on different pieces of October Afternoon paper, inked up the edges, added some stickles and layered them. I used some little letter stickers for the word 'mum' and edged them with stickles too.

Then I decided she needed another background behind the recipe card as the papers clashed a bit, so I cut out a piece of card in the shape of a rectangle and die cut the edges with my Magnolia ~Doohickey Die: Tilda's Lace Border. I was please that it all kind of lined up at the end of it!

The 'happy birthday' sentiment is a rub-on.

I am going to pop this in at the following challenges:

'glitter': Created By Hand and Stampavie & More
'birthday': Anonyme Scrappere
'my favourite things': Just Magnolia (Magnolias, copics, stickles, pretty papers)
'flowers': Fairy Tale Challenge
'bling it on': By the Cute & Girly

1 two, buckle my shoe

My entry today is for six challenges.
I have used this week's sketch at Mojo Monday.

The challenge at Stamp Something is 'cute and fuzzy' ~ I think this qualifies.

At Daring Cardmakers the challenge is to 'use your latest craft punch'. I have used two new ones for the first time.

At One Stop Craft Challenge the challenge is to use 'newspaper or text'. I have used text.

Saturday Spotlight has a challenge to 'use words'.

Finally, My Time To Craft has a challenge to 'use scallops', which I have done with one of my punches.

All papers used are from the October Afternoon ~ Ducks In A Row collection, as is the wild card.

I have used my Martha Stewart scallop punch on the vertical edge and my baby feet punch next to the image.

The image is Pregnant Willow by Elisabeth Bell. I coloured her with my copics.

Thank you for looking.

Edited to add: So pleased to learn that I made the Top 5 with this at Stamp Something. Thanks for voting for me!

baking cakes clipboard notebook

This is my entry for just two competitions.

I have used this week's sketch at Just Magnolia. At least I have as far as I am able to with the clipboard. I have used some artistic licence as far as the flowers are concerned.

This is how my clipboard notebook started out, before I started messing.

I am also entering this into the challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar where the theme is 'kitchen/cooking'.

You'll need to click on the photos to see them a bit more clearly.

All papers are from the October Afternoon ~ Cherry Hill collection. These papers caused me no end of frustration. Having coloured Tilda to match the pink and blue papers, I then had no end of difficulty in tieing it into the red. The jury is still out on that one.

I have used three Magnolia stamps:

~ Baking Tilda with wooden spoon

~ Shelf with napkins

~ Cake

I coloured them all with my copics.

Thank you for looking.
