Twinsie Tuesdays - Ruffian Manicure

Good morning, ladies! Today our Twinsie Tuesday theme was to rock a ruffian manicure. This is my first ruffian manicure, since I'm not a big fan of the look. I chose two Essie polishes to work with since I'm such a huge fan of the amount of control the brush provides. I used Mint Mojito as the base and Going Incognito as the second coat. This was much easier to pull off then I had originally expected. The color difference/gap reminds me of acrylics that need a fill in.  :0X

Make sure you check out the ruffian manicures that my twinsies are rocking!

Shimmer Polish - Kelly

Happy Friday! To kick off the weekend I have another Shimmer Polish to share with you today. This one is Kelly, and it's utterly amazing. Kelly is made up of medium green and gold glitter in a clear base. The formula was easy to work with and it was completely opaque in two coats. The glitter laid flat as well, even before I topped it off with Seche Vite. This may be my favorite Shimmer Polish yet!

You can purchase Shimmer Polish on Etsy, here. You can also check out all of the polishes offered by Shimmer Polish on her website, www.ShimmyShimmer.com. They are full size bottles that retail for $12.00 each.

This polish was provided for my honest review.

Twinsie Tuesday - Christmas Inspired Mani (China Glaze Glittering Garland)

Good morning and a very Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate Christmas!! I hope everyone gets a few good things, enjoys their time with their family and that everyone stays safe. Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is a Christmas inspired mani. Sadly, I've only worn two holiday polishes this entire season. My favorite Christmas polish is China Glaze Glittering Garland, so I decided to feature it in this post. Glittering Garland is a medium green packed with glass flecks. The formula is great and opaque in two coats. This may be one of the most stunning polishes I own....

In addition to todays post, we have a very special announcement. Jamie from Polish, Please will be joining the Twinsie Tuesday girls starting today. Make sure you check her out her blog and give her a warm welcome!!

Essie - Sew Psyched

Good morning, all! I hope everyone had a good weekend, and Happy Chanukah to any Jewish readers! I've been digging through my Essie stash non-stop lately and falling back in love with some of my all time favorites. I wasn't feeling the bright or the dark shades last week so I picked out Essie's Sew Psyched. This is one of my favorite Essie polishes ever. I like to call this dusty army green, and I'm slightly obsessed with it. The Essie website calls this cashmere-soft sage pewter, but dusty army green just seems so bad ass in my opinion. It is fully opaque in two coats and the formula is easy to work with. I used Seche Vite in the photos below....

I hope everyone has a good Monday  :)

Twinsie Tuesday - Halloween Themed Mani (China Glaze Zombie Zest)

Good Morning! Hopefully everyone in the Northeast is fairing well today. Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is a Halloween themed polish. China Glaze has put out some amazing Halloween collections and I have a lot of favorites. One of my absolute favorites is Zombie Zest because it's so ugly it's beautiful! Zombie Zest is a green polish with strong yellow tones and swampy green glass flecks. The formula wasn't my favorite, I found it to be pretty sheer and watery and I needed three coats to get it fully opaque. This is a stunner and it's completely unique in my stash. The photos below show three coats of Zombie Zest and a coat of Seche Vite.

Essie - Stylenomics

Hi all, happy Friday! Super quick post for today. I'm trying to turn over a new leaf and be in bed by midnight each night  so that I get more than 6 hours of sleep (which is super hard for me, I haven't yet been successful once this week). Today's post is all about Essie Stylenomics, which is the namesake from the Fall 2012 Stylenomics collection. Stylenomics is a dark hunter green creme. Depending on the lighting, at first glance sometimes it looks black and other times it looks green. The formula was amazing and super easy to work with. I used two coats of Stylenomics and topped it with a coat of Seche Vite....

Should I mention that I've had this on since Monday and I'm not ready to change it yet? ;)
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Twinsie Tuesday - Fugly Polish (China Glaze Trendsetter)

Good morning! I hope that everyone had a fantastic Labor Day weekend! I was on the go all weekend and I have yet to catch up on blogs and my internet gossip sites. Today's theme was a fugly polish, which to me means pick a polish that is freakin' ugly! Right off the bat I knew which one I was picking for today....China Glaze Trendsetter.

China Glaze Trendsetter is one of those ugly, yet super unique polishes that I love to hate and hate to love. It's an olive green mixed with mustard yellow and some beautiful shimmer. Before buying this polish I went back and forth with whether or not I would ever wear this or if I could even pull this off on my skin tone. The selling point for me was that it was on the clearance rack at Sally's for $1.99. This has sat in my China Glaze drawer untried for months.

As quickly as I put this polish on is as quickly as I took it off. I felt like this just didn't work on me. The shimmer is gorgeous, but the color itself reminds me of the mushed peas in Gerber baby food. The photos below show three coats of Trendsetter with no top coat....

Yikes! I can assure you that this looks even worse in person on me  :0X

Be sure to check out the other Twinsies today, I'm curious to see if anyone else picked this polish...

Twinsie Tuesday - Glass Fleck Polish

Good Morning! I apologize in advance for my absence and this super quick post. I'm out of town with no internet access, so this was scheduled in advance at the last minute. This week's theme is a glassfleck polish. I chose Zoya Ivanka for this one, since it's one my favorite glass flecks. The swatches below show two coats of Zoya Ivanka topped with 1 coat of Out the Door.....

Twinsie Tuesday - Crackle Polish (OPI Shatter & Milani Dress Maker)

Good Morning! Today's Twinsie Tuesday topic is a crackle polish. I haven't played with my OPI Shatter in months! I've long banned this polish, using the excuse that this trend is over. When forced to pull this out last night I remembered how much I really enjoyed Shatter. I remember going on the wild goose chase to find it and I've easily went through at least 1 of my 3 bottles. The one thing I remember about Shatter is that it's a mani saver for lazy days. My manicure was not fresh in the least, but once layered with Shatter you can't see the imperfections. Perfect! lol

For the photos below I used 3 coats of Milani Dress Maker, 1 coat of Shatter and 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Jessica Iridescent Eye

Happppy Friday! It's my absolute favorite day of the work week lol. I'm so ready for this weekend, it's not even funny. In addition to it being almost 100 degrees in NY the last two days I'm ready to really relax.

Today I have swatches of Jessica Iridescent Eye for you. I'm pretty sure everyone is pretty familiar with this one by now. This is another dupe for Chanel Peridot. I'm happy that we're able to get such great dupes of some of the higher end brands. I wish someone would dupe Chanel Ciel Du Nuit....

The photos below show two coats of Iridescent Eye and a coat of Seche Vite. I picked this up from Ninja Polish for $6.00.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Twinsie Tuesday: Go To Polish (In This Case....Nail Venturous Floam!!)

Well helloooo :)  Today's Twinsie Tuesday topic is our go to polish/mani. The first polish that came to mind was OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. I spent an entire winter a few years back wearing LPAD. I think I have about 5-6 bottles of LPAD, and about 3 bottles of Lincoln Park After Midnight in my stash. I then realized that I can't call it my go to mani, since I haven't worn it in about a year. I have so many untried that I am trying to get to, that I sometimes feel guilty going back to some of my older polishes.

I decided to pick a polish I'm currently obsessed with, since it's my current go to mani. As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I recently got Nail Venturous Floam from NinjaPolish.com. Since I got this polish in the mail about two weeks ago, I have worn this three times! Everytime it chipped I would redo the nail. I finally changed my mani last night. Floam is pure amazing in a nail polish bottle. It's tiny tiny green, blue and yellow glitter particles in a clear base.  It dries pretty matte. Even with a coat of Seche Vite it didn't give off the normal shine and it would. Formula is a little thick but not difficult to work with, you just have to go a little slower. It was fully opaque in two coats.

You can get Floam from www.NinjaPolish.com. Nail Venturous also has an Etsy shop, but she is currently closed. From what I've read you have to do quite a bit of stalking to get your hands on a bottle too. (I'm dying to get my hands on a bottle of Humble Bee!!)
