NOTW: OPI Danke-Shiny Red

Hey all! Yup - you read that title right! I had a suuuuper lazy week as far as polishing my nails go and I wore this polish just one day short of a week. I'm going to call it my 'nail of the week' anyway  ;)    This one is Danke-Shiny Red from the new OPI Germany collection. Danke-Shiny Red is a medium toned red with a slight metallic finish. It's not completely metallic, it has a touch of shimmer to it as well. The formula was fantastic and it was completely opaque in two coats. The color here is not completely color accurate. It showed up on my camera as having a touch of orange and I couldn't get it 100% accurate. The photos below show two coats of Danke-Shiny Red and a coat of Seche Vite.

I hope everyone has a good Monday. Does anyone watch the Real Housewives of New Jersey? I'm obsessed with that show (and Melissa Gorga's makeup) and last night was a really good/sad ending to the season. I can't wait until next season.

Jessica Iridescent Eye

Happppy Friday! It's my absolute favorite day of the work week lol. I'm so ready for this weekend, it's not even funny. In addition to it being almost 100 degrees in NY the last two days I'm ready to really relax.

Today I have swatches of Jessica Iridescent Eye for you. I'm pretty sure everyone is pretty familiar with this one by now. This is another dupe for Chanel Peridot. I'm happy that we're able to get such great dupes of some of the higher end brands. I wish someone would dupe Chanel Ciel Du Nuit....

The photos below show two coats of Iridescent Eye and a coat of Seche Vite. I picked this up from Ninja Polish for $6.00.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Holiday Nails Day # 3. China Glaze Luna makes me feel like an Ice Queen!

Happy Monday! Only a day until Hannukah begins and only a few days until Christmas. Where did December go?!?! Anyway, I'm still on my holiday mani kick but I wanted something to break up the green and reds for you guys, so I turned to a blue. Don't worry, I'll be back with a green tomorrow lol. When I think Christmas, I think snow. While we haven't had any up here in New York yet, it's awfully cold! (Just 17 degrees last night)

I chose to wear China Glaze's Luna and I instantly felt like the Queen of Ice. I had been thinking about selling this untried, but I'm sure glad I didn't because it's absolutely gorgeous. Luna has an icy blue/silver base mixed with multi-colored glitter pieces, as well as some silver micro-glitter mixed in. The base on this polish isn't 100% frosted or 100% metallic, it's somewhere in the middle. The formula was really easy to work with, and this was opaque in two coats. Under the lighting in my office, the glitter pieces seemed to dance. It would have been ideal to take a photo there, but I don't think anyone would have understood and I rather avoid the awkward moment that would occur if someone caught me in action lol.

The photos below are indoors. I'm pretty sure all of these are with no flash. It's 2 coats of Luna and a coat of Seche Vite.

This polish makes me want to sing the chorus of Cold as Ice by Foreigner lol

Let's start the holiday swatches! Zoya Holly

Happy Friday! I've been in the 'bah humbug' mood since early December now, and the holidays are right around the corner. Since I can't seem to get into it, I decided to start some holiday swatches. I found about 15+ Christmas related polishes that have gone untried, so I've got more than enough to chose from. From this post forward (till Christmas, maybe a day or so after) will be holiday related colors.

First up is Zoya Holly from their recent Gems and Jewels collection. From the first swatches I saw of this, I knew I had to have it. I only had 3 Zoya until their promos last week. Zoya has really caught my eye with their new collections lately, so I jumped on two promos last week.

Zoya Holly may be the best green I own. It's an emerald green, but it's bright and gives off that lit from within feeling. It has a metallic finish but there seems to be some shimmer mixed in there. I liked it in the bottle, and completely fell in love once it was on my nails. Formula was opaque and easy to work with.

The photos below show two coats of Zoya Holly and a coat of Seche Vite. Photos are indoors with and without flash. The more color accurate of the photos are the photos with flash. I need to figure out a lighting situation for my room (or, someone needs to build me a polish room stat! lol)

Please excuse the random dog hair stuck to my pinky.....I have a pomeranian, I hope that explains things (hair everrrrrywhere lol)

Julep 'Sienna'

Happy Sunday! Back to work tomorrow :(  Today's post is the final review of the Julep polishes I received this month.  I'm excited to see what is going to come in September's box. I googled the 'It Girl' box for September and it's coming with a yellow polish. I may request another box pull lol.

'Sienna' is a gold shimmer polish. I wasn't expecting to like this. When I got the box I loved it in the bottle. On my hands I hated it. I swatched it and took it right off. Maybe I could wear this around the holidays but not now.

Formula on 'Sienna' was great. This could have been a one coater if I was more careful.
The swatches below are two coats of 'Sienna' and no top coat.

(Check out the last photo - this window like decal is on the side of the bottle. I HATE it!)

What the hell is this window like decal on 1 side of the bottle?!?! I hate it lol.
