It seems like Earth has just about run out of oxygen, and there aren’t many survivors left. Obviously they can’t stay on Earth without oxygen, so the survivors are looking for solutions to the problem before it’s too late. Part of that solution comes via a time machine, and the other part comes from someone who seems destiny for this moment. That person is Ethan (Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is overworking himself in order to make sure his wife is getting the best care as possible.
