Which one's your favourite?

Hi everyone! How's your weekend been? We've had gorgeous weather here, maybe Spring has finally Sprung? I hope so! Hubbie is working today and Mum is packing to go home so I have kept myself busy doing what I love best!!! I've got 3 really different cards to show you today. I hope you like them- which one's your favourite?

First up is a card my sis asked me to make for my bro's 40th birthday this week. She chose this Stampendous Changito Monkey stamp. I immediately thought I'd use these great papers by Sugar Lily called Digital World- very apt! I coloured in the image with Lyra pencils. I would never usually use a colour combo like this- I rarely use yellow- but I really like how this turned out, it's funky! (if I do say so myself!!!) I used my new star nesties to create an embelly. The "email me" sentiment was on one of the sheets of paper and I printed out the "40 today" on my PC.

I'd like to enter this into:
Paper Cutz- anything goes
Simon Says Stamp- Happy Birthday
Papertake Weekly- use 3 of something - 3 papers

Crafty stash used: Stamp (Stampendous); Lyra pencils; Copics; Papers (Sugar Lily); Assorted cardstock; Nesties; Button

Next up is my second Christmas card of the year!!!! And I've gone for the same image I used last time- doh!! Anyhow I think this is a slightly different style of card from me in that it is Stamping Bella a bit vintagey! I coloured Snowbunnybella with watercolour and lyra pencils. I then stamped Waltzing Mouse snowflakes around her and inked the edges of the image too. This gorgeous paper is by Cosmo Cricket. The sentiment is also Waltzing Mouse. What do you think of my homemade poinsettia??!!! I LOVE IT!! I'm lovin my work today aren't I???!!! lol. I made this using my new Magnolia die. I inked up the edges of the flowers and put Art Institute beads in the centre. I can't take the credit for the style of this flower which I saw here.

I'd like to enter this into:
Diecut Dreams Christmas Challenge- sketch plus lavender and lace
Crafts 4 Eternity- use fabric, buttons & beads
Charisma Cardz- use die cuts

Crafty stash used: Stamps (Stamping Bella; Waltzing Mouse); Watercolour pencils; Lyra pencils; Paper (Cosmo Cricket); Assorted cardstock; Rose corsage ink; Lace; Button; Thread; Beads (Art Institute); Poinsettia & romantic lace dies (Magnolia); Ribbon; Pearls

And last up is a Mother's Day for my wonderful Mum from my sis. She chose this Whipper Snapper stamp which I coloured with copics and lyra pencils. I love these fun tree and birdie papers by Pebbles, I've been waiting to use them and I think this image is perfect! The sentiment and heart were freebies with a mag from ages ago. The green border is from K & Co. Buttons and thread from stash.

I'd like to enter this into:
Stamp Something- something sweet
Crafty Catz- Mother's Day
Crafty Creations- Mother's Day

Pink and green!

Hi everyone. Hope you're all OK and recovered from half term!! I've made a couple of relatively quick cards today as I've been busy continuing with my big clear out this week in preparation for moving. Who knew one tiny house could harbour such a load of old clutter?!

This first card is for a friend of mine who has twin girls. They're still only very young so I figured I could get away with sending one card! This cute koala is by Whipper Snapper stamps and I coloured with copics. The big balloon is by Woodware and I masked it and overstamped to get 2 balloons. The sentiment is from the "Tags and Tickets" clear sheet by Hero Arts. I did a bit of doodling around the edge and finished with a ribbon slider.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Allsorts- "tag, ticket or label"
Crafty Catz- "charming bear"

Crafty stash used: Stamps (Whipper Snapper, Hero Arts, Woodware); Copics; Doodling; Nesties; Papers (Making Memories); Ribbon slider (Poppicrafts); Ribbon (recycled)

This second card is for... wait for it... .Mother's Day!! lol. I coloured my PB hedgie with copics and cut out with labels nestie. The papers are all by Papermania, as is the sentiment, from their Mother's Day kit from a few years back. These beautiful flowers are from an Ebay shop in the US.

I'd like to enter this for the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday- "sketch"
Penny Black- "pink, green & yellow"
Secret Crafter- "Mother's Day"
Stamp Something- "Spring"

Mice and monkeys!

Hi all! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I'm sorry I didn't get round to visiting many of you but I had a bit of a busy week last week. I'm starting training on Thursday for my new job! I had CFS for about 4 years (though thankfully only have occasional flare ups now) so I haven't worked for ages. Then last year just as I was getting better, I was thrown in at the deep end as I had to run my Dad's business when he passed away. We scaled back the business hugely so now I just do paperwork for the family business so am able to take on some other part time work. I'm really looking forward to doing something different though am a bit nervous!! Wish me luck!!

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, onto some cards.....

My first card is a birthday card for a male friend and is this using this cute Whipper Snapper stamp. I love how chilled out he looks! Wish I was where he is!!! I coloured the image with copics and then the shading around the edge is done with lyra pencils to give a softer effect. I love the writing, it's a Sizzix phrase set. I bought it in their Winter sale. By the way, have you seen my cute flip flop brad?!

I'd like to enter this for a number of challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenges- sketch (rotated)
Paperplay Challenges- "Furry friends"
Copic Colour Challenge- "Blue, grey and green"
Crafty Catz- "Birthday card"
Paper Cutz Challenges- "Beach/summer"
Crafty Calender- "Keeping warm"
Sophisticats- "Spring/bright colours"

Here's my usual little close up to see a bit of copics shading. I still need practice but I'm definately improving!

Crafty stash: Stamp (Whipper Snapper); Copics; Lyra pencils; Nesties; Phrase die (Sizzix); Papers (Making Memories); Assorted cardstock; Brad (Poppicrafts)

And my second card of the day is also for a male birthday. I've got so many birthday cards to make at the mo!! This Changito monkey stamp I got for birthday or Christmas and have coloured with lyra pencils. I stamped a frame around him from the Doodley Frames set by Autumn Leaves which I love. The sentiments are both by Elzybells but from different sets- one is from the sheep set and the "hey buddy" is from the "missing you" set. The little sentiment holder (I know that's not the word I want but it escapes me!) is another little Sizzix bargain I got in their sale. I don't know if you can see but I cuttlebugged the strip across the middle.

Crafty stash used: Stamps (Stampendous, Elzybells, Autumn Leaves); Lyra pencils; Paper (?); Assorted cardstock; Nesties; Spot and Dots folder (Cuttlebug); Tag holder (Sizzix); Ribbon (recycled)

And for this card, I'd like to enter it into:

Paperplay challenges- "Furry friends"
Crafty Catz- "Birthday card"
Sketchy colours- "Brown and turquoise"

Thanks for dropping by. Can't wait to see your creations this week x

4 challenges and some chickens!!

Creative Card Crew & 365 Cards Challenges

Hello ladies!! Hope you're having a good Tuesday. It's a horrible miserable rainy day here in Essex so I've taken the opportunity to do a bit of crafting as I've got some orders to fill and am running out of time on all of them!!

So onto my first card which is for my Mum's birthday. I LOVE this stamp! It's called Dahlia Hen and it's by Whipper Snapper. It reminded me of my Mum- mother hen and all that! I've entered this for the Creative Card Crew Challenge who's challenge is ribbons and gems and 365 Cards Challenge who's challenge is Feathers! I coloured in the image with Lyra pencils and Sansador and have paper pieced her pinny. The papers are by Basic Grey. I used my nesties to create an apeture for Dahlia to sit in and then raised up the foreground to make it 3d- I hope you can see what I've done there! I then added a ribbon and cut out some little birdies from matching paper and added some rose hot fix crystals and sentiment.

Crafty stash used: Stamp (Whipper Snapper); Lyra colorsoft pencils; Papers- Basic Grey; Nesties; Ribbon (Poppicrafts); Hot fix crystals (Beadcraft); Sentiment (Craftwork Cards)

365 Card Challenge & My Time to Craft Challenge

My second card is an order for my sister's friend and it's another chicken!! I LOVE these Whipper Snapper chickens- how did you guess?! I'm entering this as another card for 365 Card Challenge and also My Time to Craft Challenge who's challenge this week is scallops.

So again I coloured chicken with Lyra pencils and Sansador and paper pieced her pressie and ribbon. The papers are all by My Mind's Eye and I cut out the flowers from one sheet of the paper and added those as embellishments with scarlet hot fix crystals in the centre.

Crafty stash used: Stamp (Whipper Snapper); Lyra pencils; Papers (My Mind's Eye); Nesties; Sentiment (Craftwork Cards); Hot fix crystals (Bead Craft)

Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge

And my final card is another card order for my sis's partner. I was actually following the sketch for Crafts 4 Eternity but forgot that you also had to add 2 ribbons and a paperclip!! Doh!! So this little doggie is by Elzybells and I've coloured with copics and decoupaged his head and paws. The papers are all by Making Memories and I used the Sizzix buttons die to make the buttons.

Crafty stash used: Stamp (Elzybells); Copics; Papers (Making Memories); Nesties; Sentiment (Craftwork Cards); Sizzix die; Punch (Martha Stewart)

Friday Sketchers Challenge

Hi everyone! Hope you're all well and had a great weekend. Here is my first card of the week- it's for Friday Sketchers Challenge. Pop over to the blog and you'll see some great designs this week.

So for mine (sorry the picture is so pale, don't know what happened there!)- I used this new cutie Whipper Snapper stamp and coloured it in with a mixture of copics and watercolour pencils. The card is for a friend's little girl who is 1 next month. I double stamped the balloons so that I could 3d them and I masked out some of the detail on the stamp so that I could add a "1" on both of them which I did with a mixture of transfers and doodling around the edge.

I then cut out using nesties and layered up with Making Memories paper and added some embellies.

Crafty stash used: Stamp (Whipper Snapper); Copics; Watercolour pencils; Paper (Making Memories); Nesties; Black fine liner, Transfers (?); Flower and button (Poppicrafts)

Here is the sketch (above) my card was based on by the Friday Sketchers team.

And finally I thought I'd show you this other card I made last month for my sis's birthday- I LOVE this paper, it's so pretty. My sis loves chickens so I knew this new stamp would be perfect for her. I coloured in with Lyra pencils and cut out with nesties. The paper is by My Mind's Eye and added pink hot fix crystals to finish.

Crafty stash: Stamp (Whipper Snapper); Lyra pencils; Nesties; Paper (My Mind's Eye); Hot fix crystals (Beadcraft)

Colour Create, Lili of the Valley and Friday Sketchers Challenges

Hi to you all. I hope you've had a nice weekend. I haven't had too bad a day considering but I think that's cos I kept myself really busy- it's the best thing, I'm finding! So I've been making some more really quite simple cards for the craft fair I'm doing. This first card is for Colour Create and I adore this new stamp from Whipper Snapper. The theme is to use any 3 of the following colours: strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, kiwi or tangerine. Can you see what colours I used?! I coloured it in using a mixture of Lyra pencils and watercolour pencils. The papers are all Basic Grey and I LOVE the colours of them!

Here is a little close up!

Crafty stash used: Stamp (Whipper Snapper); Lyra pencils; Watercolour pencils; Papers (Basic Grey); Nesties; Sentiment (Craftwork Cards)

And onto Friday Sketchers Challenge. I made 2 really quick cards for this challenge for my stock.

This first card's image is by Lili of the Valley. The papers are by Basic Grey which I think go perfectly with her stripy tail and the colour of her hair! I then thought I'd use my Martha Stewart punch to continue the wave-like theme. Did it work, do you think?

Crafty stash used: Image (Lili of the Valley); Papers (Basic Grey); Assorted cardstock; Zig zag Punch (Martha Stewart); Daisy punch (Woodware); Flower (Poppicrafts); Button (Poppicrafts); Sentiment (Craftwork Cards)

And another card based on the sketch but I moved the sentiment a little. This card also covers the Lili of the Valley Challenge this fortnight which is paper piecing. So the stamp is Lili of the Valley coloured with copics and paper pieced with Papermania paper which I used throughout the card. The buttons are a fav of mine to add a bit of variation and the sentiment is a Papermania sticker.

Crafty stash used: Stamp (Lili of the Valley); Copics; Paper (Papermania); Assorted cardstock; Buttons die (Sizzix); Sticker (Papermania)

Have a great week, thanks for stopping by xxx

The Pink Elephant and Inspirational Card Sketches Challenges

Hello to all of you. Hope you've enjoyed the sunny weather today. I haven't been working today so have managed to catch up on housework and fit in a couple of cards. I also want to say thanks to those of you who left such nice messages on my last post when I was having a bad day, it really helps to know other people have been through it and that I'll come out the other end. Thanks x

So onto my first card and it's for The Pink Elephant Challenge who's theme this week is "wedding". This was perfect for me as I wanted to make a wedding card for my stock and I had a new stamp to try out! This gorgeous stamp is from Stamping Bella and is called Valentini. I just thought it was really versatile. I have coloured it with my new Lyra pencils and Sansodor. I got these off Ebay for a third of the price so was really pleased. I've only got a set of 24 and haven't got the full spectrum of colours but I like having them as an alternative to watercolour pencils as they blend differently. If you click on the photo you can see a close up of the glitter I've put around the rim of the glass like a martini! I've used Divine Swirls embossing folder for the background and the sentiment is by Lili of the Valley. Finally I added some gorgeous pink hot fix crystals.

Crafty stash used: Stamp (Stamping Bella); Lyra pencils; Assorted cardstock; Divine Swirls folder (Cuttlebug); Sentiment (Lili of the Valley); Stickles; Hot fix crystals (London Bead Co); Ribbon (recycled)

And onto this week's Inspirational Card Sketch (above) as designed by Dawn.

I wanted to make a male get well card so I thought this sketch would lend itself well to this new stamp I wanted to use. Isn't he cute?! I coloured him in with a mixture of Lyra pencils and watercolour pencils and double mounted on cardstock. The paper is For Him set by Papermania. The sentiment is by Stamping Bella and the little buttons are made using a Sizzix die.

A little close up of our chicken!

Crafty stash used: Stamps (Whipper Snapper & Stamping Bella); Lyra pencils; Watercolour pencils; Assorted cardstock; Paper (Papermania); Buttons die (Sizzix)

Thanks for looking, hope you have a nice day! x
