Pin the Tail on the

Wow...I can't believe I made this Pin the Tail on the Bunny game for my niece a year ago.  It was the perfect accent to their home decor for the Easter Holiday, and doubled as a party game for their Easter Egg Hunt.  This game is super simple to make and is an all time classic hit.  Over the years I have created many "pin the" games...from Flames on Charizard to handles on a teapot....this game never dissapoints.

Pin the Tail on the Bunny Supplies:

Step 1: Cut out your bunny shape. I used the rabbit from Cricut's Pet Shop, but there is a similar Rabbit here in the Silhouette Store. To create a large shape simply place two 12x12 sheets right next to one another and cut.  When done, use a piece of scrap paper to adhere the two halves together.

Step 3:  Adhere your layers to form the large bunny design.

Step 4:  Cut bow design from your favorite Glitter Silk color.  I love the Glitter silk, it cuts beautifully, and gives that extra bit of sparkle without leaving glitter everywhere.  Adhere to neck of bunny.

Step 5:  Cut tails for your bunny from white Glitter Silk papers.  I used a large flower shape, but you could use a circle or scalloped circle, and number each.  You will need one tail for each of your games participants.

Step 6:  Hang bunny on vertical surface at eye level for your players.

Step 7:  Give each player one of the tails that has a little adhesive stuck on the back side.  Blind fold the player and have them place the tail where they think it should be.  The player who is the closest wins.

I hope you have fun creating this game for the little ones in your life.

Tropical Fun with Chibitronics and Xyron

Hi everyone!  I'm back today and want to share with you a fun project I made with Chibitronics and Xyron.  I found this fun Palm Tree Box file at SVGCuttingFiles, and new that it would be perfect with the new Tropical Color Lights from Chibitronics.
Products Used:

This project came together quickly with the use of my Cricut and Xyron.  And decorating was super fun with Chibitronics.  Let me show you how to create the circuit for each tree.
I brought the negative of the copper tape down the top of the paper and wrapped the positive end around through the box and attached the battery completing my circuit.
Aren't these new colors so fun?  Love all the color variations that are now available from Chibitronics.  With the negative end up and positive down, it was quick work to light up each of the palm trees.
Here you can just see my negative run going through the top of the tree...don't worry tho, one I add the palm leaves that hole and the tape will be covered.
Embellishing the palm tree and making the hammock were super quick with the help of my Xyron machines.  I used the Create a Sticker to add dry adhesive to the wood pieces of my hammock.  I love that Xyron has machines in all different sizes for each of your paper crafting needs (yes, I have a huge selection...Xyron 850, 500, 2.5 inch, 1 inch...and even a tiny little 1/2 inch lol.
After adding these little coconut pieces that I made with my Xyron Sticker Maker and some twine to the hammock I was done.

I haven't decided what I will do with this fun little home decor piece yet...Maybe use to hold some fun drink pics at my next Tiki Party?  hmmmm
Thanks for dropping by.  Now, head on over to the Xyron Facebook Page where the Xyron Design Team is sharing some fun Chibitronics projects all week long.

Hugs.

Glass Christmas Cutting Boards

Hi everyone!  Happy Wednesday...guess what?  I am back with more holiday goodies using my Cricut and svg files.  I know, CHA is coming and I should be working on projects...I still have so much to do, but making Christmas decor is so quick and easy.  hee hee
OK, so I found these small glass cutting boards/trivets at the Dollar Store and have seen so many fun things done I couldn't resist trying my hand.
Don't ask what I was thinking but I decided my first cutting board/trivet was going to be this beautiful Winter Wonderland scene.  Well, it took me two tries to get it properly weeded...one of these days I may have to read about how you are "supposed" to weed vinyl.  I am probably doing it all wrong.  lol I found the file in a Cricut user group on Facebook.
After that I had to try my hand at this super cute Santa found over at Kraftgineer. .  I wanted to give it as a gift, so I really needed it to be "right".  The Santa was much easier to center on the glass and the scrolls were much more forgiving than I would have originally thought.  I hope the recipient liked it. Anyway...if you are looking for scrolly (is that even a word) files, be sure and check this site out.  So many fun files.

Well, off to work on those CHA samples.

Holiday Happenings

Hey everyone!  Back today to share with you some more Christmas Decor I have been working on.  Today I want to share some fun pillow covers.  These are great because I can just slide them over existing pillows, making storage of the pillows over the holidays easier, and not taking much space when I pack all the decorations away.
These were so quick and easy to make.  I had plenty of holiday files available in my Cricut Design Space to choose from, and had purchased some Cricut Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl at Joann when they had a sale.  Lucky me.
My original plan was to sew some pillows, but I found some 20 inch pillow covers with zippers at Ikea for $4 each...there is no way I could have made these for that so...into my cart went a dozen or so.  hee hee
It was so quick and easy to cut the vinyl, and after a bit of hesitation I went ahead and committed, following the directions for use with my iron and....voila.  I probably spent more time being nervous than I spent actually making the pillow covers.  lol
I may make a couple more for Christmas and then the wheels are turning for other holidays....Valentine's Day anyone?

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugs.

Napkin Ring Upcycle

Hey Everyone!  Happy Friday!  Well, yesterday I shared how I am constantly coming across pinecones on my daily walk and thought I would share another project made with these fun little gems.

I've had these filagree napkin rings for quite some time and never use them because...well...I guess I am just over it.  lol  Anyway, with a few items from my stash including these fun medallions from the Buckle Boutique, I was quickly able to give them a new life.

I began by hot gluing a small piece of the lace ribbon around the napkin ring.
I then glued on one of the gold Buckle Boutique medallions.
And finally the pinecones (do not forget to clean your pinecones...no one wants creepy crawlies on their Thanksgiving table.
I love the way these look on my holiday table.  I wonder if I can just leave the table set till dinner?  lol

Have a great weekend.
Hugs.

Leafy Witch Hat Supplies:

Step 1.  Die cut, emboss, and sand leaves.  I made a total of 12 leaves, 4 of each color: No. 6, No. 7, and No. 20; yellow, orange and brown.  After sanding wipe each down with your Sand-it Gadget.

Step 2. This step is not necessary, but for added interest and depth, you can ink the edges of the leaves.

Step 3.  To create spiral flower, begin by drawing a spiral on the back of the copper Glitter Silk sheet.

Step 4.  Cut along drawn line.

Split Letter Monogram

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you another project I made using Clear Scraps, my electronic cutter and some vinyl.
Split monogram_nancy keslin_clear scraps

I shared last week that I won a bunch of vinyl from Cricut.  Well, the vinyl bug has bitten and I have been cutting like crazy.  Wait till you see all the fun stuff I made.   If you know me tho, I can be a bit of a klutz, always in a hurry and maybe not taking enough time to get things done.   I have seen so many of these split letter monogram frames and people who have cut themselves trying to create them.  Clear Scraps to the rescue.

All I needed was a Clear Craft sheet, my vinyl, and an electronic cutter.  The Clear Craft sheet is perfectly clear and there is no chance I would put my hand through the glass.

Oh, did I mention that I am helping a friend of mine is making one for her son's upcoming wedding?  How fun is that?  These monograms make great wedding gifts.  I can't wait to make more.

I hope you enjoy this home decor project.

Hugs

You Light Up My Cupcake Stand

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great day!  Today I want to share with you a fun project I made using the Cupcake Stand Sizzix die, some fun Prima Marketing Papers, and my favorite Chibitronics LED lights.

To begin you will need to attach your patterned paper to mat board and run through the die cut machine to create the needed shapes.  Attaching your patterned paper first ensures you get a good, clean cut.  The stand is easily assembled from there.  I added a bit of lace around the bottom of the die cut for extra interest.

The copper tape adds another embellishment and was simply wrapped around all four sides of the stand.  Try to keep your lines straight and your lights will easily fit right in.
I attached the battery on the underneath of the cupcake stand so that it could easily be replaced or removed when not in use.  Be careful that your copper tape does not touch, you don't want to short out your battery.
This was a super fun and easy project to create and makes that cupcake something special when presented.
