The brain is gone....

Here's a hilarious card that didn't make it onto the calendar during February, but you know when I see a brain stamp, I just have to have it, lol.  This stamp was made by Bloobel stamps that is now closed.  I really miss her awesome images.  TOO funny.

I don't know who makes the sentiment stamp, I got it in plain rubber, but it's too funny and goes well with a  lot of my brain cards.  So many packages have been already wrapped up, well, they have gone from being in boxes on my floor to envelopes with their names on them.  Now, they need to go from envelopes with names to properly address envelopes with postage.  Sounds easy right?  lol....

so the following items went out over the weekend, meaning they are at the post office this morning for shipping:    NOTE---LOOK FOR YOUR NAME using the name I SHIPPED your package TO NOT THE NAME of your messages. For example, if you leave comments as CraftyGirl, but your name is Holley,  in the list below, your name will appear as Holley.....

A Gal with Brains

Here's a fun card that I made for my Epileptologist (LOL, my BRAIN doctor).  I thought he would get a chuckle out of this awesome stamp from Simply Betty stamps.  She just had an awesome sale of 104 images for $20.  While I had a dozen or more of the images that were included in the sale, it was still well worth the price for the other wonderful stamps including this one.

I had a Dr Appt with Dr Aboutmatar at Austin Epilepsy this week.  I am at almost 7.5 years post brain surgery now.  So very thankful for that and so very thankful to Dr Aboumatar!!  His practice has just bloomed, he now has several other doctors, three times the space and so much more going on!  So wonderful for him!

Holley Brain Power!!

It's time for something very special!!!  Here's an amazing stamp designed by artist Sandra Caldwell!  This awesome image is ME!! This stamp is called Holley Brain Power!  I just love her Brain Power shirt along with her "brain" cap!! How cool is that?!?  What an honor to have Sandra create something so very special for me this year in honor of 7 years post brain surgery.  She is going to be putting this very stamp on sale, I think it's just perfect for all kinds of fun (and smart) cards for all your loved ones!

Also, I am using some GORGEOUS papers from Paper Temptress on this card.  The base of the card is Mica Citrine, the dark brown mica on the right is Bronze;  The image is printed on Heavenly white and layered on Mica Azalea then ruche.  The sentiments are layered on gold glossy paper.

In addition to the contest, there will be a general prize winner drawn from amongst the comments left for today as well!  No special question, but it would be cool if you tell Sandra what you think of the stamp she made me!

If I only had a brain

Here's a fun Magnolia image of her as a scarecrow. I had to add a classic sentiment that goes with the scarecrow, "If I only had a brain."  Then, I printed out my own paper in the background using a great brain image from Ike's Art.  I gave this card to my Epileptologist, the one in charge of my brain surgeries right before Halloween along with two trays full of mini brains for his whole office at Austin Epilepsy.

Here's some pictures of the Brain Candy, and I made some fun brain sentiments with the Ike's art image on the top of the containers.

A day later I actually got a nice thank you card in the mail from the office.

Zombie Sheep

This cutie comes from OddBall Art Co, the same artist who does the Lizzy Love images that I have shown.  This fun image is called Big Eye Zombie Sheep and was just $1!!  Can you believe that?  that an awesome image.  Click the link and check out her stamps as she has a bunch of fun ones for $1 including lots of skulls, which you KNOW I love. Then look at all her Lizzy Love images which are what I typically buy.

I added some great eyeballs for this card, which I love as it matches the ribbon I have and a green skellie with a bow.  I am going to share this on the Oddball Art challenge this month.

And you what zombie food is right?  BRAINS....well I went to see my favorite doctor yesterday, Dr Aboumatar at Austin Epilepsy, the doctor who set up my brain surgeries several years ago.  I made these for him and his staff.  Who else but a zombie and a neurologist would love these?

Zombie Girl

So, right before the celebration begins, you know I had to start up with this fun image. I guess when you have been through such a as brain surgery, you must learn to keep a sense of humor and since for me things turned out so well.  I must say the saying does make me laugh, "I can see clearly now, the brain is gone...."  Now for me, that is very much true.  Perhaps the pretty lady holding a brain on a plate is a bit much, lol!

Plus of course, in my case, they did only remove the back left  hand temporal lobe, a decent size piece of it.  Risky place for brain surgery as the Temporal lobe actually controls your memory in several different ways both recall and storage. To make it a full three years without having a seizure is wonderful and so I am now ready to celebrate!!  This great stamp comes from Queen Kat and is called Zombie Doll from Carissa Rose.
