Sunday Stamps - Late Again!

A day late, but here's my design for this week's Sunday Stamps Colour Challenge. It's a sweet combo of lime, grey & turquoise.

I used Gumball Green, Bermuda Bay & Smokey Slate from Stampin' Up! as my colours. SU! doesn't really have a current "lime" colour anymore, but I thought Gumball Green was a close call and worked really well for this combo. A combo that I really grew to like and think will use again!

I kept it really simple, using the current hostess set in the Holiday Catalogue - Warmth & Wonder. I'm totally in love with the tree. The sentiment is from the same set (gotta love that!) and after adding a few jewels, my card was complete.

Hope you can join us. Remember, it's a bi-weekly challenge, so you have until Friday, November 29th. Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team Blogs too and leave them some love. Their designs are sure to inspire you.

Until next time, stay crafty!
Steph

RECIPE:
Paper: Gumball Green, Smokey Slate, Whisper White
Ink: Smokey Slate, Bermuda Bay
Stamps: Warmth & Wonder
Accessories: Jewels

Circle Butterfly CASE

I created this card a while back, but never got the opportunity to post it. So long ago in fact that I forget now who I CASEd this card from or where I even came across it! :s Sorry!

Paper: Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, Lovely Flowers DSP (retired)
Tools: Circle Punches, Butterfly Punch
Accessories: Jewels
Is this card clean & simple (CAS) or what?! Sometimes simplicity is best, although, I can't believe I didn't do any stamping on this card! I popped up all the circles and added some small jewels for some bling. I think the Stripes TIEF was the best choice for this card... I think I'll even create more just like this, but in different colour tones. I like it so much!

Until next time, stay crafty!
Steph

P.S. Don't forget that the SU! Retiring List will be posted tonight at midnight (MDT)!

Peace on Earth

Wouldn't that be nice?! Today's card is a CASE of Connie Stewart's card I found on Pinterest. I just absolutely fell in love with it.

Paper: Whisper White, Midnight Muse
Ink: Gumball Green
Stamps: Merry Minis, Greetings of the Season
Tools: Scallop Punch, Merry Minis Punch Pack, Heat Tool, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots TIEF
Techniques: Heat Embossing
I changed out the sentiment she used because I just found this card so peaceful and thought the sentiment I used from Greetings of the Season fit perfectly. I heat embossed it in silver for some added texture and elegance. I just love this card!

Note Set Challenge Preview

Good Morning! Hope you had a great long weekend. I spent the majority of the weekend indoors de-cluttering and reorganizing our basement. It was a family effort, although my two year old didn't really "help" as much as she thought. :)

Today I'm showing you an awesome project that we got to make at the Hamilton Regionals in August:

Four Note Cards with Matching Envies in Enclosure Vellum Holder
Isn't this sweet?! There are four note cards and coordinating envelopes, all of which are concealed in a vellum pouch that's kept closed with Baker's Twine. These were so quick and easy to put together. There's nothing but collage stamping on the front with the Clockworks set and we used SU! note cards with envelopes, so there was no cutting or scoring to be done either! Well, except for the minimal scoring needed on the Vellum.

Anyway, our team challenge is to create a set similar to this for our meeting next week. We want to see how many different designs and ideas we can come up with and then share with those in the group who were not able to attend Regionals. I've got a few ideas in mind, but still need to work on it. I'll be sure to share it with you when it's done.

This type of gift set could be great for a host/hostess, party favours and even birthday and Christmas gifts. Just think of the possibilities! Why not give it a try yourself?!

Until next time, stay crafty!

New Nest

Today's post features some old and new products. It's another CAS design (not my typical, but I guess I'm feeling that lately) and I just love how it came out!

Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Birds of a Feather DSP
Ink: Early Espresso, Old Olive, Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple
Stamps: Good Neighbours, Take Care, Love & Laughter
This "Congrats on the new nest" card is for friends who recently bought a house. The focal image is the nest stamp from Take Care and I added some crumpled strips of Early Espresso paper to give dimension to the nest. I stamped a house from Good Neighbors (retired) and glued that on top. I'm really happy with how my vision came out on paper.

Another CAS Button Buddy

Yesterday I showed you a birthday card made with the cherry stamp set from Button Buddies. You can view it here if you missed it. Today I have a similar card using the rattle from the same set. Here's that card:

Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Crumb Cake
Stamps: Button Buddies, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Tools: Big Shot, Designer Frames TIEF, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch
Accessories: Buttons, Baker's Twine
This is the exact same layout as yesterday and I used all the same tools. The only difference is that I did some faux stitching with my Crumb Cake marker all around the card, punch-out and embossed part of the card. Pretty CAS and I like it!

Short and sweet today... what do you think?

Until next time, stay crafty!

Cherries Please!

I know Button Buddies has been around for a while now, but it's been on my wish list since the beginning and I finally got my hands on it. I kept pushing it down the wish list as new stuff came out. I hoard buttons because I love 'em and yet, don't use them too often. I bought this stamp set to get me using all my buttons! Here's my first card with my newly acquired set:

Paper: Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Early Espresso (marker), Old Olive (marker)
Stamps: Button Buddies, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Tools: Big Shot, Designer Frames EF, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch
Accessories: Buttons
This is probably the cleanest and simplest card I've ever done. I usually like lots of layers and embellishments, but I was feeling the "less is more" vibe for this one.

All I did was start with a Whisper White note card and emboss it with one of the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. After that, I inked up the cherry stamp from the Button Buddies set with my Early Espresso and Old Olive markers, stamped it and added the buttons with glue dots. I popped up the sentiment with Dimensionals and viola!, a CAS card done in less than 5 minutes.
