Review on samsung infuse

Posted by abie on 9:43 PM in ,
Samsung Infuse is one of the thinnest smartphones offered by AT&T. The phone also has one of the largest screens among all the smartphone available in the market. The only exception to this is the Kyocera Echo.

Design
The screen on this phone is so huge that it almost bridges the gap that exists between the tablets and phone worlds. It screen is 4.5 inches and is a Super AMOLED Plus screen that has an 800x480 pixel resolution. The overall size of the phone will take some time to get accustomed to and those who are looking for a phone that will conserve pocket space will be disappointed.
The phone has two cameras. An 8-megapixel camera along with a stylish flash is present in the back. It also has a 1.3-megapixel camera in the front that can be used for video chat. The plastic backpanel of this phone has a textured gunmetal gray color and also comes with dark chromed edges.

Software and Interface
The phone has a powerful 1.2 GHz processor. Despite the fact that a 1.2 GHz CPU may be outdated soon, the phone is quite fast. The phone also comes with features like 6-axis motion tracking, Bluetooth 3.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. The phone can also connect with the HSPA+ network of AT&T.
Along the bottom edges of the phone you have the classic search, back, home, and menu buttons. The phone also has a drop down menu along with 7 customizable home screens. You can add widgets, folders, shortcuts or toggle the wallpaper. Despite the fact that the phone has no flashy graphics, it is highly functional and you can easily navigate it.

Internet
The phone has a polished and fast browser. The phone allows one to pinch and zoom with ease. You can also double tap to zoom as well as watch videos on this phone. The task of copying and highlighting is very easy with this phone. Its screen makes the task of reading text more enjoyable. The browsing experience on this phone is one of the best.

Multimedia and Productivity
The phones huge screen makes the very suitable for both playing games and watching movies. You can play 3D games on this phone. The phone comes with Angry Birds pre-loaded on it. You can also find Quickoffice on this phone. The phone has two different trace pads, both of which will allow you to trace numbers, letters and punctuations.

Call Quality and Life
The call facility on this phone is good both in terms of clarity and voice quality. Its battery performance was however very good.

Camera
The 8-megapixel camera comes with many features fun cartoon filter and scene modes. You can take 720p HD video with this camera. The video comes with a frame rate of 30fps which is better than the average smartphone.

I Heart Apple

Posted by abie on 1:51 PM in ,
It has been two weeks already since I have been using my new Mac and I must say that I am loving it. I was hesitant at first to switch from Windows to Mac as I heard that MAC OS is completely different from Windows but I am happy that I did the switch as I find MAC OS faster and reliable than Windows. The boot up alone only takes a couple of seconds while it takes minutes to boot from Windows. And it is actually not that difficult to learn MAC OS as it is as user friendly as Windows, though it just takes a little getting used to.

Now I am happy because I can do a lot more with it than just type using Word processing application:

Ako na ang busy. Kailangan talaga 2 laptop sabay ginagamit? Adik lang

• Since it has a wider screen (compared to the 10” screen of my netbook), I can comfortably browse the net, read articles online like the latest showbiz news that I heard about natalie portman's engagement ring, and multi task as I can open many windows at the same time.
• I can install Adobe Photoshop so I can go back to digi scarpping again.
• Watch my favorite TV series as my MAC now comes with a DVD player (my netbook doesn’t have a DVD player so I can’t use it to watch movies and TV series from DVD).

Now I am happy that I switch to MAC and I think what they say about MAC is true, that once you go with MAC you won’t be coming back to Windows.

I am so happy with the HP Mini notebook that hubby got me a month ago. Although I have to get used to the small screen and we still yet to upgrade the memory as I find it a little slow especially if I have lots of windows open and I am multitasking, but overall I am happy with it. I especially love the size of this laptop as it is so compact and small that I can even bring it with me when I take Bela to her ballet and swimming class so I can work while waiting for her class to finish.

My sister is also looking at buying one of those laptop computers of HP as her laptop needs replacement already so she is asking for my feedback on the netbook that I am currently using. I will really recommend it to her if she is not a heavy user like me who only needs Microsoft applications and is always on the go. But if she will use memory intensive applications like graphics software such as Adobe, then she might as well get the higher model of HP.

iTouch for Her

Posted by abie on 11:06 PM in ,
I am so sorry if there are times that I don’t reply to text messages right away. You see, Bela has been so addicted with the games and applications on my iPhone that I don’t get to use my iPhone when I am at home. Sometimes I will find out that I have a text message after a day or so when Bela is not busy playing with it and so I get the chance to check on the messages.

I admit that partly it is my fault since I installed dozens of games for kids on my phone so she has something to play with when we are on the road. But ever since she tried playing the games on my phone, she got hooked that the first thing that comes out of her mouth when she welcomes me when I arrived home from work is “Mom, can I play with your phone?”

I was telling hubby that Bela should have her own iPhone. But since it is a very expensive gadget for a five year old toddler, maybe we should just get her an iTouch instead. Her birthday is coming soon so maybe this is a perfect birthday gift for her.

The Red Gift from Dad

Posted by abie on 11:58 AM in , ,
I need a new laptop that I can use for my work and just the perfect timing because my friend told me about the HP Laptop fair at Mall of Asia where they are selling HP laptops at discounted prices and it even comes with a free Globe Tattoo broadband kit.

So when my husband and I got the chance, we went to Mall of Asia to check it out. I only want a small laptop since I want that I will be able to carry it with me when we go out or when we travel as my work heavily relies on Internet connection and on my laptop. So when I saw this, I know that it is the one:

My new HP mini. Maybe it is the red color that attracts me with it. LOL. The screen is only 10” and since I am used to the 17” and 22” monitor that we have in the office, I find the screen a little small at first. But what do I expect, I want a compact laptop so I have to sacrifice a few perks. But the specifications are ok for the work that I do with it: Intel Atom N470, 1 GB of RAM, 250 GB of HD space.

I actually was having second thoughts at first but then hubby said that he will pay for it and so who am I to say no to blessings right? LOL.

Thank you again dad for your gift. I really love it.

Cash Advances, My Husband’s Savior

Posted by abie on 12:56 AM in ,
My husband has a new toy and it is his new Canon 50D Digital SLR. I did not know that he is actually planning to buy one and I only learned about it days before Cobi’s baptism. His initial plan was that he will sell his Canon 40D first and use the money from its sale as the initial cash out to buy the Canon 50D. But being a camera addict that he is and since he wanted to use his new toy on Cobi’s baptism, he decided to buy the camera the day before Cobi’s baptism even if it is still a few days short from payday and even if he hasn't sold his Canon 40D yet.

So how did he manage to buy the camera even if he is short on cash? Cash advances had been his savior. He knows that he can’t wait until payday to purchase the camera and so he thought of applying for cash advance so he can buy the camera before Cobi’s baptism.

Cash advance is a short term loan and can be your answer if you need cash below $1000 instantly. The advantage of cash advance is that there is no credit check involved when applying. The application is also very convenient as you just have to fill up an online form to submit an application and you can instantly receive an online approval. Once approved, the money can be deposited to your bank account usually within the next business day. That is how convenient applying for a cash advance is.

I know that my husband will be able to pay for the cash advance when his pay check arrives so I gave him my approval to obtain the cash advance. I know that it made my husband truly happy and it is a good thing too as he has a much better camera to use for an important event in my son’s life, which is his Baptism.

To Upgrade or Not?

Posted by abie on 5:16 PM in ,
I just received a text message from my brother and he told me that we have a second hand laptop in our store. I asked him before to let me know if we have a laptop in our store as I am planning to replace my old laptop as it is acting up already and won’t keep up with the demands of my busy online life. LOL. Now I am thinking if I should get it or not.

The technical specification of the laptop is ok – the capacity of the hard disk, the speed of the CPU, the capacity of the RAM is above what my current laptop has and is more than enough for the simple desktop processing that I require. It even comes with a laptop warranty so even if it is a pre-owned gadget, I will still feel secure in buying it as it is still under warranty.

What do you think guys? Should I upgrade or not? I have to negotiate first with my brother and see if he will agree that I will pay when able. LOL.

To the Rescue

Posted by abie on 7:35 PM in ,
Are you one of those printer owners who find it hard to look for laser printer cartridge for your laser printer? Printer is one of the busiest equipment in an office environment that is why offices should have enough supplies of printer cartridges to respond to the demands of the printing needs of their employees. But with the numerous types of printer models out there, companies sometimes find it hard to find a store where they can get their printer supplies.

But companies need not worry as there is an online store named Printer-Cartridges where companies can order their bulk toner supplies without any problems. Printer-Cartridges make shopping for printer cartridges and ink refill easy as they have in their online store 300 different brand name printer models. Customers can search for the printer cartridge that they need by brand, by printer model or by cartridge number and their orders will be processed and shipped within the same day. They even offer free shipping for orders $45 and up. All their printer cartridges come with a one year warranty which only proves that their cartridges are really of high quality.

Thank goodness that there is a reliable printer cartridge online store like Printer-Cartridges so companies doesn’t have to worry anymore on where they can order their printer cartridge supply.

Printer for Bela

Posted by abie on 7:14 PM in
We have one desktop PC at home and one laptop but we don’t have a printer. One of the reasons why we decided not to buy a printer is because we know how pricey printer cartridges can get and we don’t really need to print that often so we decided that there is no need for us to have our own printer at home.

But Bela will be going to big school this coming school opening and for sure they will have tons of assignments that we will definitely need a printer at home so we can readily print whatever she needs for school.

Thankfully I discovered the site of Printer-Cartridges. This is where my friend purchases their printer cartridge for their home use. What is best about this shop is that their printer ink cartridges and refill kits are so affordable that anyone can really afford to have their own printer at home. They even ship the same day if you place your order from Monday to Friday before 5 PM. They also offer free shipping for orders $45 and up.

Now I have no reason not to buy a printer for our home use as I finally found a shop where I can purchase affordable and reliable printer ink cartridges.

Phone: OK

Posted by abie on 12:41 PM in
My new phone is now operational. Thanks to my sister’s boy friend, Ronnie, for fixing it last night.

I haven’t really used my new phone ever since I got it last week since I haven’t moved my contacts and calendar yet. I tried it before and I ended up erasing my contacts and calendar so I am really afraid to do it myself this time as I have thousands of contacts already saved on my phone. I am really at lost when it comes to Apple gadgets.

So I really asked a favor from my sister’s boyfriend if he can do it for me. He was at our house yesterday and he was able to successfully move all my contacts and calendar. He will come again tonight as he is trying to install games too for free without jail breaking my phone. Hopefully he will be able to make it work so Bela can still use my phone to play her favorite games.

Thanks again Ronnie. I owe you one.

I Have a New Toy

Posted by abie on 2:37 PM in ,
Because Howell lost his cell phone, I am getting a new toy….Howell lost his Iphone last week. I was mad at first when I learned about it because it is my gift for him. But I soon realized that I know he doesn’t want that to happen.

The only spare phone that we have at home is an old, old Nokia 1100 that we bought for our former nanny. Even the housing looks hideous (LOL) but Howell said that he is ok with that phone and he doesn’t have to buy a new phone.

But my mom and my siblings are all saying that he deserves a much better phone. Imagine the boss using an old, outdated phone. LOL. I was supposed to get the Iphone that we have in the store but then we found out about Globe’s 0% offer for all their cell phones. We went to Globe last Friday to apply for a new line for Howell as we already cut his subscription with Smart as we are not happy with their service and their offer for Plan 800 or Plan 1200 is so irresistible. So we ended up signing for a two-year contract for Plan 1200 to get the Iphone 3GS 32 GB payable at 0% interest in 1 year. And guess what, hubby said that he will just use my current Iphone and I can have the 3GS and we will share for the monthly payments for the new Iphone. Amazing (I so love hubby). LOL.

I haven’t opened the phone yet as I will ask hubby or my sister to fix it for me. I am an idiot when it comes to Iphone so I have to ask other people to do it for me. I am excited already. Hubby promised to fix it for me later when he arrives from his team building exercise.

Gadgets Galore

Posted by abie on 1:36 AM in ,
I was reading an article written by Pam Pastor in the Lifestyle section of the Philippine Daily Inquirer about how the Nintendo DS Lite killed her social life.

She said that she is so addicted to her Nintendo DS Lite that she brings it with her everywhere she goes. Even if she is out attending social gatherings, instead of mingling and chatting with her friends and relatives, you would see her in one corner busy playing with her DS Lite. She even admits that it is really difficult to talk to her. She said that she left a lot of emails and text messages unanswered because she is so busy playing with her DS Lite. She said that she can’t put her DS Lite down even though she is out because she still have a lot of dishes to cook (Cooking Mama game), cakes to serve (Cake Mania game), mysteries to solve (Ravenherst Mystery Case Files game) and princesses to save (Super Mario game) all with her powerful pink stylus.

I can’t blame her. I once got addicted to playing Cake Mania, Diner Dash and Ravenherst Mystery Case files that I usually stay up until 2 or 3 AM because I am so engrossed with the game.

But I now have a new love after I discovered the wonderful world of ipods. Howell bought an Ipod video for me and Bela and he loaded it with our favorite movies. Since we rarely go out to watch movies, I now have a chance to catch all the movies that I miss.

I am really enjoying my new toy and just like Pam, I bring it with me everywhere I go. And I’m sure I will not get tired of it as hubby still has a lot of movies to download for me and Bela.

Still about my Ipod

Posted by abie on 12:04 AM in
I know I should be looking for auto insurance quotes online, but instead I have been busy the whole evening trying to familiarize myself with my new toy, my Ipod (read the whole story about my Ipod here).

I just finished my second movie and for me that is really a big thing. Hubby and I never get the chance to watch a movie or any of our favorite shows since our daughter pretty much dominates our TV. So I am now totally addicted to my Ipod since I can watch my favorite TV series now and all the movies that we were not able to watch on big screen.

So far, this is what kept me busy since we arrived home this evening:

1. Downloaded and installed Itunes
2. Copied the contents of my sister’s Ipod to our PC so I can synchronize later with my Ipod
3. Copied some of my music CDs
4. Watched SATC movie

Later I will have to study how to move all my mp3 and mp4 files to Itunes so I can synchronize it with my Ipod.

I can’t believe it is only now that I discovered the beauty of Ipod (pathetic), but I really love my new gadget to bits.

My Ipod

Posted by abie on 12:35 AM in ,
I know I might be the last person to own an Ipod but I am so happy because today I officially own one. (Well technically it is not really mine as it is given by my brother as his birthday gift for Bela.)

More than a year ago, we were able to venture into a small business opportunity and we were able to open our cell phone shop. Our shop sells brand new and second hand phones, Ipod, PSP, laptops or any other gadgets that you can think of.

Today, Bela and I went to Greenhills with my brother as we will be meeting hubby there to attend Sam’s 4th birthday party. We had a customer who traded her one month old 160 GB video Ipod for a brand new phone. Hubby and I really wanted an Ipod and so when I saw it, I immediately wanted to have it.

But of course, I have to return the initial capital for the Ipod to my brother but I jokingly asked him if I can just give him 50% of the initial capital instead and he did not think twice when he gave me his Yes. But he said that it will be his birthday gift for Bela as he knows how addicted his niece is in watching Disney movies. And then I was able to talk to hubby and he paid for the remaining 50% of the money that I have to return to my brother.

I am so happy. I just finished watching my first movie and I think I will really enjoy this gadget. (Calling hubby. I need more movies on my new Ipod.)

Thanks to my brother and my husband for giving me and Bela an Ipod. We love you!!

Music is Therapy

Posted by abie on 9:12 AM in , ,
Have you heard of music therapy? A lot of researches have shown that listening to music such as new country music stations on the radio has a great effect on a person’s body and psyche. A lot of health care professionals are using music to heal. They say that music can help care cancer patients, children with ADD, for pain management, and even to help ward off depression.

I am a believer too that music has great effects on the body and can help ease tension. Even my grand mother who loves tuning in to Florida High Definition Radio stations told me that listening to music gave her the strength to go on a tiring day and it is also her companion specially she is already retired and is just at home the whole day.

Too bad my grand mother’s radio broke down and she is a little sad these past few days. So we are planning to get her a high definition radio, Polk Audio I-sonic ES2. This system is just compact so my grand mother can bring it anywhere she likes (which is really what she wants) and at the same time, even though it is compact, she can still get a full bodied and crystal clear sound.

Video Camera Hunt

Posted by abie on 11:39 PM in ,
We went to Avant Greenbelt today after Bela’s class to continue with our vide camera hunt. We visited appliance and gadget stores at Robinson’s place yesterday but we failed to find a mini DV video camera that meets our expectations. Since the trend for video camera is going towards using hard disk and DVD as storage media, stores only has a limited stock for mini DV video cameras and most of them are already old models. They are cheaper, yes, but at least if I will be spending couple of thousand bucks for a gadget, at least it should be something that we really, really like.

Our solution: We won’t be buying the video camera before we leave for Singapore but instead we will just borrow my cousin’s video camera. Anyway, he is the one who offered it to us since he doesn’t want us to make an impulsive decision since we are pressured to buy one since we are leaving in just four days. And then we will just look for a nice video camera in Singapore. Who knows, maybe we might be able to get a better deal there.

So our video camera hunt is over for now. Wish us luck for our video camera hunt in Singapore.
