On My Mind - Unity FWF

Good morning! Happy Friday everyone! Just popping by to share my card for this week with Unity Friends with Flair:

This was a card I made recently for a publication call that wasn't picked up, so I get to share it here! I started off creating the background by running some white cardstock through a paper crimper. Then I rubbed a gold Gelato over the top in a random pattern, and blended and softened it with a water brush.

The main image is from the November 2013 Kit of the Month. I heat embossed with Gold Zing embossing powder on vellum, then fussy cut it out and adhere with foam adhesive. LOVE how the solid embossing, covers up the foam adhesive on the vellum! I masked and selectively stamped my sentiment from the same kit on a frame I fussy cut out of some pattern paper from an MME paper pad, then heat embossed that in white.

Tucked a wood veneer tag in there, added a few sequins, some pattern paper from Carta Bella, and some black jute twine in a bow at the top to finish it off!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you are having a wonderful day!!!

WCMD - Unity Coloring Challenge

Good morning! Right in the middle of all my Unity WCMD challenges - including this one for the Coloring challenge, I am also joining in on Unity Friends with Flair! Here is what I have to share for both of those ocassions:
Isn't that little cowboy-wanna-be the CUTEST?!?!?! I had so much fun coloring him in with my Copic markers!
The white embossed rectangle was cut with a Spellbinder's Nestabilities Die. I stamped and colored my image, then inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink.
Added some strips of burlap ribbon from Ribbon Carousel behind, and all my papers are from October Afternoon's Sasparilla line.
I ran some kraft paper through my paper crimper before mounting the sentiment on top of it.
And there it is! Fun with coloring - LOVE that!

Day after WCMD - Unity Challenge #2 and Giveaway still!

Well, I know it is the day after World Card Making Day, but I was so busy all day babysitting and such, that I didn't get started until later in the day, then the light wasn't good to take pictures and post them. So...I am putting up three posts today with the 3 challenge cards I completed on World Card Making Day - so I am extending my giveaway to any of these 3 posts, as well as yesterdays! I will probably draw a winner sometime the middle of next week, so you have plenty of time to leave comments on as many posts as you would like! Scroll to the bottom of this post if you want to see what you could win!

Up next, I have a birthday card I made for the Unity Stamp Company WCMD Challenge #2 - Texture Challenge, and the World Card Making Day Birthday Card Challenge and Link up on the Moxie Fab World:
I did something a bit new for me on this card - and LOVE the effect it had! First of all, my papers are from My Mind's Eye, and then lots of kraft paper.
I ran some kraft paper through my paper crimper (the first texture), layered some paper on it, and wrapped some jute twine from Ribbon Carousel around and tied in a bow (my second texture). Also added a PTI button to the center of the twine.
The frames are cut then embossed (my third texture) using a Spellbinder's Nestabilities die. Then came the fun part! I didn't have an ink in the color I wanted, so I colored my cupcake image with a Copic marker and then quickly stamped it. LOVE the soft mottled effect it gives! Then I stamped the sentiment over the top of the image.

Now...if you made it all the way to here - here is a picture of what you can win!!! (HERE is my favorite project made with this set - can you see why I LOVE it?!?!?!?!?) I have had this thing lately with Mason Jars - and I just ADORE this stamp set from Unity Stamp, so I got a set to giveaway on my blog! It got packed and lost in the shuffle of moving, so even though I've had it for a while, I just found it recently and thought this was the perfect opportunity to give it away! So...for a chance to win, just leave a comment on any of my posts today - the more you leave, the better your chances of winning! Due to postage, US and Canada only (unless you want to help with shipping costs - then I am happy to send it international as well!) Good luck!

Final Peachy Peek detail...

Things are pretty crazy in our household at the moments as we are now days away from moving. Yesterday I officially packed my scrappy goodies...and will get them out again when we get to Wyoming and settled, so probably not for the better part of the next couple of weeks at least. I actually hadn't had time for several days to play, but kept hoping I might be able to squeeze in a few minutes - then finally realized I might as well just put it all away! So...you probably won't see anything newly created from me for a bit, although I do have a few previously un-posted projects that I have scheduled over the next couple of weeks! Anyway - here is the last of my Peachy Keen Sneak Peek projects - and some more info on it!
And speaking of new releases...in case you didn't see them yet, here are the entire sets! This was such a fun and adorable release - as always!!!

For this card I used the schoolhouse image from the new Kit of the Month, stamped it on pattern paper, and colored with Copics.
All of my pattern paper is from an October Afternoon 8x8 paper pad - Sidewalks.
I distressed all the edges of my papers with a Tim Holtz distress tool, then inked them with Tim Holtz distress ink.
Stamped the sentiment, then added the word "DAYS" with some October Afternoon sticker letters.
The kraft paper behind the main image was also run through my paper crimper, and I added some lace and jute twine from Ribbon Carousel, as well as a button from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by to see me! Once I get moved and settled, I'm planning a giveaway - so make sure and stay tuned! Hopefully the stuff I have to giveaway survives the move!

Friday Friends with Flair - Dreams

Good morning and happy Friday - and Unity Friends with Flair! I love my card for today! I tried a few new things on it.
I recently got a paper crimper and couldn't wait to try it! I ran a piece of kraft cardstock through it, then brushed some white craft paint over the edges and across part of the center.
The poppies are from the April KOTM, colored with Copics, then I ran it through my Cuttlebug using a PTI Impression Plate and inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink.
I stamped the sentiment in brown ink, and in pink, then cut out a few words, inked the edges, and layered it over the brown for some dimension and interest.
The background paper is from Echo Park's This and That Graceful 6x6 paper pad. I also added some twill ribbon and jute twine from Ribbon Carousel.
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your Friday is wonderful - and you have a wonderful weekend!
