Glam Birthday Duo - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I often make multiples of cards, but I generally vary something between the two. Today is the exception on these birthday cards using one stenciled panel, and various supplies from Simon Says Stamp. These cards were basically an excuse to use one new product that I had been itching to play with!

I started off by using a stencil I hadn't had a chance to use either - Mosaic Petals. I inked up the layers with Zest, Honey, Grapefruit, and Mandarin inks, then used the new Gold Sparkle Paste from SSS - and the photos don't do it justice! It is stunning! When I saw it, I fell in love, and hadn't had a chance to use it yet. It will definitely be a favorite! Anyway, once that panel fully dried, I cut it in half diagonally, then trimmed it to fit the front of an A2 card. I added a border of Honey Gold cardstock to make it pop off the background, and adhered it with sturdy adhesive, and a single foam strip along the diagonal edge to let just that part pop up for dimension. I added a sentiment from Big Scripty Greetings, a bow from Pretty Bows 2 cut from more Honey Gold cardstock, and then embellished with a sprinkle of Dazzling Gems in Gold to finish off! Here is a closer look at these finished cards:

Party Like a Puffin - Simon Says Stamp Cozy Hugs Release

Hello! Super excited to share a couple cards with you using the BRAND NEW Cozy Hugs release from Simon Says Stamp! A few years ago we briefly visited Iceland on our way to Norway for a summer trip, and we fell in love with the adorable puffins there. So when I saw the cute new Party Like a Puffin set, I was SUPER excited to play with it! And of course...I had to make 2 cards, not just one! :)

I started off by stamping all the fun images I wanted to use. I thought it would be fun to do something a bit different, so I stamped them in Versafine black ink, then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Hard to see in the photos, but it gives them such a fun bit of shine!

Next, I used Copic markers to color the images in. I kept it pretty simple, and used some bright and happy colors - fit for a party of course!

I die cut all the images, then stamped and heat embossed sentiments the same way as the images, and die cut those with their coordinating dies as well where that applied.

Next, I wanted to create a bit of a fun background for them. I used the new Snowfall and Banks stencil to do this. I used the bottom edge to mask off and create a blended sky - using Distress Oxides in Abandoned Coral, Shaded Lilac, and Mermaid Lagoon.

I then used the other portion of the stencil to add embossing paste to create a snowfall over the blended background. SOOO fun!

Once those backgrounds dried, I trimmed them down a bit to fit on my cardfronts. I added my images and sentiments using foam adhesive for a bit of dimension.

I then layered those on white carbases - layering up some paper scraps to add a bit of dimension on those, but without adding as much dimension as foam adhesive.

Finally, a few little Glacier jewels from Pinkfresh finish these cards off! I love the bright happy feel to them all! What about you - are you a fan of puffins too?!?

Hanging Garden Slimline Card - Pinkfresh Studio Facebook Live

Good morning! Dropping by today to share slimline card I made last week for Pinkfresh Studio's Facebook Live. I used an older stencil, and some newer dies and stamp set to create this card - mixing in some gold embossing paste for one of the layers on the stencil! You can watch the replay HERE if you want to see more details.

I used the Hanging Garden stencil on two sides of a long panel of cardstock, trimmed to 4 1/4" by 10", and layered ink colors, then some gold embossing paste for the final layer. I had one I had done in advance that had time to dry, so I pulled that out and die cut it with the largest Slim Stitched Rectangles die to create my panel.

Next, I die cut the gorgeous Ornate Circle die from matte gold cardstock, and a couple extra times from white to build up a bit of dimension. I layered them together to place in the center of my panel, popped up with foam as well.

Can you see that lovely texture from the embossing paste? So fun and dimensional!

A pink slimline cardbase, sentiment from Heart Smiles stamp set, and a few of the newest Clear Drops: Iridescent finish this card off!

Happy Thoughts - Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit

Good morning! I'm popping in today with another card using the BRAND NEW January 2022 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Warmest Wishes! This month's kit frosty, wintry, and fun! The included stamp set by the same name is full of adorable images and sweet sentiments, there is some cute pattern paper, some fun sparkly elements, a beautiful stencil and embossing folder, glitter paste...that's all not to mention the cardstock, envelopes, and more!

Today is a clean and simple card featuring a favorite color combo of mine - teal and gold!

I used the Scattered Snowflakes stencil and Seafoam Glitz Glitter gel from the kit to create my background. It is such a pretty shade, and a fun hint of matte sparkle - perfect for these snowflakes! I let it dry thoroughly, then trimmed the panel down to fit on my cardfront.

The sentiment from the stamp set in the kit is heat embossed in gold on a strip of vellum, wrapped around the front of the panel and adhered in the back. I popped that panel up with foam adhesive on a white cardbase, then added a few Sparkling Champagne Metallic Pearls from Pinkfresh Studio to finish it off!

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can see it all HERE:

I think this would also be lovely in silver instead of gold...even if I happen to be a bit partial to the gold!

Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release

Good morning! Today is an amazing blog hop to celebrate Pinkfresh Studio's Holiday Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release! If this release doesn't have you humming Christmas songs, I don't know what will! You aren't going to want to miss a stop along the way - TONS of inspiration and prizes up for grabs! YAY!

As always, there is also a shipping promo - FREE US Shipping with $75 purchase, or discounted shipping for our international friends. Details and coupon codes are on this graphic:

I managed to get several cards in - amazing how quickly playing Christmas music in the background gets your creative juices flowing, anyone else?!?

I love these gorgeous new Ornament Layering Stencils - I actually put in a wish for layering ornament stencils, and these fabulous things were the result! And... coordinating dies just make them that much better! I stenciled them in a bright and happy color scheme, and die cut with the Coordinating dies. I saved the "Merry Christmas" word at the bottom of the stencils for another card later.

I layered the branch and ornaments on a circle (it is actually leftover negative space from the final card I'm sharing today - from the Happy Holidays Circle Frame die). I used foam adhesive for lots of fun dimension.

Background is one of the gorgeous new hot foil plates - Diamond Hot Foil Plate - that I know is going to be fabulous as a staple for much more than holiday cards! I also trimmed it down using the largest Stitched Rectangles die. I added the circle with more foam adhesive to continue on the feeling of dimension.

Mounted everything on a coordinating green cardbase, added a few sparkly jewels on the ornaments, and around the edges, and finished off with a sentiment from the new (and AMAZING!) Perfect Sentiments: Holiday hot foil and coordinating die. I also added a secondary sentiment from Thrill of Hope stamp set.

Another item from this release that I made a wish for some time back - layering tree stencils! The new Wintry Forest is SOOO fun and amazing! I can't wait to stencil it in ALL the colors!

For my first card with it, I thought it would be fun to just use one single ink color, and do each layer of the trees in gradually deeper tones with the same ink. I chose Olive for this first try - and LOVE how it came out!

Once I stenciled the trees, I used the final layer to add white embossing paste for a bit of texture, and added some gold splatters for sparkle. I then popped it behind a Blanket Stitched Oval to create a window, and mounted it on a deeper green cardbase.

I used another one of those Perfect Sentiments: Holiday, again popped up with foam adhesive, and as before, another secondary sentiment from Thrill of Hope stamp set, heat embossed in white on black, and trimmed into a banner shape.

Final touch on this card is a few Metallic Gold Pearls to coordinate with the gold splatters!

And finally - more happy and non-traditional colors!

The base of this card is some aqua cardstock with the new Diagonal Stripes hot foil plate over it with Prism hot foil - the color of this foil is pretty much silver with a hint of reflective rainbow hints. Sooo pretty!

I added the new Happy Holidays Circle frame, stenciled in soft colors, and then stamped over the top and heat embossed in gold. I love that the sentiments have a coordinating die as well!

The secondary sentiment I just heat embossed on a strip of colored cardstock, and then finished off with a few more Metallic Gold Pearls.

To add the dimension to these pieces, I die cut them 3 times, and layered together instead of using foam adhesive. Just gave me a bit more of a stable piece, and easier than trimming down lots of little pieces of foam tape!
