The sun hasn't been around much. Oh, we've had parts of days where I can find it.
It comes streaming in the south window of mom's bedroom and I take full advantage of it.
But, it hasn't been around for awhile. It's just been a lot of gray. Mom says if the sun would shine, her furnace wouldn't work so hard. She says she'd just like to see blue skies for a change.
I like it when I can sit in the living room on the top of my tree in the sun and watch the world go by. Is it spring yet?
Love,
Pilchard

What Do You Want Me to Do?
Mom went to the grocery on Saturday. We got a blizzard through here starting on Saturday night and she couldn't get out on Sunday or Monday morning until the neighbors came by with those really noisy machines which opened up the driveway so she didn't have to shovel.
It's fine when the noise is in the driveway down by the street. I'll even sit in the window and watch. But when they get up near the house, well, both Mija and me will go hide to get away from the noise.
So mom brought home a bunch of these paper bags.
She likes using them when she cleans our litter boxes because they sit upright. She dropped one on the floor for me to sniff.
There were some interesting smells. I sniffed all around the bag.
So now what? It's a bag. I've sniffed it all over. I even went inside to sniff, but it's boring in there. Mom says I'm silly, that cats love paper bags. Meh. Whatever.
Do you like paper bags? Am I missing something here?

What Is This?
Mom went grocery shopping on Saturday. When she came home, she left the back door open while she unloaded the car. I came to see what was going on and she called to me to come outside onto the deck.
Whoa. What is this stuff?
Okay, I've come over here to say, "Hi" and get an ear scratch. I do not think I like this.
I'm going back inside. This stuff is cold.
I hope you don't have to be out in this.
See you next week.

Comfortable
It's so very, very cold right now. Mom says, when it gets cold like this, she doesn't like to do much. She spent Sunday afternoon in the recliner watching football on TV, and she doesn't usually do that. This kind of football was different than the other times. She didn't yell or jump up and down like she does when she watches the Iowa Hawkeyes. She just sat in the chair, occasionally reading, sometimes napping.
Our furnace has been going non-stop to keep the house warm. She moved our food out of the kitchen and the cold tile floor to the living room where it's warmer. I have to tell you, though, the warmest place in the house is on mom's lap.
Stay warm.
See you next week.
Pilchard.
