I don't know about the rest of you, but Thursday could just not happen, as far as I'm concerned. I get so scared with the sounds of multiple footsteps on the front porch and then the doorbell rings and if mom doesn't get to the door instantly, the doorbell gets pushed again and again. Mom opens the door and these people yell "Trick or Treat!" It's enough to keep me under the cedar chest in Mom's office and to keep Mija in the closet in the same room. Mom does her best to give us places to hide and ear and chin scratches and extra treats to help us stay calm but Mija and I still get scared.
Mom's been making what she calls a "costume". I guess she's going to wear it to work, that place she goes during the day most of the week. (She'll have a post, she says, up on her blog Thursday afternoon.) Someone asked her if she was going to dress us up. I think I heard her laugh and say, "Riiiiggghhhttt."
I have a costume already, however.
I'm going as "Invisible Cat". Mija's costume needs some work.
Happy Halloween.
See you next week.
