Recitation

I don't like my claws clipped. As nice as mom is, she has to hold me tightly in her lap and push on my paws. Then she takes this clipper and, *snip*. I think it's being held, tightly, that bothers me. Not even copious ear scratching and extra treats gets me over the indignity of claw clipping.

But there is one thing that's really curious. Mom usually recites this after clipping. I'm told it's called a "poem". She has it memorized.

The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

See you next week.

Cat Claw Calamity !

Tillie: Well, by now you have probably heard about my ear and
how Julie  put a tear in it with her claw!
If not, you can read about it here.

Mom was not too happy to come home and see my war wound.
I was not happy either because I had to suffer all the treatments
 she put me through!

There was soaking with water!!!!! Yuck!
Then she put on peroxide! Then! Then she put on ointment!
You can see a red mark on my ear.
Mom did not get any good pics of the tear.

While I was not happy with the weeks days of treatments,
I am pleased that  my ear is healing and looks  almost as good as new.
There will not be any hole on my ear. See!!!
Mom is pretty happy too.

We still growl at each other. Sometimes Julie hisses at
Georgia too. Georgia simply avoids Julie.
Me, I want to whap Julie back!
Mom: Don't even think about it Tillie!!

Julie: Gee, this integrating stuff is hard!  I want to be top cat.
Apparently, so does Tillie. We'll see how it goes.

I'm not going to worry too much because I know Mom likes me.
I'm cute and she knows it ,heehee
I think I better avoid Tillie though, just to be on the safe side.
Mmmmm, this porch is a nice place to hang out!
