Caturday Art: Born to be Wild Edition

I am Diamond, Queen of the Jungle, hear me ROAR!

Truly, I was born to be wild, but...there are some things to be said about living in house as well. Like not having to be out in rain and getting my beautiful furs wet.

Plus getting scritched and well...Temptations. There are no Temptations in the jungle. But other than that...

In the Jungle

Of course, for House Panther, any garden can be a jungle and I have my territories that rule over with iron claw. They can be pretty overgrown too.

Especially in Florida. In fact, lawn was looking quite a bit overgrown earlier in week but lawn men came and cut it. I do not like lawn men. The noise from their engines upsets me. Cannot take proper nap when they make all that noise.

How dare they keep Queen of the Jungle awake when I tryin' to nap on breakfast bar!

Prehistoric

In real jungle I not have to worry about lawn men. I would be the one making all the noise. Or maybe Tabby Brofur would, cause he never shuts up!

RAWR!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by. I hope you have enjoyed this look into the life of ferocious jungle queen!

Be sure to stop by all the rest of the blogs on this Caturday Blog Hop. This House Panther now sleep tonight (and Sunday too!)

Our artwork was done in PSPx5, and all of the graphics made the by human and are ©Digicats (& Dogs).

Spring

It's finally spring here. Mom washed the inside of some of the windows and then threw them open to let the breeze go through the house. A couple she washed were in her office. I like the smell of spring breezes. An open window was so irresistible.

Mom couldn't see me at first because of the way the windows are divided. She got a little worried I'd jumped off the deck. I'm not allowed to do that. No mom. I'm right here.

There are so many smells. I'm just checking things out. Are you going to come out and wash the outside of the windows so I can really see out when I sit by the window?

I explored the deck railing just a bit farther from the house.

Mom said this was as far as I could go. Actually, this is fine with me. There can be some loud noises, like the motorcycle of the guy who lives next door, that scare me. Mom gave me a combing today too, to help get rid of my winter coat and the breeze through my fur was really nice.

After awhile, though, I'd rather be closer to mom so I can have ear scratches, so I came inside.

She said the window will stay open unless it gets too chilly for her so I'm welcome to stay here all day. My sister isn't interested in going out on the deck. She would rather sleep in the chair on the other side of mom.

Hooray for spring! How is it by you?

Love,

I'm Ready For My Close Up, Mr. DeMille

Mom never took care of long-haired cats before I came to live with her. Part of caring for me involves combing my fur. She had to do it yesterday because I had a mat develop at my shoulders.

I don't like being combed and having these things removed. It tugs. It pulls. It can hurt. Sometimes, mom has to hold me down if I refuse to be combed and the mat gets too big. This one wasn't and it came out with the first pass of the comb.

Still, I don't like it.

Mom's been letting us come out onto the deck when she gets home from work. It's been really nice outside. She crochets while we wander about. I like to sit on the deck railing.

Okay. I guess that combing does make me look good. I'm practicing "staring off into the backyard".

See you next week.

Basics of Grooming

A good dirt bath is necessary to maintaining a nice, glossy coat!
