This yarn is produced from BFL lamb wool. I found out that BFL is the abbreviation Blue Faced Leicester. Because the sweater is blue, too, I thought it would be an especially appropriate name. Ave, thanks for the pictures!
Lõng/Yarn: BFL SW Sock (100 g/400 m), vill/wool (Rebel Yarn), 800 m

Kuivab/Drying
Valmis ja kuivab! Värv on muidugi vale. Pärast niisugamist muutub koepind eriti kenaks. Loodetavasti saab korralikke pilte nädalavahetusel. Mul kulus peaaegu 2 vihti (200 g e 800 m), järele jäi mõni meeter.
Finished and trying! The colour is not true here. After moistening the fabric looks especially nice. Hopefully, I will have proper pictures taken during the weekend. I used up almost 2 skeins (200 g or 800 m), some metres remaining.
Alumine pilt on õigemate värvidega.
The colours look more true in the bottom picture.

Jälle lõngade võrdlus/Comparing yarns again
Küsimus kerkis seoses ühe õpetuse testkudumisega. Jutt on sellest sviitrist.
The question popped up in connection with testing of a pattern of mine. It is about this sweater.
Teatavasti on Aade Lõng 8/2 täisvillane, 100 g/400 m. Milles viga?
As you may know, Aade Lõng 8/2, 100 % wool, 100 g/400 m. Based on that, you could think that quite a lot of sock yarns will do the job. However, some testers took a yarn in a similar weight and did not get the right gauge. What is wrong?
Sinine lõng on Superwash BFL Sock Yarn (RebelYarn), 100 g/400 m, täisvillane.
The blue yarn is Superwash BFL Sock Yarn (RebelYarn), 100 g/400 m, pure wool. The purple one is Aade Lõng 8/2, also pure wool and of the same weight. Of course, fiber matters (compare mohair and wool of the same weight) but not only this. Here you can see that Aade Lõng is more airy, not so even and not so tightly twisted. Therefor, one should look for a slightly thicker yarn and certainly with a relatively weak twist. One of my test-kniters has established that Baby Alpaca Silk by Drops suits well (50 g/167 m). Yet another candidate is Yorkshire Tweed by Rowan, 25 g/110 m. We shall see whether the right gauge can be achieved with it but in general I think the yarn choice is right (not very densely twisted, airy).

Muster/The stitch pattern
So the stitch pattern is like this. Stockinette or reverse stockinette would be most suitable, too, but I opted for these zigzags to make knitting more exiting.
As you can see, this is not a kind of yarn that "sets itself" into colour patterns. This one is somewhat similar to Madelinetosh that I have used here but the variation of shades within one colour is wider here.

Lõngade võrdlus/Comparison of yarns
Mitmevärvilise lõnga puhul on oluline, kuidas värv jaotub. Kas ühe värvi jupid on pikad või mitte ja kas on lihtsalt pisut säbruline, ebaühtlane värv või on selgelt näha, kus lõpeb üks värv ja algab teine.
It is important in working with multicoloured yarn how colours are distributed. Whether colour sections are long or not and whether the colour is somewhat uneven or it is rather clear where one colour ends and another one starts.
Selleks on vaja lõnga vastavalt kerida. Ülemisel pildil on eesti villane (Aade Lõng Artistic 8/2). Värvijupid on üsna pikad. Mul on juba mõtteid, lähiajal näitan.
For this purpose you have to wind yarn accordingly. In the top picture there is Estonian wool (Aade Lõng Artistic 8/2). The colour sections are rather long. In the bottom picture you see SW BFL sock yarn by rebel Yarn (100 g/400 m). While judging by the picture I posted a couple of days ago it was not clear whether the colour transitions are long, here you can see that the alternation is rather dense. Thus, a stitch pattern is needed that would not "argue" with the yarn colours and would demonstrate the beauty of the yarn. I already have some ideas and will share them with you in the nearest future.
