Another baby we hoped to adopt fell through.  It has been a rollercoaster of a month and it has ended with a broken heart.  I don't know if my heart can handle this again.

I'd like to introduce you to our new Bishop...

Yup, my husband is now the Bishop of our ward and he's going to do fabulous!!  He has been pretty overwhelmed for the last couple of weeks but now that it is finally official I think it has taken a load off.  It was a real neat experience yesterday to see the immediate support we felt from the ward.  So many people sustaining Paul and telling us that they knew beforehand that Paul would be the Bishop gave both of us so much comfort.  It was a neat experience as I'm sure we'll have many in the next five years.  

So far, anytime someone calls him Bishop I chuckle - that's going to take some getting used to.  

He's a good, good man and I have no doubt he's going to put his heart into this calling and will do a great job!  It's me that I'm worried about - I've got to put every effort into not complaining when duty calls.  Who knew that I would be a Bishop's wife?  The Mother of the Ward, for that matter.  

Whatever Shall We Do Now?

Having a pool in AZ in the summer is absolutely dreamy.  But you can only swim so much and the rest of the time is spent indoors.  So.......what should we do?  I had a few tricks up my sleeves for this summer - some have been a hit and some have not (ie. the summer workbooks).  One of the big hits was decorating cupcakes.  I bought all sorts of junky candy and let the kids have a heyday.  I feel like such a better mom when I have tricks up my sleeves.  The only problem is I'm running out of tricks.   I do love having my kids home for the summer and I feel like time is running out before they grow up a little more.

Fourth of July Weekend

We had a great weekend with great friends.  Seriously, we have great friends - the kind of friends where you just feel good when you're around them.  Hopefully we're that kind of friends to them.  Anywho, we had a weekend where the kids played all day long in the creek, ate great food, had great conversation, enjoyed cooler weather,  and really tried to relax.  

Paul and I have had a lot on our minds lately so it was great to get away and be a bit distracted.  You may ask, "What has been on your minds?"  Well, maybe to be discussed later - just stay on the edge of your seat until then.  All I can say is that I have a rockstar of a husband and fabulous kids.
