Do you want to join the blog hop? Here is what you have to do:
All you need to do is visit EVERY blog site on the list that you find on the Scrap FX blog , leave a comment or “follow” the blog. Each DT member will have a technique project ready for you, to give you inspiration on how to use chipboard, or how to decorate chipboard, where you may leave a comment.
Today I am going to show you how to make chipboard a part of you background.
Here is my technique inspiration for you!
1.What you need is:
- a cardstock
- Chipboard piece
- a texture stamp
- sea salt
- gesso and modeling paste
- Colorspray/colormist (not in the photo)
2. Glue your chipboard piece on to the cardstock, and cover it with gesso.
Let it dry (I used a heat gun)
3. Then cover the chipboard with a thick layer of modeling paste, and some of the area around it.
4. Before drying it, take a texture stamp ( I used a brick wall stamp), and press it into the modeling paste and over the chipboard. Then dry.
5. Put on some sea salt, on both the chipboard and the background.
6. Choose a colorspray (as you can see, I went with turquoise).
Spray it on to the chipboard and the background around the chipboard piece.
7. To soften the edges, I sprayed it with some water, before putting on some more color.
8. Then I used the heat gun (still with the salt on).
When it was completely dry, I used a brush and got all the salt of.
Leaving a pattern on the chipboard and background.
9. Done!
Here is the finished layout:
