Masculine Card

Hello creative people!
Today I have a masculine card to show you.
I recently got these little gears from Temu
and thought it was time to use some of them.
I love how this card turned out.
I have this wonderful burlap "paper" in my stash and wanted
to use some of it.  It has a paper lining on the back,
so I frayed the edges and cut the edges of the paper off.
I then glued it to the card base with 3 in 1 glue.
3 in 1 glue is one of my favorites and holds just
about anything.
I then arranged the gears and used the 3 in 1 to adhere
them also.
The "thinking of you" sentiment was stamped onto a
scrap of kraft card stock, trimmed down and inked around
the edges, then adhered to the front of the card.
I'm very happy with how it turned out and next time I
need a masculine card, I'll have one at the ready.

Thanks for stopping in today to see what I've been up to.
I hope you have been inspired in some way
and will come back soon.
Until then.
use your stash!

Father's Day or Any Time Cards

Hello crafty people!
Today I'm showing you the cards I made for Father's Day.
I think they would work for any occasion, just change
the sentiment and you'll have the card you need.
I used a die that I have in my stash for this card.
I cut the hexagon shapes in a few different papers.
I then glued the outline to a piece of burlap paper,
I used different sizes and patterns to fill in some of
the spaces and glued them down.
Added the sentiment and glued the whole thing
to a kraft card base.
I really love how this turned out.
Great masculine card.
This die was one I bought from Temu.
My friend Judy gave me the die to cut this one
out.  I used a blue piece for the outline and a piece of
the Disney paper for all the inside pieces.
Now I also have the outline and blue pieces for another card.
My grandchildren gave this one to their Daddy for Father's day.
This die is great for all kind of cards.
This die is from Kokorosa but I wasn't able to find
it on their site.  Maybe it's just me, or they have discontinued it.

Thanks for stopping by to check out what I've been up to.
I hope you've been inspired in some way and will come
again soon.
Until then,
play with some dies.

Congrats Card with Mulberry Paper

Hello!
Today I have a very simple, but beautiful card to show you.
I love the look of torn mulberry paper.
To tear mulberry paper, use your wet finger or a
wet paint brush and run it along where you want to
tear it.  Once it's wet just pull it apart,
this will give it the feathery edges like on this card.
The 'congrats' was heat embossed with white
embossing powder onto gold metallic card stock.
I simply layered the mulberry paper onto some metallic
gold card stock, added the greeting and adhered it to
a card base and the card was done.
So quick and easy and any greeting could be used
on this type of card.
You can make it masculine or feminine, whatever
you are in need of.

Thanks for stopping by today and checking what I've
been up to lately.
I hope you will come again soon.
Until then,
experiment with different kinds of paper.

Birthday Card

Hello!
It looks like fall is here, at least in our area it is.
How about in your area?
Today I'm showing you a card I made for my daughter's
boyfriend for his birthday.
I started by embossing a piece of brown card stock
with an embossing folder.  I don't know who made it
as it was just in my stash waiting to be used.
theme.
After it was embossed, I used a sanding block over
the trees to give them a bit more detail and dimension.
I cut the Happy Birthday! with my
Silhouette Cameo and punched the leaves with
a punch from my stash,
using pieces from my recycle box.
Great way to use up some little scraps.
On the inside I wrote a personal note
to him.
I, like many, struggle with masculine cards in general.
I'm not totally crazy about this card, but I think it
turned out nice and I think he appreciated it.

Thanks for visiting!
I hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
use some scraps.

Hand made paper card

Hi all!
Here's another card from my "make it from my stash"
cards.  For this card, I used a water color paper background.
I used water color paints to make the panel and the piece with
the sentiment on it.  This was originally for part of a Christmas
gift and was left over, so it went into my background papers stash.
Finally I pulled it out and decided to use it.
I combined it with a piece of handmade paper.
My hubby is a photographer and does Art Festivals with his work.
A few year ago I went to a show in Pennsylvania with him and the
woman across from him was selling artwork made from
handmade paper.  She also was selling pieces of her paper.
Well, I couldn't go home without some of it. This piece
has some shimmery paint on it in gold and copper and it
is just beautiful.
I used a fairly fine paint brush to brush on some water
in a line where I wanted to tear it, then simply pulled along that
wet line, the paper tears and leaves this very organic edge.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from
Stamp On It
Using Brown StazOn ink, I stamped the sentiment
onto a piece of that water colored paper,
trimmed it out, adhered it to a piece of white card stock,
the onto the front of the card.
I think this makes a nice masculine card, although it could
be used for anyone.
Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you will return soon.

Cork

Hello crafty friends!
Today I have a card to show you that I mad for no
other reason than that I wanted to use this really cool
cork that I have.
My friend, Marie, saw a 12x12 stack of cork "paper" on
clearance and thought of me and picked it up for me.
How nice was that?!?!
I started by stamping
"Buck in the Forest"
onto a manilla tag with brown
StazOn ink.
I then used water color crayons to add
a little green to the leaves.
I used Distress ink and a blending tool to color the top of the
tag and added the sentiment with the same brown ink.
The cork is self adhesive, so it was easy to adhere to
a white card base.  A little twine, added the tag to the cork
front with ATG tape and called it done.
I like the way this card turned out and can't wait to
try more cards and maybe a layout with that cork.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you've been
inspired to try some new supplies.  If you see something
different, especially on clearance, pick it up and give it a try.
You never know what new favorites you might discover.
Come again soon.
You never know what you'll find on
