Small Poppy Card

Welcome to Kristie Kreates!
Today I have a little card to show you.  I made it
with a poppy that I had stamped and colored, but never
 used.
I fussy cut the image and used foam tape
to give a little dimension to the card.
I mounted the poppy onto light green card stock
then onto a white card base.
This is a small card that could be used as a gift enclosure,
or it could be sent through the mail as long as it's in
an envelope that is large enough.
This is one of my favorite stamps and is
from Stacy Stamps, but apparently she has gone
out of business, as her website no longer seems to exist.

Thanks for spending some time with me today,
come again soon.
Until then,
use some favorite stamps and supplies.

Birthday Cards from Self Challenge

Hello everyone!
My last post was about a self challenge,
this is a continuation of that challenge.
I had these poppy images colored and just
waiting for the right time to use them.
And I found it.
I fussy cut this image with a small white boarder and
adhered it to a blue card base.
The sentiment was heat embossed with white
This Happy Birthday sentiment is from a
Kelly Creates set
The card didn't look complete until I used a
to add the dash lines around the card.
For the sentiment I used this one from
Impression Obsession Stamps, but
I couldn't find it sold anywhere online.
Next I fussy cut this image and made a card with it.
I love the colors on this card and poppies are one of
my favorite flowers.
Again I use a Happy Birthday sentiment for this card
and the same sentiment inside the card.
I think these were the two easiest cards that I made
while doing this challenge.  What could be easier than
using a beautiful image that I had already colored?

Thanks for coming by today, I hope you have been
inspired in some way and will come again soon.
Until then,
use your stash!

Wedding Card

Hello!
Welcome to Kristie Kreates.
Today I have a special wedding card to show you.
I have known Brian since he and my son, Jaryd,
were 3 yrs old and met in nursery school.
Our families have been close ever since and
Jaryd and Brian have been best friends since.
They were best man in each others weddings and
Brian is my #2 son.
He recently got married to a lovely young lady.
I wanted to make a special card for them
and this is what I came up with.
I cut the
"wedding couple and arch"
was cut on my Silhouette Cameo with a file
I bought from the Silhouette Design Store.
I then stamped the Poppies from Stacy Stamps
 onto terracotta colored
card stock with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.
I shaded the images with Arteza colored pencils
and fussy cut them.
Their wedding colors were olive and terracotta, so
this combination worked our perfectly for their
card.
I used foam tape and 3 in 1 glue to adhere the flowers
to the card to give it some dimension.
For the inside of the card I wrote a personal note.
I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out
and I hope they did too.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you like this card as much as I do
and have been inspired in some way.
Come again soon.
Until then,
create something outside your box.

Happy Birthday Aunt Marilyn

Hello!  I hope you're having a wonderful day.
Today I have a birthday card to show you.
My Aunt Marilyn turned 98 today (Sept. 29th)
She lives in North Carolina and I haven't seen her
for quite some time now.
Covid has changed so much!
I wanted to make her something beautiful
so I used one of my favorite stamp sets.
onto white card stock with VersaFine Onyx Black
ink and colored them with my Arteza colored pencils.
I fussy cut them and adhered them to a card base.
The happy birthday sentiment is from
Lawn Fawn Scripty Words set
also stamped with VersaFine ink.
Since this card was an odd size, I made
an envelope to send it in.
I think she'll be happy to receive a pretty
card for her birthday.

Thanks for stopping in today,
I hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
make someone smile.

Birthday Card and Envelope

Hello everyone and welcome!
Today I have a card and envelope to share with you.
I needed a birthday card for a friend and chose this one
from my stash.  I'm sure I have shared this one with you before.
I was inspired by Cee Cee who is one of my favorite watercolor
artists.  I follow her on YouTube and Instagram
Creationsceecee
She has very calming videos and her work is beautiful.
I wanted to make this special, so decided to make a
mail art envelope for the card.
The card itself is an uncommon size, so I made an envelope for
it with my
I used 1070AA ZINNIAS
and colored them with my
I think it will make her smile when she receives it.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been creating
lately.  Hope you'll come again soon.
You never know what you'll see on

Challenge Swap #2

Hello crafty people!
I'm in an online group of friends and crafters
and we're doing a monthly challenge swap.
Today I'm showing you the card I did for the 2nd
challenge.  It was my turn to choose the theme
and I chose "friendship"
I got to send my project to one of my closest friends,
so this was perfect for me.
I started by playing with some alcohol inks on
Yupo. I can't tell you which colors I used,
I just chose them and got to work playing.
This is how my first piece turned out and I loved
the color combination.
I made a couple more pieces with the same colors,
but blended them a little bit more.
I then used Alcohol Lift Ink to lift the Poppies image from
the ink on the Yupo.
I stamped what I picked up onto a piece of white card
stock, you'll see that later.
I loved the colors with this stamped image,
so I started stamping on vellum and loved the results.
I cut a couple masks and stamped over this sheet of vellum.
I then laid it over the bright colored piece that
was my original creation.
I trimmed it down and adhered the vellum by
folding it over the sides of the base piece,
using ATG tape on the back to hold it in place, then
mounted it onto a white card stock base.
I use my computer to print the sentiment and adhered the
pieces to the front of the card.
I then took the pieces that I lifted the ink from and
played with them a little more, by adding some
alcohol to them and this is what I got.
I love that you can just add more alcohol, and ink
if you want, and get more use out of the pieces.
I used the 2 pieces inside the card with the rest of the
sentiment.
The flower in the bottom corner is the original
one that I stamped from lifting the ink.
I stamped it and fussy cut it, then added it
to the inside of the card.
The card was an odd size, so I made my own envelope
I lifted another bit of ink and stamped the envelope with
a matching flower.
I loved making this card and sending it to one of
my closest friends.
I think she loved receiving it too.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you learned something and/or have been
inspired in some way.
I hope to see you again soon.
Until then,
make something for someone you love.

Birthdays

Hello!
I hope you are having a good day.
Today I'm showing you a few birthday cards that I made.
These 2 were made with one of my favorite stamps.
I used 3101AA POPPIES from Stacy Stamps.
Stamped them onto white card stock with
Onyx Black Versa Fine Ink and colored them
The sentiment is
(43844) Happy Birthday Unmounted Stamp
from Biblical Impressions, sold through
This is a Stampendous stamp, but I can't find
anywhere to link it.
I stamped it onto white card stock with
 and colored it with my
colored pencils.

I hope the people I send them to
enjoy them as much as I enjoyed
making them.

Thanks for stopping by today,
Come again soon,
until then
create something beautiful!

pastel smooching

Hello!
I hope your day is going well.
The card I'm showing you today is one I made
to have on hand for when I need a birthday card.
I used this piece for the background from my stash.
I again used the smooching method to make this background.
I smooched Distress Inks onto a piece of acetate, added water
then smooched it onto a piece of water color paper,
to get a beautiful background.
I thought these flowers from
from
Stacy Stamps
were perfect to go with this background.
I stamped them with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink
colored them with colored pencils and fussy cut them.
They are adhered to the card with different thicknesses
of foam tape.  The Happy Birthday is from
Stamp On It

Mother's Day Card #6

Today I have #6 and the last in my
Mother's Day Card Series.
I enjoyed making these cards and coming
up with different looks for each one.
I hope you have enjoyed them and as
I have said before, just change that sentiment
and they can be used for almost any occasion.
Today's card was again inspired by
Jennifer McGuire
For this card I chose 2 colors that I thought
went well with the flower I had colored.
I used the single flower from
stamped it onto water color paper
and colored it with
I fussy cut the poppy and backed it with
craft foam.  I also used craft foam on the back
of the sentiment strip. That little bit of
dimension makes a big difference.
The sentiment is from the
from QKR Stampede.

Thanks for popping in today to see
what I've been creating lately.
I hope you've been inspired in some way
and will come again soon.
Until next time,
Happy Crafting!

Mother's Day Card #5

Hi crafty friends!
Now you are probably wondering why I have
made so many Mother's Day cards.
Earlier this year I decided that I wanted to make
a point of sending out more cards to my family,
so that's what I've been trying to do for
holidays.  I'm lucky enough to still have my
Mom, she is 92 yrs old and going strong.
But I also have a few sisters in law that I'll be
sending them too.
Just because they are not MY mother
doesn't mean they don't deserve a card, right?
Today I have card #5 in my series.
This poppy stamp is one of my favorites.
I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black Ink
onto water color paper.
I colored it with
and fussy cut it.
The black background is from a piece I had
in my stash.  I made this using Perfect Pearls
and black card stock.
It's hard to capture the shimmer in a photograph,
but in real life it's just beautiful.
The larger background was also in my stash,
it was made using
I simply wrapped it around a piece of white
card stock to give it stability,
then adhered it to the card base.
I love having these handmade background
pieces in my stash to choose from.
I used some craft foam on the back of the
black piece to give a little dimension.
The sentiment is from
from QKR Stampede.

I hope you are enjoying these cards,
I sure did enjoy making them.
Come again soon for card #6 and the
last in the Mother's Day Card Series.
See you soon!

2 Cards Same Stamp

Hello crafty people!
Today I'm going to show you 2 very different cards
made with the same stamp, which happens to be
one of my favorites.
This poppy image is
3101AA POPPIES
from
This first one I stamped onto watercolor paper
then colored it with my
I stamped this poppy again with VersaFine Onyx Black,
but colored it with my
I used a mask to cover the poppy and stamped
a polka dot background stamp.
I'm not sure which polka dot stamp I used,
but there are many available.
Both sentiments are from the
Cas-ual Fridays Stamps.

I love how these 2 cards turned out,
of course, like I said, it IS one of my favorite
stamps.  So how could I go wrong?
Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you're having a lovely day and
you'll take time to create something
beautiful.
Until next time,
Happy Crafting!

Sympathy cards

Sadly, I have needed some sympathy cards recently.
I didn't have a sentiment that was exactly what I wanted and
decided on "Just a note..." from Eureka Stamps
This way I could write my message inside the card.
These cards could easily be used for any type of note.
I stamped the poppy image from
onto watercolor paper and used my watercolor
crayons to color them.
I have both Lyra and Neo Color water color crayons
and love them both.
The difference doesn't show up a great deal
in the pictures, but I tried using different combinations
of reds, oranges and purple to color the flower
and a few greens for the rest.
I fussy cut the flowers and adhered them to
a blue background paper,
then onto the white note card.
I varied the size of the card a little bit
and I like how they both turned out.
Sometimes simple is best.

Thanks for stopping by today,
Until next time, make something beautiful.

Poppy Card

Hi crafty friends!
When I visit my friend, Mary, in Toledo
if it's a Tuesday we go to "stamp demo" in the evening at
The Pampered Stamper.
When I visited in April, I got a real treat.
Stacy Rich from Stacy Stamps was there.
What a talent!
She brought along lots of stamps for a trunk sale
 and when I saw
I couldn't resist it.
Ever since my hubby and I went to Italy in 2004,
I have been totally in love with poppies.
This was the first chance I had to work with this stamp
and here is the card I made with the Poppy image.
I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink
and colored it with FlexMarkers then fussy cut it.
The sentiment is from a set that I have no idea where it came from,
it is embossed with white embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Leave a comment if you will and go check out
I think you'll be impressed.
They are wonderful quality and beautiful images.
I have no affiliation with Stacy Stamps,
I just think they have wonderful stamps
and wanted to share with y'all.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Embossed Poinsettia

Today I have a quick and easy card that looks like a lot more work than it is.
I used a piece of red card stock and a beautiful corner stamp of poinsettias, made by Stacy Stamps.  I stamped the image with VersaMark and embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I layered it onto a base card of white card stock and trimmed it to size.  The ribbon is some that I got as a gift at the 12 Days of Christmas Crop that I attended at My Happy Place.  It fit perfectly with the colors!  The 'Merry Christmas' is a clear sticker that I got at the Christmas Tree Shop. I really need to go see if they have any of them left, I love those stickers!

Thanks for stopping by today, leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Have a wonderful Christmas!
Until next time, Happy Crafting!
