My Other Pages

To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

Best Buds and Dating Days

Hello crafters!
Welcome back to my blog.
Today I'm going to show you a couple of the layouts for my
son and almost daughter in law's wedding scrapbook.
Well, it's more than wedding, it's their whole relationship,
at least parts of it anyway.
This first layout is about friends.
At the top you see Jaryd with his two "oldest" friends.
On the left is Jaryd with Brian.  They are like brothers
and I call Brian my #2 son.  He will be Jaryd's best man.
On the right is a picture of the two of them with their other
friend, Garth.  We have known Garth since before they were
a year old.  We moved into our house just a month or so before
Jaryd's 1st birthday.  Garth lived right around the corner and is just
a couple weeks older than Jaryd.  So they have known each other
since they were a year old. Garth is also part of the wedding party
as a groomsman.  He will also be playing the bag pipes at the wedding.
The picture at the bottom is their whole group of friends.
They were friends in school and have stayed friends since.
This is showing some fun times with some of their
other friends
Brian's girlfriend Kelsey with Sara at the left,
Sara with their friend, Sam, at a Bills game. She's a bridesmaid.
Then in the left center, Brian's sisters, Emily and Michelle with
Kelsey and Sara.  Next is Jaryd and Sara at the Bills game. Crazy
snow at that game! They had to leave at half time, because
it was so bad. And for a Buffalonian, you know it has to be
bad to leave the Bills game
And at the bottom are some of the guys again.

This layout titled "dating days" are a variety
of pictures for Jaryd and Sara at different outings.
At their friends Garth and Hilary's wedding
Just out and about at the park.
Out at Canalside, that's me with him at the bottom
and at a work Christmas party.

Thanks for stopping in today.
Come again soon.  I'll be posting layouts
now and then from now on.
I've been incorporating stamping into
the layouts as much as possible.
I love stamping and plan to use it a lot
in their scrapbooks.
Until next time,
scrap on!

Holly Background & noel

Hello blog friends!
Today I have a Christmas card I made with
"Holly Background" (#26701)
from Eureka! Stamps and
noel from the "friends" word set(#46202)
I stamped the Holly Background onto white card stock with VersaMark ink and embossed with black embossing powder.
I then used Distress Ink and a blending tool and applied it over the entire surface.
I did this twice with the background stamp and used the same technique with the noel stamp.
I also inked the white card base, then layered the holly onto red card stock and layered them all onto the card.
This was one of those cards that I started out not having a clue what I was going to do, but I love the results.
I hope you do to and maybe you're inspired to do some
embossing or inking or layering.
I hope you'll come again soon.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Favorite things

Have you heard the latest fun party craze?
It's a
My Favorite Things Party!
This is how my invitation arrived.
A "brown paper package tied up with string"

Inside were all the particulars.
How fun is this?
Now to figure out what my favorite thing was going to be.
You may not think this is a tough thing, but for me it is.
I don't have a favorite color or food.
Don't ask me my favorite designer or perfume.
I just have a lot of things I like, but not favorites.
I knew not all the people there would like scrapbooking,
stamping or papercrafting, so that was out.
Then one evening at the dinner table
I was telling my family about the party
and that I didn't know what to take and my son asked
"What's your favorite movie Mom?"
Well that did it!  I DO have a favorite movie.
"To Sir, With Love"
From there it was easy,
add a bottle of Diet Pepsi and some popcorn and all set.
Well almost.
I had to incorporate papercrafting,
so I added a few handmade cards to each gift
and made toppers for the packages.

Here are the gifts all ready to go.
All the images were colored with FlexMarkers.
Here is a close up of each of the toppers.
"Lg Teapot" (#11702) from Eureka! Stamps
Celebrate from "Friends" set (#46202) from QKR Stampede.

"Sm Harvest Basket" (#22203) from Eureka! Stamps

"Lg. Roses" (#23301) from QKR Stampede

Friends  from "Friends" set (#46202) from QKR Stampede
"Lg Best Friends Sitting" (#5906) from Eureka! Stamps

The party was a blast!
Everyone seemed to love the "favorites" that they went home with.
We played some fun games.
We ate a lot of yummy food.
And we laughed more than I have in ages.
I have some of the "most funnest" friends!
(I know that isn't really proper English, but it fits!)

Thanks for stopping today!
Leave a comment and let me know if you've ever been to a
My Favorite Things Party.
Be sure to ask if you have any questions about it,
I'll be glad to share, just shoot me off an e-mail
and I'll be back to you as soon as I can.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Mitten Line

Hello crafty friends!
Gloves or mittens?
That is the question.
Are you a fan of one or the other?
Me?  I love my mittens, especially my warm,
soft, polar fleece ones.
Maybe that's why I was drawn to this image.
 I used
"Mitten Line" from Biblical Impressions and
noel from the "Friends" set (#46202) from QKR Stampede
for this card.
I colored the image with FlexMarkers
and decided to leave it as a very clean and simple card.
With the cold weather coming my way, I'm thinking I better get those mittens out and ready to wear.
How about you?  Gloves or mittens?
Or maybe where you live you don't need either one.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Leave a comment if you care to and
come again soon.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Noel

Yep!  I'm getting a few Christmas cards done, but I'm thinking I'll probably end up in a crunch in November or December anyway.  I've only gotten 3 done so far and that's not much of a dent in the 50 or so that I need.
Anyway, here's my most recent one.
I used
"noel" from the "Friends" set of words (#46202)
and
"Snow Star" (#84204)
I colored the Snow Star image with FlexMarkers.
I love the set the 'noel' came from.
I love the script and the size, just love everything about them.
The "Friends" set has 5 different words.
friends, joy, love, celebrate and noel
There is also another set titled "Believe" (#46201)
that has 5 different words,
believe, inspire, adventure, create and imagine.
I think that may be one of the next things I order from QKR.
Check them out, there is so much you can do with these word stamps!
These are great for using on your scrapbook pages too.

Thanks for stopping by today, leave a comment if you will
and come again soon!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Peacock

Hello!  I love peacocks!  I have had the pleasure of seeing them roaming around some beautiful gardens and they are one of the prettiest birds in the world.
One of my scrapbooking/stamping friends let me borrow this beautiful peacock stamp, thanks Jen!
This peacock stamp is from Inkadinkadoo.
I stamped it onto white card stock and colored it with my FlexMarkers.
My nephew and niece used peacock feathers in their wedding, so when I was making their wedding scrapbook, I got a 'peacock' pad of papers, this blue was in that pad. It is just gorgeous, and worked great with the peacock stamp.
I used the "celebrate" from the "Friends" set (#46202) from QKR Stampede.
I stamped it onto white card stock and then went over it with a gold pen, then fussy cut it.
I thought this card came together very nicely.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Leave a comment if you will and come back soon.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
