BIG CAT pillow

Krawka: BIG cat pillow for my daughter, huge pillow plush to cuddle and to ride on crochet pattern by Krawka

I have made this huge pillow for my daughter – they are now inseparable, she is eating, sleeping and riding on it, she is pulling the cat all over our house which is completely hilarious because the cat is almost as big as she is right now. Making something that big was a challenge, but totally worth it.

Crochet cat pillow when lying down is around 70 cm (27 inches) from the front paws to the end of the tail.

https://www.etsy.com/pl/listing/714819931/crochet-pattern-no-1910-big-cat-pillow?ref=listing_published_alert

I used 55% cotton yarn which measures 175 yards (160 meters) for 100 g, weight Aran / 10 ply (8 wpi), Gauge 18 st is 4 inches (10 cm) and 5,5 mm hook

Pirate booties - new photos

Krawka: Baby booties - Pirates, Free crochet pattern

Today I rolled my house upside down in search of pirate booties. As You may guested I found them in most obvious place that I probably looked like 5 times before :) Anyway I was looking for them to make some more pictures and couldn't stop myself to share one of them with You. I love how they look on these cute chubby Leon's feet.

Leon is now 7 months old so I need to make a correction the booties fit the babies 0 to probably 8 months. He was extremely interested in them as soon as I put them on his feet and let me tell You it was hard to make the photo and even harder to make a focused one, but we did it. We are so tired now that my son is asleep and I am writing this post :)

Let me remind anyone who is interested in the free pattern for those pirate booties can find them here:

Two headed dragon-baby rattle. Lovely handmade gift for a baby shower - cute, colorful dragon with a few ribbons for little fingers to play with.

Rattle that I created was for my son, who was still in my belly then. I have put a huge amount of love in it and I must admit that I am very pleased with the final result, and although my son is still too tiny (3 weeks) to play with it now I hope that he will love it and one day will be grateful for a time I spend to create this unique gift for him.

Finished rattle from heads to the end of tail is 9.8 inches (25 cm), the base circle is about 4.3 inches (11 cm).

My little etsy shop

I finally opened my own etsy shop with handmade crochet items. You can visit me here:

https://www.etsy.com/shop/Krawka?ref=hdr_shop_menu

For now I am selling a collection of my framed crochet pictures. Every picture is designed, drawn and handmade by me. Each of them is made with great care and attention to details. Every picture is a unique piece, I never make the same design twice, that is probably because I have too many ideas for this series to go back to pictures I have already made :P

Each piece of the picture is crocheted with a 55% cotton and 45% acrylic yarn and 3 mm hook for anyone interested in details of how I made each pictures contact me and we will discuss it more :)

Size of the framed piece is 25x25x5 cm (10x10x2 inches). There is a front glass in the frame. Weight is about one kilo. The frame is ready to hang. And let me tell You they look great hanging on the wall both from far away and from near when You can see all the amazing details and the crochet texture I personally love as You all probably already now.

I am planning to add more items soon so please visit me in the future. I will add more pictures and other items too, maybe some complicated and hard crochet patterns that will not find a place on my blog, and let me tell You I have a few of them... :)

Please wish me luck as I would love to change my blog writing hobby into full time job in witch I will make at least some money... :)

My little Pony - crochet hair clip FREE PATTERN

Krawka: Crochet hair clip - My little Pony - Rainbow Dash - free pattern to make it Yourself

Crochet hair clip - My little Pony, if You know a bit about Pony's ( and I have to tell You I don't) You will get that he is inspired by Rainbow Dash. I chose him because of the vivid rainbow colors which looks great together. I think the hair clip will look great on every hair color and the pony itself is so cute and lovely.  I hope You will follow the pattern below and make one pony for yourself and another ones for Your daughters or nieces or mothers or anyone else You can think of.

I made this little Pony hair clip for my friend. She took him to work the next day and he vanished. I just hope he ran away to make world a better place, not to do evil :)

I am curious what will happen to Your pony's, that I hope You will make with my pattern (below), if any of them will have some other interesting stories please write me an email and as always, even if Your pony will not suddenly revive and run away to the world, I would love to see the photos of Your creations. I am collecting all of the photos You send and I hope to make a wonderful gallery someday.

Newborn Hats - photo props

Krawka: Set of three crochet hats for a newborn - aviator, elf and viking hats. Props for a photo session of a newborn baby.
Time is running so fast and before I even realized I am eight months pregnant and there is so much to do for this little new baby, not only things to buy and clean and prepare but also so many CROCHET THINGS I could make for him (I am having a second son by the way). So as I made the list of things we need to buy for the baby and for me when I go to the hospital and so on, I made a second more private list of things I want to make with yarn. Lets be serious - the new baby is a wonderful excuse to make all those funny and childish and little things.

So the first on my list were the hats and I am really proud of how they present themselves I almost can't wait to see them on my little model. When my first son was born I also had the phase of making the hand sewn hats from polar. I made like 20 of them, where the most were for the newborns and to be completely honest I didn't even tried them cause I was so panicked he will be too hot or they will make him scratch or the picture will be made with flash and it will hurt his eyes and so on and so on....that I didn't made any photos ad now I don't have a wonderful memory photos to look at. I will not make that mistake this time. I will make sure to keep a few rules when making a photo session. I wrote them down If anyone would be interested:

  • make sure the baby is not hungry!
  • make sure the room where You are making photos have the right temperature.
  • make sure the lightning is good. Choose the time when there is a lot of daylight. Try not to use flash, even when baby eyes are closed.
  • for Your first session preferably choose the time when Your baby is sleeping.
  • If You are worried about rash, wash all the photo props in child safe detergent before using.
  • Don't worry if You will fail the first time or Your baby will get up too soon, You can always try again tomorrow. Be very patient and it's a good advise for many aspects when it comes to babys :)
When I will finish my baby photo session I will post the photos and maybe some additional tips.

But back to the hats I made three. I used 5.5 mm hook and suitable yarn for this hook size.

The first one is Aviator hat. I love ear flap hats and that is probably why this is my favorite one I think it will look wonderful on photos.

Krawka: Crochet aviator newborn hat. Props for a photo session of a newborn baby.

Second one is a variation on popular elf hat and i would like to call it Gryffindor Elf, my husband called it that  as soon as he saw the colors I choose ( I hate the combination of green and red together BLEH.. )
By the way it's the first pom-pom I made in my entire life, well second one to be honest I made one for practice before I used the right yarn.

Krawka: Crochet gryffindor elf newborn hat. Props for a photo session of a newborn baby.

Last but not least is the Viking hat - made when watching the Vikings show, which is amazing! I didn't exactly see anyone in the show wearing this kind of hat exactly but I imagine they would if they would have one :) So I am waiting for proposition I can make this kind of hats for the entire crew. Can You imagine this photo, where they are all wearing them :D

Bunny key chain

Krawka: Cute bunny holding the huge carrot - key chain with free pattern. Smart idea for a crochet gift.

I don't know what is it about Easter season that everything looks like cute little bunnys and fluffy yellow chickens, but it may be just because I am pregnant. Anyway this month I made more bunnys and rabbits than in my entire crochet carrier :) So I proudly present my newest creation - Key chain bunny.

In early design phase he was suppose to be a brooch, but I decided on key chain later on. I think I will make another one for brooch as soon as I will get some time. That is the greatest thing about such small projects they don't take that much time to make and You can see the effect very soon.

Krawka: Cute bunny holding the huge carrot - key chain with free pattern. Smart idea for a crochet gift.

I was looking for the other elements in store that could be used for crochet I already made: hair clips, brooch ( I have a few of these left so wait for another projects) and now the key chain.

Chocobo!

Krawka: Chocobo from Final Fantasy - crochet plush, wired inside - fully adjustable.

Krawka: Chocobo from Final Fantasy - crochet plush, wired inside - fully adjustable.

What comes from a combination of fantasy and Easter - the largest known version of chicken - Chocobo :) If there is anyone who doesn't know Chocobos are super cute creatures from Final Fantasy video games. I can even remember them from a versions they were a bunch of yellow pixels, and let me tell You they were already cute!

I just finished him, it took so much time and so much yarn ... (I seriously don't have any yellow yarn in my entire house). I wrote down the pattern but I think it will take me some time to make the complete post with pattern.

But after making these photos I could not wait to share them with you! He is all wired inside, so it is fully adjustable and therefore so photogenic. I am so pleased he can stand an sit and look great in almost every position. I think he will be the biggest decoration of our Easter table and when I say biggest I mean it :) He came up quite large but we will find the place, who cares about food, right?.

What do you think?

Sleeping dragon - Brooch

Krawka: Sleeping dragon brooch crochet with free pattern

Krawka: Sleeping dragon brooch crochet with free pattern

Sleeping dragon little brooch. It can be used as applique or hair accessory or a fridge magnet but I particularly recommend the brooch.... if anyone is still wearing them.

When I was a little girl my mom had quite a collection of different kinds of brooches and I loved them, I loved looking at them, wearing them and buying them for her on every occasion. They are a special kind of jewelry for me, my mom is kind of a classy lady and her accessories were classy and boring for my, but brooches... they were different they could have all the shapes: animals, flowers, abstract shapes or all of the above all at once and they were still ok to wear. Times changed a bit but my opinion about brooches stayed....

I don't know why the dragon You can say he just appeared on paper one time when I was doodling. All I know is that he looks beautiful on a dark jacket and that I will gladly wear it on any occasion unless my mom steals him for hers collection....
