Remembering the ANZAC's

ANZAC Day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day we remember all Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.The spirit of ANZAC, with its human qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity.On ANZAC day, ceremonies are held in towns and cities across the nation, across the world where our Aussie men and women have fallen, to acknowledge the service of our veterans. Today was especially moving as we in Queensland mourn the recent loss of six soldiers in Afghanistan.

Thrift Thriller

So I went op-shopping the other week. I was looking in the kitchen area and walked past a set of coasters. Just plain old bamboo coasters, I thought.But as I walked back along the shelf and saw them again, I thought what a sweet little carry basket they were in. So I had a peak at what the coasters themselves looked like. Then I checked the price ($2.00) and quickly snapped them up!Real pressed butterfly wings and ferns set against tissue paper, each butterfly has a little paper cut-out body!! They're all Australian Natives too!I am just thrilled to bits with them!
