Gotta Love Spring

Just a week into Spring and I'm already enjoying the fresh produce our garden is generating!
Our tomato plants are covered with ripening tomatoes and flowers. The citrus trees are also still covered in fruit and beginning to flower again. The other fruit trees are all in flower, our veggie patch is doing well and our three chooks are doing a great job at laying their eggs.
In the basket are eggs, tomatoes, lemonade fruit and some springs of rosemary. Beside is the last pumpkin from our vine this year and a giant custard apple from our tree.

Car Boot Markets

Went to the Car Boot Sale markets in my area on Sunday. Not too much there but I did manage to come back home with some pretty good loot.
Homegrown and made creamed honey, a whole container for just $5 and let me tell you, worth every cent!
Homemade mulberry jam, just delicious and very pink.
Homegrown butter beans were yummy. My favorite kind of bean.
Handmade crochet cactus in pot was cheap as and I've always wanted one!
The bunny candle was a mere 50cents.
The cute little squirrel/acorn tea set was cheap as too.

Also bought a little deer pin but you wouldn't have been able to see it in the photo.
All in all, I think this was a great market day!

Cupcake Day 4 the RSPCA

Cupcake Day 4 the RSPCA was last Friday. Dad asked me to bake cupcakes for a competition they had at his work, which is one of the major sponsors of the charity. So I baked 12 lemon rainbow cupcakes with lemon cream cheese frosting, and 12 vanilla cupcakes, some decorated with turtles and a couple as mushrooms. Can you believe it? I won first prize for my rainbow ones!!Only one vanilla cupcake was left at the end of the day, totaling $44 raised for the RSPCA from my baking alone.I'm stoked that I could win my Dad bragging rights for a whole year, and make him so proud.

Pumpkin Patch

One of the things I love about Spring in Australia, is that up in the Northern Hemisphere it's Autumn and the pumpkin harvest is in full swing! I love pumpkins! Pumpkins to pick, pumpkins to eat, and pumpkins to sew, make and create!
Here's my little pumpkin patch:Pumpkin Pin Toppers! In a pumpkin pincushion, of course...
Also some yummy pumpkin scones fresh from the oven. And because I can, here's a few of my favourite pumpkin tutorials and patterns from around the web. Just click on the picture and it'll take you there!Don't forget to check back tomorrow for Owl About Thursday!
