I can't believe this is the 10th challenge already on the Copic Colour Challenge blog! Time flies when you are having fun! And this week's color choices are very fun!
Juliet chose RV34-Dark Pink, B02-Robin Egg Blue, and B39-Prussian Blue.
I chose to use this RAK I received from Dawn (flowergal36 on SCS). This is a stamp from High Hopes called Ronda Stamping Angel. I really love this stamp and I need to order it cause she's just too cute! I colored her with the challenge colors and more for shading and such. I used a white gel pen to make a pattern on her dress because it looked too plain. She's also glittered up with a Spica clear star glitter pen. The dp was a perfect match for the dark pink color. Believe it or not, it's actually from a retired SU holiday pack called Holiday Harmony. I cut the paper so there would be that damask print and soft white flourish in the bottom corner. The strip across is Pacific Point dp. The circular sentiment was also sent to me by Dawn, and I think it may be a retired SU stamp, although I'm not quite sure right now. I popped up the center piece and used a dauber with Pacific Point ink to color the bottom part. I also used Purely Pomegranate paper and stitched ribbon. Ronda was cut and embossed with the a die from Labels Two. The white dots are adhesive ones that I got at the dollar spot at JoAnn's. Oh, I also followed the sketch from Taylored Expressions, but I flipped it to accommodate my image.

That's about it for this challenge. I hope you pop over to the Copic Colour Challenge blog and play in our color challenge this week! The other DT members have done a fabulous job again with these colors! It sure would be nice to see some of you over there. I know a lot of you are playing around with your copics and this would be a great challenge for you! And we have a fabulous prize for one lucky winner...a Father's Day stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! So come on out and don't be shy! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello everyone! It's a beautiful sunny day here in Buffalo, NY (finally!) and I thought I'd do a spring-colored card today to celebrate that! The Inspiration Challenge on SCS today was an easy one for me. The website Stef chose today was Fitz and Floyd, which feature collectibles of all kinds, especially rabbits. I remembered this image that my friend, Cheryl Rowley, gave me when we first met for coffee. She gave me some images that she had used on her cards that I had commented on in her gallery. She even cut this one out for me! How nice...thanks, Cheryl! Well, it was the perfect image for this little guy that I used as my inspiration.
Perfect, huh?I had this pad of dp from PTI called Bitty Dot Basics sitting on my table unopened and decided to go with the papers that matched the balloons. I made a 5.25" square card, and cut the dp in 2.5" pieces. This size gave me a nice white border around each one. The bunny, called Happy Hopper from House Mouse, was colored with copic markers (I have them listed in the Recipe below) and layered with PTI's Lavender Moon which was cut and embossed with a scalloped oval nestie. I painted some Shimmerz paint on each of the balloons and on the pink parts of the bunny for some SHINE! The white buttons are SU and I threaded some floss through each one. I struggled with the sentiment...should I go cute, serious, goofy? You can see I went with goofy! It's from SU's Smarty Pants set. On the inside, I sort of replicated the square them by punching 1" squares from each of the dp papers. Simple, but cute card.I'm having a surprise 80th birthday party today for my mom (her actual birthday is next Friday, the 20th). It's just a few family and friends. She thinks my hubby and I and my brother's kids are just taking her out for a nice dinner. She told me she was glad we weren't having a party for her...she said she doesn't believe in doing that! Yikes! She'll be mad, but I know she'll have a good time! Her brother from PA is coming in and we haven't seen him in a while, so that will be worth it! Have a wonderful weekend! I hope the sun is smiling down on you today like it's smiling on us here in Buffalo!

Well, I'm back with another sketch challenge! This time it's one of Jen del Muro's Sketch for You to Try (SFYTT). I just received this new SU paper called Parisian Breeze. The patterns are printed on textured cardstock, so it's much like regular cardstock. They have four different sets of this type of designer paper, and this one is fabulous! I just love the colors in it. I started with a PTI white base and used three different patterns in this pack. I paired it with sahara sand. The Tilda image is an RAK from my stamping buddy, Cheryl Rowley (thanks Cheryl!). She's a pro at coloring these Tildas, and mine isn't anywhere near her creations! I used copic markers to color her. Chosing the dp and coloring the image were a snap. What took forever was trying to decide what to use for embellishments! None of the flowers I had matched the colors I was using, some embellishments were too big, etc. So I decided to take these flowers, which were originally white, and color them with the darker copic marker. I've colored brads before to match, but never flowers. They came out darker than I thought they would, but they looked nice anyway! I placed a pearl in the center of each one. What do you think...are they too dark? Have a great day and thanks for stopping in!
Recipe
Stamps: Magnolia (Tilda), Mixed Messages (PTI)
Paper: PTI white, SU Parisian summer and sahara sand
Ink: Adirondack black, copic markers
Accessories: Prima flowers, pearls, curved rectangle nesties, circle punches, Martha Stewart border punch, dimensionals, white gel pen
I made this card for three reasons today. First of all, it is for the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. Jaydekay (Judy) is the FS today and her gallery is full of such inspiration! Second, I chose a layout of Judy's specifically to use with the cute image I received as an RAK from Dawn (flowergal). She was the featured stamper a few months back, and I commented that I loved this image. She sent me a few of them along with some others...so nice! And lastly, I wanted to make my dh a Valentine. If you look closely at what the angel is stamping, it says "I Love You". So I thought this image would be perfect for a Valentine. This card looks a little too feminine, but so what! He thinks I waste too much time and money on this craft anyway! (He's right, but he'll never see this post, so I can say that! LOL!)
I started this card with the paper...Basic Grey's new Bittersweet. I figured stripes for a manly card. Then I took out my copic marker chart and pulled out all the markers that went with this paper. There were a lot! I colored her up (I still need practice with these) and added glitter to her wings, the button on her sleeve, her hair, and the little ruffle on her pocket. The hearts were punched with a Creative Memories punch I forgot I had, and the words are from MFT's Boho Blossoms. I added the twine behind the hearts, like in Judy's card. I added the dew drops because there was this big old white spot glaring at me. They filled the spot nicely and added color to that area. On the inside, I just used some scraps and that new Martha Stewart Flourished Border punch. I didn't put a sentiment on the inside yet because I didn't have anything I liked. I don't have a lot of Valentine stamps, and I just ordered some of Verve Visual's new Valentine sets, so I'll wait until I get them to put the sentiment inside. That's it! I have another post below...another sketch challenge, so be sure to scroll down! Have a great Sunday!
