Every Snowflake...

...is a package of holiday blessings. That's the sentiment on the inside of this card. I really like that sentiment by Penny Black. I've had it for some time and I don't know that it's seen ink before today! This card is for the Sketch Challenge on SCS (SC206). When I first saw it, I knew I had to use it. I couldn't find any holiday stamps small enough to fit on the 1" circle, so I used my Martha Stewart snowflake punch on top of the circle instead. Not much stamping on this one. I needed to do a quick one because it's late and I'm tired today. The base is PTI white and I layered baja breeze and Ski Slope dp on top. I ran the small rectangular baja breeze piece through the cuttlebug using the swirls folder. The snowflakes were punched from real red paper and I placed a white glitter dot in the middle. The ribbon is PTI's Pure Poppy and the sentiment is from Rubbernecker. Very simple card, but I think it's kind of cute! Here's a picture of the inside sentiment. Hope you enjoyed today's card. I'm on a roll this week...I have another to share with you tomorrow. Nothing else is getting done around here, but I'm cranking out cards! (LOL!) Have a great day and Happy Holidays!

The Delightful Miss Candy

Isn't she beautiful? I'm thinking of sending her to all our bachelor friends! Merry Christmas, guys! I just got her and two others today from Rubbernecker. I saw Linda doing a few of these on her blog (Linda's Works of Heart) and they are fabulous...so fabulous that I had to get the three Christmas girls! I had to ink one up today and thought Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge would work with this stamp. It's a little bigger than Julee's sketch, but I think it may pass. Here's her sketch...what do you think?

She's colored with copic markers and I put glitter on the fur of her hat, dress, and boots. The dp is the DCWV Christmas stack I've been using and the pointsettia is a Prima with a glitter dot in the middle. On the inside I used a lacy Martha Stewart border punch and a sentiment from Printworks. Hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did! Happy Holidays and thanks for stopping by! I have more tomorrow!

Birthday Fishes

Hi everyone! It's been too long since I've posted something. School started for me. It's back to work...enough said! My time is LIMITED! Anyway, I made this card for my nephew Ethan who celebrated his 4th birthday last week! Bad aunt, I know! I got this stamp from Rubbernecker and his name is Sammy. Let me tell you how I got this stamp. I was on Linda's blog, Linda's Works of Heart, and she asked the question "are you glad school is back in session, and if yes, why?" Well I responded "no, because I'm a teacher and have to go back to work", which doesn't leave much time for stamping! Well, I was randomly chosen. I saw that I had won a day or two after Linda posted that I was the winner, but I still didn't know what the heck I won! Turns out I won a $10 shopping spree at Rubbernecker! Cool, huh? I got a bunch of stamps and went over the free $10 two-fold, but I'm in love with this one! I chose this especially for Ethan because last week my DH took him fishing for the first time. He had so much fun and caught four fish! Here is a picture of Ethan with the little bass he caught (of course Lizzie had to be in the picture too!).
I started the card by choosing my dp. I knew I had some fish paper, and my DH chose this one. I took the green, blue and brown colors from the paper. I matched up the copic markers to the paper and colored away. I find these markers are so fun and soothing to color with. The final product looks so professional, and believe me I'm not a pro by any means! I also used the Spica silver glitter pen on his button and the fish hook in his hat, red glitter pen on the feather, and clear glitter pen on his cheeks. I placed the main image in the corner so some of the fish could still be seen...Sammy is a pretty big stamp! The "birthday fishes" is from PTI's Pond Life sentiments. It was perfect for this card. I stamped it then punched it out with the small oval and layered it on the large oval. The dew drops were the perfect color and looked like bubbles. I got these at my LSS, Buffalo Stamps & Stuff. Here is the inside of the card. I hope Ethan likes his card. I also hope he forgives me for getting it to him so late! Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow I should have a tutorial for you. See you then!

Happy Mother's Day!

This is the card my mom and mother-in-law are receiving today for Mother's Day. I received this stamp at the recent SCS WNY stamping event I went to. You can see pictures and cards from that event here. We each received 3 stamps donated by Rubbernecker. I had seen this one before on SCS, and when I opened my bag and saw it in there, I was excited! But as I sat down to use it, I was intimidated until I saw Jeanne Streiff use it just the other day. It's posted on her blog here. I totally cased her image, but did a different layout. I used mostly the same copics, but didn't have a couple, so I improvised. This image was surprisingly easy to color once I had the colors chosen (which Jeanne did for me)! I also used her idea of sponging the image while it was still in the Nestability. You get that nice white rim around it. So cool! I used PTI's Polka Dot Basics in Pretty in Pink for the background. I was going to used patterned paper, but it was too busy. I really like this polka dot stamp. It's subtle enough but gives the background some texture. The sentiment is from SU's All Holidays and I tied it with the ribbon slide from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware. (I just read on SU's demonstrator website that the finishes on the HPH in the Spring/Summer catalog are being retired, so get yours before they go!) The green ribbon is from Michael's and I tied a piece of SU's pink taffeta ribbon with it. There are Crystal Stickles all over this card! I love shine and glitter on my cards! I also made this a 5.25" square card because of the larger image. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Mother's Day!
