Are you ready for another PMS Monday Challenge? This week's challenge is a sketch challenge and it's hosted by Tangii Crain. She came up with a great sketch for us to use this week.
The PMS DT all agreed that it was a great sketch to work with. Here is my take on this sketch.
I used SU's new in colors again in the Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. I'm just loving these two colors. I haven't worked with the others yet, but I will soon! I started with this butterfly from PMS called Buggy Sayings. I colored it with a copic marker (I think RV14) and then went over it with some Pink Shimmerz paint. Love that stuff! It "shimmerz" so nicely! I cut and embossed the image with a nestie, and while it was still in the die, I sponged some Pretty in Pink ink around the butterfly, creating the white border. I ran a piece of Melon Mambo through the textile cuttlebug folder. The dp is SU's new Razzleberry Lemonade...so yummy! (These new colors and papers will be available on July 1st, btw!) I added a piece of SU's new Crushed Curry polka dot grosgrain ribbon, some primas, and crystal brads. I wasn't sure where to put a sentiment and which sentiment to add, so I left it off for another day! I just love how colorful this card is!
If you want to play along with our challenge, please post a direct link to your card to Mr. Linky on the PMS blog. If you post to SCS/PCP, please use the code PMSMC16 (I cannot believe we are at #16 already!). Thanks for stopping by today and I'll have another very important post today...a charity digi image that you won't want to miss!

Great colors this week for the Copic Colour Challenge #9, but a little challenging for me. I'd been putting this off until the very last minute because I just wasn't sure what I was going to do with them! But I think I made it work with this great Whiff of Joy guardian angel stamp called Matthew. I colored him with the three challenge colors (and some others for shading). He also is **SPARKLED** up with a Sakura Clear Star pen. I put some on his wings, hair and overalls. The red dp is from SU's Washington Apple and the green circles are from their retired Jersey Shore dp. The base is Always Artichoke. I tried a few things to accessorize this card, and finally gave in to the buttons. They were the right color and I just used some orange floss to tie them up. The layout is from a Paper Makeup Stamps challenge a while ago, but I had to turn it to accommodate my image. I really like the way my image fits this way.
I hope you can play the Copic Colour Challenge this week. We'd love to see your creations with this color combo. Just link your card with Mr. Linky so we can all see it and comment. Remember, you don't have to use all the colors and you can substitute, but you must use copic markers. Hope to see you there! Thanks for stopping by!RecipeStamps: Matthew (Whiff of Joy)Paper: PTI white, always artichoke, Washington Apple and Jersey Shore dp (SU)Ink: Memento tuxedo blackCopic Markers: G85, 94, 99; E00, 02, 18, 31, 33, 35; R20, 32, 59; B00; YR07; W-1Accessories: Long rectangle and circle nesties, buttons, floss, Sakura clear star pen, white gelly roll pen, dimensionals
I just got my order from Paper Makeup Stamps today, and I had to ink one of them up! PMS is a fairly new company with really cute stamps! I love the fairy stamps. There are four out and I think four more which I've ordered on a preorder sale. I love coloring with my copic markers, and these are perfect for them! This is Chelly with her clover, so I made a St. Patty's Day card with her. The sketch is from PMS and it is their first one.
I was going to use another sketch, then saw this one and it was so much better for this stamp. I started by pulling out all the green dp I had in my stash and came up with these two (both retired SU). The top one is from Bali Breeze and the bottom is from Brocade Background. I thought they should have some separation, so I used Vintage Cream and punched it with a Martha Stewart scallop border punch. Chelly was stamped on Vintage Cream with Adirondack black. I used about 15 different copic markers on this! I was even surprised by how many I put back into the container! I added glitter to her wings, the clover, her clothing and even her hair. She sparkles like a fairy should! The ribbon is actually a Christmas ribbon from AC Moore and is gold but looks green with these papers. The sentiment (inside and out and the shamrocks inside) are all those $1 Studio G stamps I got at AC Moore last year. (I really like the inside..."lucky to have you!" I'll save this for Kevin. He's mostly Italian, but a small part of him is Irish, and of course he's all Irish on St. Patty's Day!) I used a circle punch on the outside sentiment and layered it on the label punch (which is Old Olive). The shamrock bling is from JoAnn's and the butterfly bling is from Michael's (all purchased last year). It looks to me like the clover she is holding is a butterfly net and she's running after the butterfly! I'm really pleased with this card, considering I almost scrapped her because I didn't like the way she was looking as I was coloring her! But if you keep on coloring, you usually get a good result! What do you think? I have no business making a card when I have some papers to correct! Yikes! Thanks for stopping by!
