Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop and Release Day

Hi everyone! Are you having fun hopping? Today is the blog hop for Paper Makeup Stamps. We are showcasing the January release, which will be available today! If you've come here from the lovely and talented Tina's blog, you're on the right track. If not, I'm the last one on the hop, so go to the PMS blog and start there to get all the necessary information.

PMS has a new kit this month that was previewed yesterday. You can see what the girls did with it here on the PMS blog. It's called Mon Cheri and it's everything French! Here's a picture of what's included in the kit. There is a bunch of goodness in the kit! The stamps alone are fantastic! Here's my card using it. All the papers in the kit are so fantastic, that I didn't know which to use first! I loved the polka dots in this one and thought it would be a fun backdrop for the card. I stamped the image on white cardstock and colored it with copic markers. (I paper pieced the table cloth because I didn't like the color I used on it!) The kit comes with beads and head pins to make these fun pins. I've never used this before...I hope I did it justice! The glittery flowers are oh so pretty, too! I added stardust glitter on the wings and the Eiffel Tower to make it look like it was lit up! You can't see it in the picture, but it looks fun in person!

I also have the last letter for you to complete your secret code that is worth 15% off the new release.
Did you like what you saw on today's hop? Then hop over Paper Makeup Stamps and see all the fun stamps and other products they carry. We hope we see you at our Release Party tonight in the PMS forum at 9:00 pm EST. The girls are always very chatty and there are contests and prize giveaways!

Thanks for stopping in today! Have a great weekend!

Makeup for the Weekend - Paper Makeup Stamps

Hi all! This week's Makeup for the Weekend challenge over at Paper Makeup Stamps is DON'T BE SQUARE! Well, I don't want Shaela (our hostess) to think I'm square, so I made two round cards! I've never done this (a shocker for me, I know!), so I thought I'd give it the old college try!
I have two nephews, Ethan and Kristoff (ages 6 and 3 respectively), and I thought these would be cute to send to them from Aunt Lisa. What kid doesn't like to get mail? I used the remnants from the PMS October Kit (I heard that as of this morning there was only one kit left) and some images from last year for these cards. The paper on both cards is from the kit as is the Happy Halloween sentiment. The other sentiment is from the Spooky Sentiments set (a set of four sentiments for only $2.60 for bare rubber and $3.90 mounted on EZ-Mount on sale). The spider and skull are from the Spooky Solids set. There is a pumpkin and bat in this set also.

Two very simple cards for two adorable boys! I'm sending them out tomorrow (each one sent separately, of course!), so I can't wait to hear from my niece what they say! I hope your Halloween plans are coming along. What will you be for Halloween? I'd love to know! Thanks for stopping in today...I look forward to hearing your comments!

Happy Halloween PMS Style!

Hi everyone! I see lots of you are Halloween crafting, and I wanted to keep up with you! Paper Makeup Stamps has a fabby Halloween kit that will have you making a bunch of those cards you need to make and send off to your favorite ghoul! Here's what's in the October kit.I had a hard time deciding what to use on my card, there's so much to choose from! I decided to use the glittery brads since I don't seem to use them often anymore. They are so pretty! Here's what I did. Witches should be green, right? She's colored with copic markers and then I made the background look ominous with a scalloped circle and basic gray ink. I kind of got a little heavy handed in the one spot! A storm is brewing in that area! I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch for the layout.

If you stop by the PMS blog, you'll also see cards using this kit by Katie and Tangii. You'll get some great inspiration there!

Thanks for stopping in today! See you in blogland!

Just Us Girls #54 - Technique Challenge

Hi everyone! I'm back with another Just Us Girls challenge. This week is a technique challenge, and I've chosen to challenge everyone to use acetate on their cards. You could make a clear card, use it as an accent, or use one of the techniques in the Resources section of Splitcoast Stampers that use acetate. I've chosen to make a clear card for mine. I used a piece of acetate as the base of my card. It's just the stuff you can put through your printer to make a transparency. The image, purple cardstock, and dp are from Paper Makeup Stamps October Kit. I punched out a string of bats (the kit comes with ribbon that are purple bats, but it's white on the other side, and you would see that on the inside of the card, so I punched them in black instead) and lined them up on either side of the dp. The kit also comes with green liquid pearls. I decided to use it to make a border around the perimeter of the card to define it more. I also added star dust stickles to the wings. Here's a picture of what's included in the kit.
You can see more examples of this kit on the PMS blog. The JUGs team has some great uses of acetate, too! So please stop by the JUGs blog to see what they've done!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoy your Columbus Day weekend! Stop by tomorrow when I'll have a review card for the October Paper Makeup Stamps new release.

Arelia's World of Make Believe

Paper Makeup Stamps has a fabulous kit which was released this month called Arelia's World of Make Believe. Here's what is in the kit.I used the wordart in this card last week, and today I'm using the beautiful Arelia fairy and sentiment, which are only available in the kit!
Isn't she just adorable? I was so excited when I saw this kit! That flower is part of a string of them...I just cut it apart and added some leaves. I used liquid pearls on her string of pearls. It was my first time using it and it sort of globbed a little! It was the last thing I added, of course! But I think it looks ok. She's colored with copics on the new X-Press copic paper. It's a little thin, but I love coloring on it! I used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch, too.

Stop by the PMS blog to see more of this kit. Sorry for such a short post, but I'm not feeling well and I need some sleep! Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Makeup Stamps Card Kit

Happy Hump Day! Paper Makeup Stamps has a new kit this month called Arelia's World of Make Believe. It's my favorite kit so far and here's what's included in it.The papers are fabulous, the fairy, sentiment and wordart are beautiful, and the embellishments are amazing! I just adore the colors Katie chose for this kit. Pink and brown is one of my favorite color combinations, so that's what I decided to use in my card. I started with this week's Mojo Monday sketch, but diverted too much from it to say I used the sketch! But it did give me a great starting point. The colors and pattern in the floral dp is so pretty and I love the flower embellishment. There are several different styles and sizes of them in the kit, and are really fun! I just love the way this card came out and I pulled it together so quickly...a feat for me! The kit made it so easy ot pull together.

Stop by the PMS blog and see what the others have done with this kit. I'll have another using the Arelia fairy soon. Thanks for stopping by!

A Rainbow in Somebody Else's Clouds

"Any one of us can be a rainbow in somebody else's clouds." Isn't that a great quote? It's a rubber stamp that's only available in a kit from Paper Makeup Stamps. We call them "makeup kits" at PMS! This one is called The Will to Day Dream. It's available at the PMS store here. Here's a picture of what's included in the kit (you should be able to click on it for a larger view). It's a great summer kit! Love the bright, fun colors! I used the Will fairy that's included in the kit on this card. I used just the wordart on this one. I just love this little card! I used two of the three ribbons in the kit. I ruffled the yellow one by placing a strip of Scor-tape on top of the brown ribbon and then made loops and tacked it down. I made the bow by just looping the ribbon four times and tying it with some floss, then I added the button. Easy peasy!

This card also qualifies for the current Makeup for the Weekend challenge at the PMS blog. Christi Snow challenged us to use four of any embellishment., but it has to be four of the same embellishment. So I used four of these sparkily buttons that are in the kit. Stop by the PMS blog and check out the challenge. Christi has a great sample for you! You don't have to use PMS images to play, but if you do you could win a PMS image! Hope to see you there!

It also qualifies for the Simply Stamp #153 challenge - Pleated Ribbon. Sharon posted a link to a tutorial for a simple pleated ribbon that I used. I even sort of cased her layout for my design. This is my first entry in Sharon's challenges, although I've always followed and admired her work, so I'm happy about this challenge!

On another note, I'm entered in the Ultimate Summer Challenge over at PaperWorks Co. with my friends Cheryl Rowley, Tracy Harp, and Debbie Morrissey. We each had to create a card in four different challenges. The voting began yesterday and runs through Saturday, August 28th. We'd love your vote! Stop by their voting page and cast your vote. We are called the Buffalo Stampers and you can vote for us in each category, if you are so inclined! If you want to vote for someone else, that's fine too! Thanks!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

The Will to Day Dream

Paper Makeup Stamps has come out with their second Makeup Kit (aka card kit). We had a good response to the first one called Celestial Possibilities and this month we have The Will to Day Dream. If you love the PMS fairies, you'll love the kits because the fairies included are only available in the kit. Here is what is in the July kit.

When I saw the striped dp, it reminded me of a beach towel I had as a kid. So, I decided to have Will sitting on the beach on a towel looking up at the sky. I ran the brown dp through the mesh texture embossing folder to make it look like sand. I used an icicle punch for the fringe on the "towel". The buttons look like the sun and maybe some beach balls!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope to see you again soon!

NEW PMS Card Kit: Celestial Possibilities!

Paper Makeup Stamps unveiled a new product on Thursday. We are going to be carrying card kits (and in true PMS style, we are calling them "Makeup Kits") with all the basics and embellishments that you will need to create a bevvy of beautiful cards or scrap pages! It's called Celestial Possibilities, and believe me...there is a variety of fun possibilities included in this kit! Here's a picture of what's included in the kitI just love the colors that Katie picked for this kit. It really compliments the beautiful fairy image, called Celest Fairy. The ribbons are scrumptious, especially that velvet ric-rac ribbon! Here's what I did with the kit.I just love these Beautiful Day fairies! It's what turned me on to PMS! This one I think is over the top beautiful! She's so ethereal hanging out with the moon and stars! She's colored with copic markers, and I added star dust stickles all over the image making it more ethereal. The brads have a sort of star image in the middle, matching the dp nicely. I love how shiny the ribbon looks, too! The sentiment is beautiful. Think of all the possibilities for its use: graduations, new baby, new job, etc.

So here are the details. The kit is being sold at a special price of just $20 (add $2 if you want the stamps mounted on EZ mount). It retails for $25, but since it's our first kit, we gave it a special price. And on top of that, Katie, in her infinite kindness, is adding a $5 coupon off a future $20 purchase. Here's a list of what's included in the kit:

1 Image Stamp: Celest the Fairy
1 WordArt Stamp: Dwell in Possibilty
8 Sheets of 6x6 double sided patterned paper (by Kaisercraft)
8 full sheets of 8.5x11 Cardstock (by Bazzill)
1 pack epoxy brads (matches paper, by Kaisercraft)
1 pack Paper Flowers (dont be fooled, flowers are stack on top of themselves, theres a lot)
4 yards of delicious ribbon (May Arts)
20 star shaped brads (by Creative Impressions)
4 Star Spiral Clips (by Creative Impressions)

Want to see what the DT have done with this? The Senior Makeup Artists are showcasing this kit over on the PMS blog. We started with Katie's on Thursday, Christi's on Friday, Tangii revealed hers yesterday, and mine today. Tina will be revealing hers tomorrow, so don't miss that one!

Thanks for stopping in today! Enjoy your Sunday and have a fabulous week!
