Halloween Candy Corn

Hey friends!  I had time to make about a dozen (or more!) Halloween cards.  I usually don't do this because of time constraints, but since I'm now retired (and own a bunch of Halloween stamps), I sat down and made them.  I'll be sharing them here over the next few days.

This one is the How You Bean? set and the Candy Corn add-on from Lawn Fawn.  Don't you just love those faces on the candy corn?  I especially love the faces that are getting squished in the jar and the ones that have bites out of them!  So cute!  I colored the candy corn and jar with copic markers and die cut them.  The background was sponged with Distress Oxide inks to mimic the candy corn.  I stamped and embossed the sentiments and die cut them as well.  I added sequins to the background and shimmer on the jar and candy corn.  Now I want some candy corn!

Happy Halloween!

Just Us Girls #486 - Word Week

Happy Saturday!  We have a new challenge on the Just Us Girls blog.  It our word week and Carol chose "movement".  What a fun word and so on trend too!

When this magic picture changer die from Lawn Fawn came out, I IMMEDIATELY bought it!  And when I got it, I IMMEDIATELY made two cards with it!  I think this was the first one which was made a while ago.  I also made this one.  I also made another similar to the other one that my niece requested, but I guess I never took a photo of it!  It was so cute...another dog themed card!  Anyway, on this one, I stamped and colored the butterfly with copic markers on one piece, then stamped the sentiment on another.   I used this pretty rainbow paper from Lawn Fawn as well.  The sequins finished it off.

When you pull up the tab, you get this new picture!  I was so amazed by this die, and it is super easy to use!

Here they are side-by-side.  So cute!

It's Magic!

Hi everyone!  Have you seen the new Magic Picture Changer dies from Lawn Fawn?  I'm in awe of them!  I just got these in the mail yesterday and had to create a card(s).  I did two and will post the other one tomorrow.

First of all, I'll tell you the story behind the reason for making this card.  My best friend Maria had to put her beloved Australian shepherd Roscoe down on Friday.  It was very sudden.  They found his sudden discomfort was due to a bleeding tumor on his spleen.  So sad.  He was such a good dog and only 10 years old.  We all loved him (especially my hubby who would watch him when Maria and her hubby needed a sitter).  So I of course had to make a sympathy card for her and her hubby.  They are so sad about this event.

I thought this card may brighten their spirits a bit, or just let them know how sorry we are for their loss.  I started by stamping the sentiment and heart on one piece using Bristol cardstock (I actually wanted this to be on the inside, but it was the first card I made and now know what to stamp on which panel!).  This was stamped on the longer die (if you take a look at the dies, you'll know what I mean).

Then I stamped the pup on the smaller die on Bristol cardstock also.  I colored the pup with two Zig markers.  Roscoe is a mix of sort of brown, tan, and white colors.  I tried to capture that as best I could.  Next, I die cut the pieces and followed the directions on how to put it together (just go to Lawn Fawn's Youtube page to see a video).  It's really easy to do.  To decorate it, I used the Magic Picture Changer Add On dies and some pattern paper.  I just love when you pull up the tab, the picture magically changes from the sentiment to the picture.  My hubby even smiled when I told him to pull the tab!  Making him smile about something like this is a SCORE!  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed this.  I'll be posting another of these tomorrow so come back again!

Just Us Girls #394 - Color Week

Hey friends!  It's Color Week over at Just Us Girls, and Judy has chosen a great color combination.

I had this cute little stamp set on my desk and thought the colors would look cute on this piƱata.  I stamped him with Versafine ink on Bristol paper so I could color it with Zigs then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I also stamped and colored the candy pieces.  I die cut a tag from navy cardstock and stamped and embossed the sentiment.  I used a stencil and distress inks to create the background.  I sprayed it with shimmer spray also.

Weddings and Fireworks

Our friends got married yesterday and had a pig roast at their home.  It was a casual wedding.  Here is their wedding invitation.  I thought they were very cool, and I loved the poem on it.  I also loved those fireworks!  This invitation was my inspiration for their wedding card.

I used a Lawn Fawn set called Happy 4th for the fireworks.  I stamped them in Versamark and embossed them in red and gold.  I thought I had blue ep, but I didn't, so I added navy pearls to the centers of the fireworks.  The sentiment, from SU's Heard from the Heart, was also stamped in Versamark and embossed in gold.  I added a sheer gold ribbon to separate the sentiment from the fireworks.  The white paper is actually a shimmer white from PTI and it's mounted on navy cardstock.

On the inside, I added this sentiment (I didn't write down who it was from) and more fireworks.

That's it from me!  Thanks for stopping by!
