Gnome Pile

Happy Sunday friends!  I'm in a gnome mood lately.  I've purchased several of the Stampingbella gnome images.  They are so adorable and fun to color!

This one is called Gnome Pile.  I used the packaging as an example to color them.  Very simple copic coloring.  The sentiment that comes with it didn't suit my needs, so I found this MFT one that I thought fit.  It was stamped with Versamark and embossed in white.  I found some pattern paper that matched and added a panel to the left.  The main panel and image panel were die cut with stitched rectangles.  I added Nuvo drops and mounted the sentiment flag and image panel on craft foam.

I'm using the Fusion Challenge sketch as inspiration for my card.

I'm also entering this in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!  I have a great father-in-law that we are celebrating today with breakfast and dinner!  I made this card for him, unfortunately he won't see it because he's blind.  But I always make sure I make a nice card for him, even though he can't see it.  It makes me (and my mother-in-law) feel good!

I recently purchased MFT's Terrific Ties and the coordinating dies.  I die cut the three ties from pattern paper and adhered them to the black panel.  I also die cut some stars to place in the corner.  The sentiment was stamped below.  The white panel is raised using fun foam for some dimension (Jennifer McGuire's idea and don't we all follow her lead?  LOL!).

I followed the Fusion sketch and some of the colors from their photo.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!

Just Us Girls #295 - Wild Card Week

It's Wild Card Week over at Just Us Girls, and Sharyn has chosen paper piecing as the challenge.  I haven't done that in a while!  Fun challenge!

I chose to use the Friendship Jar stamp set for my card.  I stamped the jar and paper pieced the lid.  Lots of little pieces to cut!  I used paper from the same paper pack to cut the lid and the banners.  I added lots of enamel dots and mounted the main panel on aqua and yellow mats.

My layout and color choices came from the Fusion Challenge.

Time Out Challenge #31 - Grunge with an Embossing Twist

Hi all!  We have a new Time Out Challenge for you this week.  It's grunge week, and there's a twist...use embossing!

Thankfully I had this Grunge Me set from PTI to help with this challenge.  I stamped some elements on the bottom half of the card in yellow and gray and the splatters on the top in Versamark ink.  Then I embossed them with white embossing powder (the twist!).  I added the circle which was stamped with the sentiment and more splatters.  Pretty grungy, don't ya think?  Cute little square card.

I'm also playing along in the Fusion Challenge, using both the photo and the sketch.

We are sponsored this week by Stamplorations.  They are giving a $10 voucher to the winner and another $10 randomly to someone who twists with us!

We also have Ksenija joining us this time around!  Welcome!

You can see more from the design team on the Time Out blog.

Just Us Girls #249 - Trend Week: Woodgrain

Hi everyone!  I've not been posting much because I've been on vacation in Ireland!  We had a great time.  I'll post pictures later on next week.

While I was gone, the Just us Girls team announced a change in the monthly line-up.  You can see the changes on the graphic below.

So this week is trend week and Cheryl is our hostess.  She's chosen to have us use wood grain on our creations.

I just purchased a pack of wood paper from JoAnn's a couple of weeks ago and it was perfect for this challenge!  I looked through my variety of dies to see what would work with the wood paper and settled on this picnic basket.  I die cut it from the wood paper and then stamped it with the coordinating stamp in brown ink.  I also die cut the gingham paper for the napkin.  The apples were stamped and colored with copics then I applied glossy accents to shine them up.  I inlaid the word happy and stamped birthday under it in brown ink.  I cut a triangle from the gingham paper and popped up the picnic basket.

I used the sketch from the Fusion Challenge.

You can find more inspiration from the JUGs DT on these blogs as well as our guest.

I'm also entering this in Virginia's View die cut challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Fusion Card Challenge #19 and CAS-ual Fridays Challenge

Hello again!  I'm back with the last card I made for World Card Making Day.  I chose two challenges to play in this time.

I loved the sketch and colors in the Fusion Card Challenge, so I used both.

I also liked the CAS-ual Fridays challenge of chevrons and sequins, so I used this as well.

I had this little bag on that I found on my table and it had chevrons on it, so it was perfect for this challenge.  I had to trim it down because it was a tad too tall.  I wanted it as my focal point and the Fusion sketch worked perfectly.  I used smoky slate for the base and ran it through the linen impression plate for some texture.  The rest is pretty self-explanatory.  The speech bubble die is from Paper Smooches.  Did I add too many sequins?  I got a little carried away!

Here you can see how a gift card fits in perfectly.

Well, that's it for me this week.  I hope you enjoyed my World Card Making Days cards these last few days.  I had fun making them!  Thanks for stopping by!

Fusion Card Challenge #8

Hi everyone!  I hope my US friends enjoyed a long Memorial Day weekend.  I was at my cabin and spent the weekend with some great friends and family!

The card I'm sharing today I colored on Saturday before I left, but didn't have time to finish it.  I wanted to enter the Papertrey Ink blog hop, but didn't get it done in time.  But I could still enter it in the Fusion Card Challenge!  I loved the photo this week.  It gave me a chance to use a couple of PTI stamp sets I have never used.

I just love these tulips!  I colored them with various RV, YR, BG, and YG copics.  This is a very large stamp and I hade to make the card 4.25 x 6.  It didn't leave much room for embellishments.  As it is, I used Sweet Threads dp from Basic Grey which is hard to see.  I managed to add a bow and some pearls in the corner.  I also added some sparkle with a sakura glitter pen.  Hard to see in the picture.

That's it for me!  Thanks for stopping by and see you soon!

Just Us Girls #186 - Photo Inspiration Challenge

Hi everyone!  This week's Just Us Girls challenge is a photo inspiration challenge brought to us by our newest member Nancy.  She's chosen a couple of great photos for your inspiration.

I love pink and black as well as damask designs, so I brought out my Pretty in Pink ink and Damask Designs stamp set by Papertrey Ink to create my background paper.  I cut a black circle with a die and ran it through an embossing folder.  To make the design stand out more, I rubbed some luster rub on stuff (I don't know what it's called!) onto the it and it gives it a nice shimmer.  The sentiment is from Sending You, also PTI.  The flowers are something new I picked up at my LSS called Twinkle Blooms.

I followed the sketch from the Fusion Card Challenge.
Stop by these blogs for more inspiration from the JUGs design team.

Just Us Girls #185 - Color Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone!  This week's challenge at Just Us Girls is a color challenge, and Marisa chose these lovely spring colors!

I'm late getting mine done, and I had no idea what I was going to do.  When I went to my craft table, these new stamps from WPlus9 were sitting there so I of course had to use them!  This set is called Paisley Prints and I just love paisley prints!  I made my background with them in the four challenge colors.  Then I added the pink piece on the bottom.  I first stamped it with the sentiment from Stylish Sentiments:  Birthday from Papertrey Ink, then used a SU punch for the decorative edge, and finally ran it through the Swiss Dots folder for some texture.  The flower is made from PTI felt and Beautiful Blooms II dies.  I added a button threaded with some baker's twine.  The flourish is from My Favorite Things and I cut it from certainly celery paper, then added some Star Dust Stickles for some sparkle.  It's so much prettier and colorful in person.  I just couldn't capture it in the picture.  Such a shame!

I used Fusion card challenge's sketch for my card this week.  Love this challenge!

Fusion Card Challenge #1

Hi all!  I had some time this morning to try out a new challenge called the Fusion Card Challenge.  You can use just the sketch or the inspiration picture or both as the basis for your card.  I chose both.

I loved the sketch, so I used Background Basics:  Chevron Stripes for my base in Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango.  I wanted to use the pink colors, but I wasn't happy with it, so I went with the yellow and orange colors in the picture.  Then I used the Rosie Posie sets for the flowers in the same colors.  The leaves are stamped in Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi.  I used the coordinating dies to cut the flowers and leaves.  The sentiment is from Spring Hills and it's stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I love this ink for sentiments because it gives such a crisp impression.  The little crystals I picked up at AC Moore.  Can't remember what they are called!  My friend Nancy has a birthday this month, so I thought I'd send this to her.

Thanks for stopping by today!  It's back to work for me tomorrow after a week off!  Not looking forward to that!  Enjoy today!
