PMS Monday Challenge and Sneak Peek Day 1

Today is a double whammy...it's our usual Monday Challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps and it's day one of our August sneak peeks. Today's challenge is a technique challenge and was chosen by yours truly. The technique is to make your own decorative paper. I made my own paper using a technique I've been wanting to try for a while....alcohol inks. Here's my card.

First of all, do you love the image? I was hoping PMS would have a fairy with a dog because I love dogs! I had to have this one to sneak for you! Her name is MeMe Fairy and she'll be available on the 7th.

Now the technique. I followed the tutorial on SCS for Alcohol Inks and let me tell you it was EASY! I used a piece of photo paper (because it's glossy) and butterscotch, lettuce, raisin, eggplant, and latte alcohol inks and silver mixative. It literally took me 5 minutes to do.

I wanted to show as much of the background as possible, so all I added were some ribbon, a paw print brad, and the word "soulmates" from the Soulmates free digi from PMS this week. You can find it here. I thought it was perfect for this fairy and her dog.

Stop by the PMS blog and see what the others have for you. If you play, post a direct link to your creation on Mr. Linky on the PMS blog. if you post to an online gallery, use the keyword PMSMC22. Thanks for stopping in today!

My Time to Create Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone! It's the weekend....wooohooo! And it's Saturday, so that means a My Time to Create challenge! Today we have a sketch that Lauren created for us. Here's the sketch.
I love sketches...they really help me creatively. This is one that I never would have thought of on my own. I'm not one to put things on angles and such, so it was a stretch for me, but I really like my card. I won this set at the SCS Spring Stamping event we had here in Buffalo in April. It's called
You're So Punny from There She Goes. It's illustrated by Holly McMillen (Toy on SCS). I forgot I had it until a couple of weeks ago and decided to ink it up. I stamped and colored it, but it bled over the lines, so I had to cut it out and mount it on dimensionals. I'm glad I did...it gave it some texture. The sentiment inside the spout of water is from PTI's Mailbox Greetings. Holly's set has a couple that fit in there, but I wanted a get well wish so I could send this to my niece who had her wisdom teeth taken out yesterday. I added some Star Dust stickles to the waves, the spout of water, and all around the whale to simulate splashes of water.

You should check out the My Time DT blogs and see what they have for you. They are always fabulous!

If you decide to play, and I hope you do, please use the code mytimess34 if you post to an online gallery. You can also post your direct link to Mr. Linky on Lauren's blog. And Lauren is doing something new: She will feature the top five projects on her blog next week with a link to the featured designers' blogs! It's going to be called "My Time to Shine". Another great reason to play along! You could be featured next week!

Oh, and did you see my new watermark? I just purchased six different ones from Karen Giron. They were only $2 each and she was so fast in sending them to me. Love it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Cherry Pie

Do you like cherry pie? I'm not much of a pie eater, but I do like berry pies and pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving! Mmmmmm, I'm hungry now! Well, I have a cherry pie card for you today using the new release called Cowgirl Up! by Anna Wight for Whipper Snapper. Here's the set. What I like about this is all the smaller stamps you can use. This is a western-themed stamp set, but look at the fancy drink glass, the beer mug, the flowers, and that cherry pie! So many options! So here's what I did with the cherry pie.Not very western is it? I used SU's retired Summer Picnic dp for my cherry pie theme and colored my pies with copic markers. I added red stickles to the cherries and slits in the pie and green stickles to the leaves. I just love this card! I made another card with this set which you can see in this post. I also used the Taylored Expressions sketch for this card.

You should stop by the Whipper Snapper Featured Designer gallery on SCS here to see all the great things the other Featured Designers are doing! Fabulous stuff! Thanks for stopping in today!

More Halloween Fun!

Hi all! Are you ready for some more Halloween Fun? I'm getting ready for it with this new set by Anna Wight for Whipper Snapper. Here's a look at the set.
It's a great set with all sorts of cute images that make it very versatile. You can see what I did with a few of the images and chipboard in
this post.

Here's another one I've done today using this set.Pretty colorful, huh? That's what I like about Halloween...all the fun and bright colors! I started with this new Halloween dp from K & Co. It comes in a smaller 12 x 12 stack, but the papers are FABULOUS!! (I hate when papers are double-sided because it seems a shame to "waste" the other side!) I was enabled by my friend
Cheryl Rowley to purchase this pack and a few other things from JoAnn's! (My credit card was smokin', let me tell you!) I used the Mojo Monday sketch from this week and cut out the candy corn for the embellishments on the bottom. The orange dots on the photo corner are candy dots, in keeping with the "Got Treats" theme of Halloween!

Tomorrow I'm going to have another card from the other new set Anna has out called Cowgirl Up! that doesn't have a cowgirl theme to it. So come back tomorrow and see what I have for your viewing pleasure! Thanks for stopping in today!

PMS Monday Challenge

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! It pretty much rained all weekend here...it's been a rainy summer! But I have a pretty bright card to show you for our Paper Makeup Stamps Monday challenge. Kim Stewart issued a great sketch challenge for us. Here's the sketch.I thought that the Dustin Pike dinos over at Paper Makeup Stamps were being a little neglected lately (we all love the fairies and wordart...LOL!!), so I decided to use Terry the Pterodactyl. Terry is colored with copic markers to match this Lime Rickey dp by Basic Grey. I also used the new SU in-colors Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango. The polka dot ribbon is also SU's new Dusty Durango. I added some yellow stickles to his freckles and crystal effects to his eyes. I changed the placement of the sentiment a little because of the way Terry was facing, but I guess that's allowed, right? It sort of looks like he's carrying the sentiment!

You can see all the cards the DT made on their blogs (you can access them on my sidebar) or you can visit the PMS blog to see what they have for you. If you decide to play, post your direct link on the PMS blog, and if you post to SCS/PCP, please use the code PMSMC21.
Recipe
Stamps: Terry the Pterodactyl (PMS), Mixed Messages (PTI)
Paper: Neenah white, crushed curry, dusty durango, Lime Rickey dp (Basic Grey)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black
Copic Markers: E08, 97; Y17; W-3
Accessories: Crystal effects, yellow stickles, grosgrain ribbon, circle punches, corner rounder, dimensionals

Now I have another to share with you. This was for yesterday's Featured Stamper challenge on SCS. Versamom was the FS and she has a great gallery. I chose to case this card because of it's simplicity and because it reminded me of this PMS Swirly Tree stamp that I've never used. This is what I came up with. I kept the same layout and added the embossing on the top and bottom. I used Soft Sky and Night of Navy as my colors. The sentiment is from PTI's Out on a Limb. This was a fun and easy card to do!

Thanks for stopping in today and have a great week!

My Heartsssssss for You

ETA: I can't believe what I did! The color challenge I did today was from 12 WEEKS AGO!!! I thought it was today's! LOL!! What a loser! Well, I hope you enjoy my post anyway!

SmileyCentral.com

When I saw the color challenge on SCS today, I knew I had to play. The colors are old olive, real red, and black! Love these rich colors! So I went to my Paper Makeup Stamps, and decided that this Smitten Snake (which has never seen ink...ack!) would be perfect for the green and his little tail is making a heart (red!)...perfect! Here's what I came up with.
Cute, huh? I decided I needed a big red heart, cut with my nestie, and then I gave it some texture by running it though the cuttlebug folder (not sure of the name of it right now) that looked sort of "scaley" to me! The sentiment (and another one) actually comes with this snake in a set. I cut it out, rounded the edges, and then sponged some real red ink around it. I originally had started to put red buttons in the corner, then remembered these red crystal hearts I had from a Valentine's project and liked them much better! The dp is from Basic Grey's Lemonade. I like the olive and the yellowish green in it...it really pops off the red and black.

So what do you think? I really like this! I now have a card to give to dh for Valentine's Day next year! (Do you think I'll remember I have it? Not!! LOL!!) Maybe I'll give it to him today. He has a project to do for my mom who keeps changing her mind and it's driving him (and me) crazy! Moms!! Gotta love 'em! LOL! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great one!

Some Exciting News!!!

ETA: I have another post today, so please keep reading after this one!

Ok, I've been sitting patiently on this exciting news since last month, and today I get to share this news with you! I was asked by Anna Wight and Whipper Snapper to be a guest designer for Anna's new releases in July and August! I was very honored to have been asked because I love Whipper Snapper designs (I own quite a few of their fun stamps) and because I LOVE Anna's creativity. She is not only a stamp designer, she's also a photographer who happens to live on a farm with all sorts of animals! Her photographs of these animals are fascinating and I enjoy them almost as much as her creations! Seriously, check out her blog.

Anyway, Anna has two great stamp sets being released today, which you can see here. The first I'm going to share with you is called
Cowgirl Up! It's really a fun and versatile set, as the girl can hold a variety of items in her hand. I chose to have her holding the lasso in my card.

I love this little cowgirl! Anna pointed out her knobby knees on her blog...aren't they hilarious? I started this card with my dp, as I always do. I came across this in my stash the other day (from K & Co. called Bandana) and had forgotten I had it! I thought it would be a perfect compliment to this cowgirl theme. I used the color of the rope and the red in the paper to color my image. (Tip: I couldn't find the right red, so I chose one that was close and laid down some W-3 & 5 first, then layered the red over it. It made it a more smokey red color.) Her teeth and the petals of the daisy were colored with a white gel pen. I also used the white pen to add some dots to her bandana and on her hat. I don't know if you can tell, but the black mat was run through the paisley cuttlebug folder. I added some piercing, red brads and the jute ribbon. There are 12 images and 5 sentiments in this set.

Now I have another one from Anna's second release this month called Halloween Fun. I guess it's not too early to start thinking about Halloween! All the stores have their Halloween items out already! So I decided to do something different for this one. Instead of a card, I used some chip board to create a sort of Halloween decoration.
I went shopping last week with my friend,
Cheryl Rowley, and we saw these chipboard albums in all different shapes with 5 pieces in a packet in the $1.00 bin at Michael's! We couldn't pass them up, and at the time I had no idea when I would use these, but I'm glad I added them to my cart! I don't usually work with this sort of medium and I don't usually do scenes, so this was out of my comfort zone at first! But I really like the end result. I used a retired SU Halloween dp called Creepy Crawly for the house. The roof is Lovely Lilac and it was run through the spiderweb cuttlebug folder. I colored and cut out the witch, cauldron, and bird VERY CAREFULLY!! The bottle the witch is holding and the hat on the bird are separate stamps that where placed there with a Stamp-a-ma-jig. I created the black fence with a Martha Stewart border punch and the overhang on the house with a scallop border punch. I added orange stickles to the witch and bird and purple and orange bling to mimic bubbles coming from the cauldron. The sentiment is from the same set and I cut and embossed it with a tag die. While it was still in the die, I added some Lovely Lilac ink. I finished off the tag with black grosgrain ribbon and orange brads.

I think it's a pretty cute decoration. You could display it on an easel, as I've done here, or punch a hole (there's already one on the chipboard), add some ribbon, and hang it up somewhere. This set has 11 images and 5 sentiments.

Now, if you liked these, you'll love what the other WS Feature Designers have in store. They are Heather Pulvirenti, Kim O'Rosky, Leigh O'Brien, Susan Liles, and of course Anna Wight. Stop by their blogs and leave some love. If you want to see all of the creations in one spot, go to Splitcoaststampers and search with the code WSFD. Here's the link directly to it.

So what do you think of these two new releases? You'll be seeing me use them again for certain, so please make sure you stop by often this month and next month for two more new releases. Thanks for letting me share my good news with you today! Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of these new sets! Hope to see you again soon.

Paper Makeup Stamps Monday Challenge

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Monday is always a happy day at Paper Makeup Stamps because we have a new challenge for you! This week, Dawn Wheeler issued a great challenge...use pink and brown on your creations! I had no trouble with this as I LOVE brown with ANY color! So here's what I did. This is Shelby and she is currently available as a digi stamp from PMS. I believe Katie said she was going to be released in rubber soon, too! Isn't she just the cutest? I love the sentiment with it as well. This is also a digi wordart image found here. This wordart image is only $1.00 and Shelby is only $3.00!! Seriously, who can't afford that? Anyway, I started with my dp, as I always do and then colored my image from there. These papers are from DCWV called Garden Party. I just got this Saturday at ACMoore with a JoAnn's 50% off coupon (they take competitor's coupons)! I added Star Dust Stickles to Shelby and her toy duck, prima flowers with a Basic Grey pearl in the center, and the same pearls on the main image. I highlighted some of the words on the sentiment...love doing that! Easy peasy card, but I love it!

Now if you want to play (and I know you do!), you can link your direct post to the
PMS blog. If you upload to SCS/PCP, please used the code PMSMC20 so we can find yours! Please remember to stop by the blogs of the PMS DT members (located on my sidebar) and see what eye candy they have! It's fabulous, let me tell you, cause I've seen each and every one! Thanks for stopping in today! I'll have another post today with some exciting news!

My Time Inspiration Challenge and a Corrosive Challenge

ETA: I have another post after this one, so please keep reading! Thanks!

Were you curious about what the My Time to Create DT was going to do today after seeing the sneak peek collage from yesterday's post? Well, this week's My Time to Create challenge is an inspiration challenge. This is what Lauren Meader gave us as our inspiration.
I looked at this a couple of times before I decided what I was going to do. There is a lot of inspiration to take away from this...the colors, the different patterns, the layout, and the embellishments to name a few. I decided on the colors, some of the patterns, and the two red stripes going across. This is what I came up with.I just received this Strawberries stamp from Flourishes. It was part of their newest release. I just fell in love with this image! They have some real pretty botanical stamps...Sweet Peas and Sweet Violets are another two that I may have to purchase. They are so fun to color and they are just beautiful!

As you can see, I took the colors from the inspiration piece. I have a little of the saffron color in there, but mostly the turquoise, red, and olive colors. I wanted to incorporate some of the patterns in my card and found this red pattern from Basic Grey's Marrakech dp. Lastly, I liked those red stripes, so I used SU's Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon (retired). As I was coloring the image, I wasn't sure what color the flowers were supposed to be. I thought white, and through the miracle of computers, I searched and found a picture and found they were white with a yellow center. I took a white gel pen and colored the flowers with it to make it even more white, if that's possible! It's much more noticeable in person.

I added dimension by stamping, coloring, and layering the large leaves and the largest strawberry on top of the original with dimensionals. I also used a Sakura star dust glitter pen over almost the entire image! It shines so softly in the light. I added some flowers with yellow brads which I also glittered up with the star dust pen. The sentiment is from the same Strawberries set. (I've also entered this in the Copic Creations challenge blog. Their challenge is coloring botanicals with copics and Flourishes is their sponsor this week.)

If you like this, you should see the great creations the My Time to Create DT has to share with you! Stop by their blogs (most of them participated this week) and leave them some love.

Why don't you try this challenge? We'd love to see what inspiration you get from this piece. If you play, link your direct post to Lauren's blog, and if you post to SCS/PCP, please use the code MTTI03 so we can find it! Thanks for stopping in today! Have a great weekend!

Stamps: Strawberries (Flourishes)

Corrosive Challenge: Who Let the Dogs Out?!?!
I found this Corrosive Challenge blog the other day and, because I love dogs, I decided I had to play. The challenge is all about dogs, so you just had to do any project using a dog theme. I decided to pull out a stamp set I HAD to have, but never used. It's My Favorite Things Friends Furever. Here's my card.
I just thought this was the cutest stamp set when I first set eyes on it. I started with this great dp from DCWV called Nana's Kids. I just loved the colors in it and it paired up perfectly with one of SU's new in colors called Soft Suede. I really like this color! I also paired it with a strip of Brocade Blue that was run through the Cuttlebug with a new embossing folder from Quick Kutz (is that spelled right?) The bone tag was stamped on Certainly Celery and I placed the sentiment inside of it. The "dog brad" is actually a button that I snipped the shank off of. I've colored this cute image with copic markers and sponged some Soft Suede ink around the white parts while the image was still in the oval nestie. (Note to self: Get a softer brush to apply the ink or break down and buy an air brush system!) The tail wouldn't fit inside the oval shape, so I cut around the tail to the body and lifted that piece over the nestie while I was cutting it out.

I also used Amy Rysavy's sketch for this card. Love her sketches!
I hope you enjoyed this post! I just love this dog and his best friend! I miss mine...she's at our cabin this weekend with my dh and I couldn't go because I have other things going on! Have a great weekend!

Featured Stamper Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone! I'm back playing the SCS challenges I love! Today is the Featured Stamper challenge and Kelly, aka shirmcat, is the featured stamper! She's got a great style and there were so many cards to choose from, but I chose this one. I liked the theme of the card, the layout, and of course the buttons! So here is my version of her card. I kept the layout, but changed pretty much everything else. The dp is SU's retired Good Morning Sunshine. Boy, am I going to miss this Summer Sun dp! I've used it so much and just love it! I punched the edges with an EK Success punch. It kind of reminded me of the trail that a bee might leave (I was planning on piercing some holes for the bee's trail, but forgot!) The flower stems are from PTI's Women of Life set and the yellow buttons are PTI's as well. The red ones are some I picked up from JoAnn's. The ribbon was from Michael's dollar bin. Love it! I stamped, colored and cut out the bee (from Buggy Sayings by PMS), then added star dust stickles to its wings. The flowers were punched with SU punches. The background was sponged with a scalloped oval and Baja Breeze ink. The sentiment is from PTI's Mixed Messages. I'm going to send this to a friend that hasn't been feeling well lately, and hopefully it will cheer her up!

Thanks for stopping in! Have a great week!

A First Job

Hi everyone! We are finally enjoying a nice day here in Buffalo, NY! It's been unusually cool and we are aching for some hot weather! It's sunny and warm today, so let's keep our fingers crossed that it stays that way for a while!

Some of you may know that my DH has a "little brother", Brad, that he came in contact with through the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. We met him when he was 7 and he is now 16! (I say "we" because I'm as much a part of this as my DH is!) He's like our adopted child and he's a great kid! Well, Brad just got his first job and started on Monday. He's working for a country club in the area and will be fetching golf carts, cutting lawn, and doing various odd jobs that only a 16 year old can do! I was so proud of him that I had to make a card for this accomplishment! I was at my LSS last week and picked up this Riley stamp that I thought would be cute for this card.
I colored the tractor in true John Deere colors with copic markers. I don't know what type of tractors they have at the country club for cutting grass, but I thought this was appropriate. Brad knows how to operate these machines, as we have a huge one at the cabin that he has used to cut the grass. I used summer sun and always artichoke cardstock and ran them through two different cuttlebug folders. I actually started to make this last week for the SCS
Ways to Use It challenge. The challenge was to use corrugated cardboard. I had been keeping a Starbucks cup sleeve (the one that keeps your hands protected from the hot cup) for months. I think I remember Dawn Easton using it as an embellishment once, and I have kept one handy ever since. I punched a star from it with my large SU star punch. It was a little tough to punch, but it did the trick! On top of that, I placed the "Way to Go" sentiment from PTI's Star Prints set and punched it with a circle punch and sponged some close to cocoa ink around it. I added three brads to the bottom, and I was done! Very simple card...nothing fancy!

I think Brad liked the card...he smiled, gave a little chuckle, and thanked me. Boys are so stingy with their words! Thanks for stopping by today! I really enjoy your comments!
Recipe
Stamps: Tractor Riley Moose (Hanna Stamps); Star Prints (PTI)
Paper: Neenah white, kraft, summer sun, always artichoke
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, close to cocoa, various copic markers
Accessories: Star punch, circle punch, rectangle nestie, Starbucks cup sleeve, brads, cuttlebug folders, dimensionals

Raindrops & Rainbows - PMS Sneak Peek Day 4

Today is day four of the Paper Makeup Stamps sneak peeks. Today we have another digital set that is called Raindrops and Rainbows. This set, with the exception of the umbrella, was designed by our own DT member, Shaela Odd. It's a great set of made up of five quotes, the umbrella, a couple of clouds, and a rainbow. I used the umbrella and the quote with the rainbow. This quote and rainbow are also included in the set individually. Shaela really did a fantastic job with her first set! This is what I came up with.
Everyone on the east coast has been complaining about the rainy weather we've been experiencing, so I thought this card was so appropriate! It reminds me of the commercial where the guy says, "No rain, no rainbow!" I used Basic Grey's Lime Rickey dp...it's full of fun colors! I took the colors from the paper and matched up copic markers to color the rainbow and outline the letters. Since this is a digital set, I couldn't change the colors (or if there is a way to do it, I don't know how!), so outlining it was a good way to get some color on the words. I added Star Dust stickles on the clouds, rainbow, and rain drops. I also printed out the umbrella on the white cardstock and then again on the Lemonade dp also by Basic Grey. The dp is a 6" square and wouldn't go through my printer, so what I did was, using removable tape, I adhered it to a sheet of copy paper and then sent it through the printer. I was then able to cut out the top of the umbrella to paper piece it onto the image printed on the white cardstock. Where there's a will there's a way, right? I then put the stickles on that as well. I made the umbrella a tag, which wasn't what I envisioned for this card, but the images were too big for my original layout on an A-2 size card, so I had to make a 5.25" square and make a tag. It all worked out because then I could tie my ribbon to the tag. Did you notice the umbrellas on the ribbon? I knew this ribbon would come in handy some day! Lastly, I added a red dew drop in each corner. Very simple card, and I love the colors! It would brighten anyone's day!

I hope you visit the
PMS blog and the DT blogs located on my sidebar. They once again have some fabulous creations to share with you. As a reminder...please stop by on Tuesday for our final peek, blog hop, and release party. I have the information posted on the top of my sidebar. We hope to see you there. On Monday, we have our usual Monday Challenge, so make sure you stop by again for that as well! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Happy 4th of July!

This has to be the best day of the year for American citizens...the day we declared our country to be free and independent and then fought for it! And we are still fighting to keep our country safe! Hug a soldier or veteran today, or say a prayer for those in our military! God Bless America!

It's also a good day because today is
Paper Makeup Stamps day 3 of sneak peeks for the July release. Today we are previewing the monsters collection. Let me tell you there are some really cute ones out there. If you haven't seen any of the current monsters collection at PMS, check them out here. They are right up there with the Beautiful Day Fairies collection!

The first one I'm previewing today is Calder with Waterwings. (Katie told us Calder is Scottish and means rough water...watch out Calder!) He is the cutest darn monster ever! Just look at the expression on his face! Precious! I guess monsters are afraid of the water! I colored him with a green copic marker that was too bright for my monster, so I went over it with a W-3 gray marker so it matched the dp better. (That's the great thing about copics...you can layer color over color with wonderful results.) The dp is an old one of SU's called Cutie Pie. I also used Bashful Blue and Rose Red cardstock. The red cardstock was run though the Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder. I punched circles from the background dp with a 1" punch, then paired them with these Page Pebbles that I've had forever. Crystal Effects was used on the waterwings and flippers, and I added these Rain Dots to mimic the splash of the water. The sentiment is from PTI's Star Points set. Someone is out there yelling to Calder, "Just do it...jump!!" The layout is a Taylored Expressions one from a couple of weeks ago.

The next monster preview is called Caliope Camping. There are a few Caliope monsters in the collection. I especially like this one because of my love for S'mores! This little monster also comes with this great sentiment!
Another cutie, don't you think? I love the way the fire came out! I colored the entire fire with a yellow copic marker, then went over the bottom half with an orange marker, then finally the very bottom with a red marker. I then took my blender and blended the colors together. I added orange stickles to the bottom portion and yellow to the top. In the light it shimmers like the real thing! There is liquid applique on the marshmallow and the drippings, too. The dp is SU's Good Morning Sunshine paired with Summer Sun and Chocolate Chip cardstock. I got the layout from Amy Rysavy's blog and this one is by her guest designer Tammy Fielder. I had to search for it because I always print out sketches I like, keep them in a binder, and refer to them all the time! I am terribly sketch challenged, so the sketches everyone posts are INVALUABLE to me and I like to give credit where it's due! Amy's blog is full of great sketches and here's the one I used.

So are you in love with these monsters or what? If you like these, then please go to the PMS blog and the DT blogs (listed on my sidebar) to see what they've done. I've seen them and they are absolutely fantastic! So please take a look! Please remember that on Tuesday, July 7, these images will be available. They are all in digital form and will be available in rubber later as well. We are having a blog hop, and PMS always puts on a great hop with a secret message you will decipher after visiting all the DT blogs! The hop will be all day, but the party begins at 8:00 CST in the
PMS forum. We hope to see you there!

I hope you all have a great celebration today, see some fabulous fireworks, eat some great food, and spend time with your loved ones! Thanks for stopping by!

PMS Sneak Peek Day 2!

Hi everyone! Paper Makeup Stamps has loads of digital images being released this month and this doghouse and sentiment are part of a set called Home Extras. There is a birdhouse, a car, and more sentiments included in it. Really a versatile set! I chose this doghouse image for my dog-themed card. I printed out this image and sentiment on my computer, then colored the doghouse and cut it out. The sentiment was punched with the SU scallop oval punch. I ran a piece of ivory cardstock through the distressed stripes cuttlebug folder and mounted it on a piece of black. The doghouse was layered on that with dimensionals. The dp is from SU's retired Summer Picnic dp. I sponged some Riding Hood Red around the sentiment to make it look like another layer. The ribbon is something I picked up at Michael's. Loved the paw prints on it! The dog and bones were buttons that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I just cut the shanks off of them and glued them on with Crystal Effects. The bone on the doghouse has an "L" on it for my dog, Lizzie! Those are her real bones there as a prop...I hope she's ok with that! She loves her bones! I followed the Mojo Monday sketch for this week, however I had to change the orientation of my ribbon a bit. Here's the sketch.

Stop by the PMS blog and see the other DT cards featuring the Home Extras set. Thanks for stopping by today and come back tomorrow...I'll have another PMS sneak peek for you!

PMS Sneak Peeks!

Paper Makeup Stamps has a new release coming on July 7th, and this month they are all digital images! Some will be made into rubber, but for now they will only be sold as digital images. There are a lot of advantages to digital images that I'm getting familiar with...sizing and placement just to name a couple. So if you haven't tried them, I suggest you give it a try and see what all the rave is about.

Today we are starting the peeks with the fairies. I have two to share with you. The first is Scout the S'more fairy. I asked Katie to give this one to me to sneak because I am the s'more lady when we go camping or go to our cabin. The kids always know that I'll have them (mostly because I love them! Who can resist that melted marshmallow and chocolate?).

When I started this card, I was trying to find the perfect dp. I remembered I had purchased a long time ago some dp with a camping theme for scrapbooking (when I was in to that craft!). I searched my stash and found it! It was perfect! Can you see the marshmallows roasting over the fire? My fern leaf is covering it a bit, but it's still visible. I pulled the colors from the dp to color Scout with copic markers. I added Liquid Applique to the marshmallow (about 3 times because I kept smudging it...ugghh!) without heat setting it. I wanted it to be smooth, instead of puffed up. I added some Star Dust stickles to Scout and gold and orange Spica glitter pens to his buckles on his shoes and the flame from the marshmallow. Really cute image, don't you think?

Now for sneak #2. This is Jaina fairy with a beachball. The sentiment comes with the image.Isn't she sweet in her tankini? I printed this off on PTI white and again on regular computer paper which then was used as a mask. I cut and placed the mask over the image, then took a post-it note and tore it and placed that on the image. I was then able to stipple in my sand and the sky. I used Sahara Sand and Cool Caribbean. I took a brown copic and dotted the sand for more depth. IShe's colored with copics and there is Crystal Effects on the beachball (a couple of times again because I kept smudging it!). The dp is Basic Grey's Lime Rickey. I created the swirl on the front edge of the card with a Creative Memories decorative cutter. Then I just placed a piece of the blue paper on the inside of the card. The red ribbon finished it off.

There are 3 other fairies being released this month. You should stop by the DT blogs (listed on my sidebar) or on the PMS blog to see what they've created. There are some fabulous creations as usual! I will be back on the 4th of July with another sneak (I may even have one tomorrow if I get it in gear!), so please stop by again.

Remember...the release will be on Tuesday, July 7th. There will be another blog hop that day and release party at the PMS forum in the evening. We hope to see you all there! Thanks for peeking in today!
