Copic Colour Challenge #12 and PMS Sneak Peek Day #5

So today is the Copic Colour Challenge #12! Aren't these colors so soothing? Shell picked them this week and did a great job of it! Here's my take on these colors.

Since this is day #5 of the Paper Makeup Stamps sneak peeks, I decided to combine the two challenges...kill two birds with one stone, so to speak! This is Ashlie, one of the four new fairies, and the sentiment is one of ten new fairy sentiments...all being released tomorrow! I cut up this sentiment to make it fit in that area on my card. She's colored with copic markers (this is a copic color challenge, after all!) in the challenge colors. Can you see that I even colored her feet so they look dirty? She just seemed like she needed to have dirty feet after running around barefoot with that snail all day! I paired it with SU's retired Linen Prints dp, close to cocoa, and apricot appeal cardstock. The cocoa cardstock was run through the cuttlebug with the floral screen folder.

Ok, so what can you do with these copic colors? We'd love to see your work! Please stop by the
Copic Colour Challenge blog and see what the other DT girls have done! They really do an amazing job each week with their cards! All you have to do is link your direct post to Mr. Linky so we can go right to your card.

Also, don't forget about tomorrow's PMS blog hop! It starts in the morning and runs straight through to the release party, which will be held at the new PMS forum! Read about it
here on my blog and here on the PMS blog! Someone will win the entire May release! Wow!

I'll be looking for you at both the Copic Colour Challenge blog and the PMS blog hop and party! See you then and thanks for stopping by!

Copic Colour Challenge #11

Are you ready for another Copic Colour Challenge? This week's colors were chosen by Chris and are once again fabulous to work with!

So this is what I came up with using these colors. I just purchased this Whipper Snapper stamp called Chester from my LSS, Buffalo Stamps & Stuff over the weekend. These stamps are so fun to color, and I thought he would be perfect for these colors! I used Tempting Turquoise (pretty close match to the BG13 Mint Green copic color), Summer Sun, and Flock Together and Good Morning Sunshine dp. I added lots of Star Dust stickles to my image and also the turquoise dp. It looks so pretty in the light.

I used this week's Mojo Monday layout for this card.
Great layout! The sentiment is from PTI's Handwritten Notes. I wanted "Hi There" and I couldn't find that in my stash of stamps! I know it's there, but I just couldn't find it! So "Hi Ya!" worked fine.

So stop on over to the Copic Colour Challenge blog and check out what the rest of the DT members have done. There are some great creations to look at once again. Let's see what you can come up with this week with these copic colors! I look forward to seeing them! Thanks for stopping by!

Copic Colour Challenge #10

I can't believe this is the 10th challenge already on the Copic Colour Challenge blog! Time flies when you are having fun! And this week's color choices are very fun! Juliet chose RV34-Dark Pink, B02-Robin Egg Blue, and B39-Prussian Blue.

I chose to use this RAK I received from
Dawn (flowergal36 on SCS). This is a stamp from High Hopes called Ronda Stamping Angel. I really love this stamp and I need to order it cause she's just too cute! I colored her with the challenge colors and more for shading and such. I used a white gel pen to make a pattern on her dress because it looked too plain. She's also glittered up with a Spica clear star glitter pen. The dp was a perfect match for the dark pink color. Believe it or not, it's actually from a retired SU holiday pack called Holiday Harmony. I cut the paper so there would be that damask print and soft white flourish in the bottom corner. The strip across is Pacific Point dp. The circular sentiment was also sent to me by Dawn, and I think it may be a retired SU stamp, although I'm not quite sure right now. I popped up the center piece and used a dauber with Pacific Point ink to color the bottom part. I also used Purely Pomegranate paper and stitched ribbon. Ronda was cut and embossed with the a die from Labels Two. The white dots are adhesive ones that I got at the dollar spot at JoAnn's. Oh, I also followed the sketch from Taylored Expressions, but I flipped it to accommodate my image.

That's about it for this challenge. I hope you pop over to the
Copic Colour Challenge blog and play in our color challenge this week! The other DT members have done a fabulous job again with these colors! It sure would be nice to see some of you over there. I know a lot of you are playing around with your copics and this would be a great challenge for you! And we have a fabulous prize for one lucky winner...a Father's Day stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! So come on out and don't be shy! Thanks for stopping by!

Copic Colour Challenge #9

Great colors this week for the Copic Colour Challenge #9, but a little challenging for me. I'd been putting this off until the very last minute because I just wasn't sure what I was going to do with them! But I think I made it work with this great Whiff of Joy guardian angel stamp called Matthew. I colored him with the three challenge colors (and some others for shading). He also is **SPARKLED** up with a Sakura Clear Star pen. I put some on his wings, hair and overalls. The red dp is from SU's Washington Apple and the green circles are from their retired Jersey Shore dp. The base is Always Artichoke. I tried a few things to accessorize this card, and finally gave in to the buttons. They were the right color and I just used some orange floss to tie them up. The layout is from a Paper Makeup Stamps challenge a while ago, but I had to turn it to accommodate my image. I really like the way my image fits this way.

I hope you can play the Copic Colour Challenge this week. We'd love to see your creations with this color combo. Just link your card with Mr. Linky so we can all see it and comment. Remember, you don't have to use all the colors and you can substitute, but you must use copic markers. Hope to see you there! Thanks for stopping by!

Copic Colour Challenge #8

This week, the Copic Colour Challenge #8 is being sponsored by Toodles and Binks. Each DT member was graciously given a stamp from Toodles and Binks to showcase this week! Thanks, Toodles and Binks! I was given this cute fairy called Celeste. I just love how regal she looks!

This week's colors were perfect for her. Although I have to say that I made a mistake with the green...I thought it was YG97, which I didn't have, so I used YG95! Totally blanked on that one, but I only used the green on her little shoes!

I used the Paper Pretties Weekly Challenge Sketch for this card. It's a larger card that measures 5.25" square. The base is SU's textured Wild Wasabi and the dp is their Raspberry Tart. I accented it with their retired Purely Pomegranate. The pearls are Hero Arts and I colored them with the RV29 copic marker to match. I love this copic marker technique. You can perfectly match any of your embellishments to your card. Lauren Meader just posted a video clip about this technique here that you might enjoy watching if this technique is new to you. The corner pieces were done with a Cuttlebug die that I always forget I have. I thought this image was deserving of a fancy flourish such as this! Celeste is glittered up with diamond stickles and the star on her wand was glittered with yellow stickles. I like the sentiment from PTI's Mixed Messages set. It sort of looks like Celeste is about to grant a wish to someone! Oh, I hope it is me...I could use more stamps, Celeste! LOL!

Please stop by the Copic Colour Challenge blog and enter our challenge. Remember, if you don't have all or any of the colors, you may substitute. We just want you to have fun and post your creations! Thanks for stopping by!

Copic Colour Challenge #7

So what do you think of this week's colors for the Copic Colour Challenge? I chose them and I love them! Brown with pink or blue are my all-time favs! When I looked through this new pack of Basic Grey's Marrakech paper I knew exactly what colors I wanted to use this week!

This bunny is Posing Bunny from High Hopes. Isn't she sweet posing with her Easter bonnet and that cute tail? I ended up putting liquid applique on the tail and sprinkled it with glitter before heating it. The brown dots in the corner of the image are self-adhesive candy dots which I picked up at my LSS. The ribbon is SU's retired groovy guava which matches nicely with the cameo coral paper. I used Jen de Muro's sketch for this card.

Well, that's it...pretty simple card to explain. Don't forget to hop on over to the Copic Colour Challenge blog and see what the other DT members have for you. I hope you can play in the challenge, too! Thanks for stopping by!

Copic Colour Challenge #6

It's Wednesday and it's time for another Copic Colour Challenge! Did you see the colors? RV04 Shock Pink, R20 Blush, and E31 Brick Beige. Well, I immediately thought of an ice cream cone! I'm always thinking of sweets! LOL! Well, this is my interpretation of the colors. Not much coloring going on, but I think I used eight different colors on this little image (you can see all the colors I used in the Recipe below).

The image and sentiment are both by Amuse, and I actually had to buy these! All the stamps I own, and not one ice cream cone! After coloring it, I added stardust stickles to the ice cream. The Shock Pink is close in color to SU's Pixie Pink and matched well with their Sweet Always dp. I ran the pink paper through the swirls cuttlebug folder. The sentiment was punched with SU's new scallop oval punch, which will be available on April 1st in their Occasions Mini catalog. I also used their eyelet border punch. The chocolate chip corduroy button was threaded with some pink floss. Pretty easy card, except it took me two days to decide on a layout, which I'm not totally thrilled with. I think the polka dot dp needs to be layered on a piece of cardstock...it just looks lost there to me! LOL! Oh well, it is what it is! Thanks for stopping by and please drop in on the Copic Colour Challenge blog to see the awesome cards the ladies on the DT have come up with for this color scheme. I hope you can play along! I'd love to see your creations!

Copic Challenge #5

Hi everyone! This week, we have an Inspiration Challenge on the Copic Colour Challenge blog! Chris chose this awesome painting. I know there's a name for it with the three panels, but I'm going blank right now! Here's the inspiration painting. Can you see all the possibilities with this one? I still have another technique I want to try with this inspiration, but it may have to wait until later. This is my interpretation of this piece.I am so hooked on these fairies from Paper Makeup Stamps, it's not funny! Now I know how my friend, Cheryl, got hooked on the Tildas! LOL! These are just a blast to color! This fairy dancing in the rain is Emma. When I saw the inspiration piece, I immediately saw the great colors...red, blue, beige and light yellow. I started with that and colored my image. This image was done a long time ago when we were first given a look at this painting, and I had chosen my dp, Boxer from Basic Grey at that time as well. (This image was stamped on PTI white. I later noticed the dp was printed on cream! So I just sponged some Creamy Caramel ink over the top to tone it down so it matched better.) I just yesterday put it all together, because I wasn't sure what I was going to do from there. I thought that the other interesting thing about this painting were the panels, of course. So, I cut three pieces of the dp to mimic the panels, but had to mount them in the opposite direction to accommodate my image. I wanted a big flower, but with a little more interest. I have been seeing people using jewelry-making pieces on their cards and picked up this silver thing...I don't know what it's for, but I thought I could put something in it. This glitter dot fit perfectly and I layered it onto two primas. The sentiment that goes along with this image is also from PMS called Dance in the Rain. (The nice thing about the sentiments from PMS is that they come in a small and large size. Love that!) I couldn't fit it on the front, so it had to go inside, but I found this Embrace Happiness sentiment from PTI's Mixed Messages. I liked the two paired together. Here's the inside of the card as well as a closeup of the flower. I should have glittered up the flower, too!

Whew! Long post...sorry about that! I was never good at summarzing a story! Well, that's it folks! Please stop by the Copic Colour Challenge blog and play along! You have all week to enter your inspiration creations! Thanks for stopping by!

Copics Colour Challenge #4

Are you ready for another Copics Colour Challenge? This week we have a great color combo chosen by our DT member Karen. She chose BG13-Mint Green, Y08-Acid Yellow, and V06-Lavender. Great choice, Karen!

When I went to my color chart, I realized I didn't have BG13...so I called my LSS, Buffalo Stamps & Stuff, and they came through for me with the last BG13! Thanks, Sharon!

When I put these colors together on paper, they matched really well with PTI's Aqua Mist and Plum Pudding. I used SU's Summer Sun for my mat on the image. Speaking of the image, isn't she just the cutest fairy? She's Elle from Paper Makeup Stamps, a fairly new company. There are eight fairies so far in her line and I have them all, that's how much I'm loving them! You can see them used on cards
here and here on my blog. Elle looks like she is ready for Easter! When I saw these colors, I knew Elle would be the perfect choice!

I used several copics in addition to the Challenge colors to get all the shading just right. They are all posted in the Recipe below. The dp is PTI's from the Guidelines collection. I ran the Aqua Mist layer through the D'vine Swirl cuttlebug folder. It had the same sort of whimsical feel to it as the image had. I also used PTI's satin swiss dot ribbon in Aqua Mist and Plum Pudding. If you have never purchased this ribbon, I'd say get it! It's fabulous and is so soft to the touch! So worth the price, too! The flowers started out white. I didn't have flowers that matched, so I colored the flowers with BG10 and V06 copic markers. That is what is so fabulous about these markers...you can color virtually anything with them to match your project. I saw Linda Duke from Linda's Works of Heart color a piece of ribbon in seconds recently! So this means I need more white flowers! I added shimmer to Elle and the flower with Sakura's Clear Star gelly roll pen. Here's a closeup of the flower so you can see how this pen really shimmers and how well the flower took the color!

Well, that's it for me today. Please stop by the Copics Colour Challenge blog and play this week.
To play, all you have to do is enter a card on the Copics Colour Challenge blog using these colors (BG13, Y08, and V06). If you don't have all of them, use what you have, but you must use copics! Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to see what you create!

Copics Colour Challenge #3

Hi everyone! Well, the day is finally here...my first day on the job as a member of the Copics Colour Challenge Design Team! (Can you tell I'm excited?)SmileyCentral.comI think I'm going to have fun on this team! Most of the girls (with the exception of myself and Chris Dickenson) are from the UK! They are a very nice group of girls that I hope to "meet in person" someday! (You can stop by their blogs...I have them listed on my sidebar.)

Anyway, on with the challenge! It's a sketch challenge this week! It's one that had me stumped at first, but I think I managed to pull it off! Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:I had to pull out my drawer of unused stamps for this one! This is an oldie but a goodie from Great Impressions that I got eons ago! I don't think I ever used it because I never knew how to color it! Well, let me tell you how much fun I had coloring it now! I actually colored it twice...the first time on white paper for a "practice" run and then on cream for the "real" one. And guess what? I liked the "practice" one better! But, it was on white and it didn't look good with the dp choice! So, look for it another time as I will be recycling it! I used various copic markers (see the list in the Recipe below) to color the image. Since I LOVE sparkle and shine, I added some using a Sakura gelly roll pen in Clear Star. I shines so nicely when the light hits it. Here's a close-up of the image. The dp is a fabulous design from Graphic 45 called Botanicabella. These colors are so me and "spoke" to me when I saw them in my LSS, Buffalo Stamps & Stuff! They are so rich and beautiful! The ladybugs are also stamped on some paper from the same line. The ladybugs are from the Inkadinkadoo clear set called Patterened Bugs. I chose them because there's a little ladybug on one of the pots in the image. The paper and grosgrain ribbon (from SU's Sale-a-bration catalog...I HAVE to get more because it's so gorgeous!) are So Saffron. I also sponged around the image with So Saffron and Creamy Caramel inks.

Well, that's all folks! Thanks for letting me gush! I do appreciate it! Don't forget to hop over to the Copics Colour Challenge and see what the other girls have come up with...some pretty cool cards! I hope to see your creations over there too! You have all week to upload you card to Mr. Linky and you could win a prize, too! Anyone can play (even if you don't use/own copic markers), but you can only win a prize if you use copic markers. Hope to see you there and thanks for stopping by today!

New Challenge on the Block!

I stumbled upon a new blog when I was surfing a couple of weeks back and it's a copic color challenge blog. I love to color with copic markers and thought this blog was so interesting. It's called the Copics Colour Challenge, and they'll be posting copic color challenges weekly on Wednesdays! If you love to color with your copics, hop on over and check it out!

Today is their second color challenge and the colors they chose are: B02 Robin's Egg Blue, R05 Salmon Red, and YG23 New Leaf. These colors paired up nicely with SU's Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, and Ruby Red. I started with this week's Mojo Monday sketch. As I was pulling all these layers together, I wasn't sure how I was going to make this work, but when it was all finished I really liked it! I colored the watering can with the B02 marker, the frog with YG23 and the flowers with the R05. I did add a couple of other shades of the green and blue to get some shading. The centers were also colored with a copic, but then I added yellow stickles because I LOVE bling! I even added bling instead of brads! The vertical ruby red piece and the turquoise layer under the image were run through the swiss dots folder. The dp is from SU's retired Ginger Blossom, and the ribbon is a $1 find from AC Moore. The sentiment on the outside is from PTI's Pond Life. I thought that sentiment sounded like "Hippity Hop...Get Well", so that's the sentiment I went for on the inside with another piece of the dp. Another one done and it's time for bed! Don't forget to try out this new challenge! It's a different spin on the color challenges! Thanks for stopping by!
Recipe:
Stamps: A Flower for All Seasons (SU), Pond Life (outside sentiment), Lizzie Anne Designs (inside sentiment)
Paper: PTI white, green galore, tempting turquoise, ruby red, Ginger Blossom dp (retired SU)
Ink: Adirondack black
Copic Markers: B02, R05, YG23, B00, YG11, W-1, W-3, Y17
Accessories: Swiss dots folder, bling, ribbon, scallop border punch, dimensionals, stickles, circle punches
