Hello Autumn - CAS(E) this Sketch #291

Hello Autumn!  It's getting a bit cooler here, and my summer flowers are starting to fade.  I have to swap them out for some fall mums.  I love autumn.  It's my favorite time of the year!

I also love leaf stamps. I have several, and this one is a new layering one.  There are four different layers for each of the leaves, and three for the acorns.  It's a Catherine Pooler stamp set and I used inks from her line as well.  The main panel was die cut with a stitched rectangle, then I used a frame die that cuts this skinny little frame from the main panel.  I used the same die on some rust color glitter paper and inlaid it into the main panel.  There's some shimmer on the top leaf also.

I used the current layout from CAS(E) this Sketch.  I just noticed my sentiment is misplaced.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #451 - Photo Week

Hey friends!  Don't you love this photo Nancy picked for the Just Us Girls Photo Week challenge?  I just love it and was so inspired!

Of course I had to use an Altenew floral layering set for the flower!  I looks very much like it, and I see some of the JUGs design team used it as well!  I stamped it in tiara, bellini, and coral cabana inks from C. Pooler (in that order too).  Then I stamped the outline in black.  The leaves were stamped in garden party and lime rickey C. Pooler inks (in that order as well).  Then I chose this gray (it looks lilac) checked pattern paper from Lawn Fawn and layered it on the card base.  For the white middle piece, I stamped it with black ink and a script stamp.  That piece is on craft foam.  The middle of the flower has Star Dust stickles on it to mimic the center of the flower in the photo.  I added the sentiment and some Nuvo drops.

I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.  It was perfect!

CAS(E) this Sketch #231

Hey friends!  I've had to make a sympathy card for a friend's sister who recently passed.  She loved daisies, so this is what I made and sent to my friend and her nephew (it was his mom who passed).  I die cut this daisy, one in each size, and layered it.  I also die cut the yellow center and green leaves.  I mounted the flower on this pretty gingham pinked square.  It's hard to see, but I used a diamond shape impression plate on the white mat.  The sentiment was stamped in Versamark on a yellow banner and embossed with white powder.  This whole panel was spritzed with shimmer spray.  I love the softness of the shimmer.

I used this sketch again from CAS(E) this Sketch.

Just Us Girls #403 - Photo Week

Hello friends!  It's time for another challenge over at Just Us Girls and this week is our Photo challenge.  Look at the fun summery photo Bobby chose.

I started by stamping this watermelon image from an older Stamp-a-Faire PTI set.  It's a three-step image.  I stamped the leaves/rind in green, then the meat of the watermelon in red, and the seeds in black.  Then I pulled out a scrap of the red check pattern paper and die cut a pinked edge square.  Once that was done, I took a piece of watercolor paper and used the same green ink to paint a square-ish splotch on it, big enough to accommodate the checked piece.  I layered this on top of a black banner which grounds it.  I stamped the sentiment and added sequins.  There's glossy accents on the seeds and shimmer on the watermelon.

I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.

CAS-UAL Fridays Challenge #175 - Use Pattern Papers

Hey friends!  It's time for another CAS-ual Fridays challenge.  This time, we are breaking out the pattern papers.  Dust them off and get them on a card!
No automatic alt text available.
I have to admit that I have TONS of pattern paper that I just don't use anymore!  So this challenge was great for me to get out some paper and use it!  I love the colors in this pack.  The top is from the pack and it looked to plain, so I ran it through the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The sentiment from Wallflower was stamped with navy ink onto a matted oval die.  That horizontal piece was pinked with an edge die.  I stamped the flower from Pretty Posies and die cut it with the coordinating die.  I added sequins to finish it off.

You can see more from the CAS-ual Fridays team on the CAS-ual Fridays challenge blog.

I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.

Just Us Girls #390 - Photo Week

Hey friends!  It's Photo Week over at Just Us Girls and Chris has a fun photo for us to use as inspiration!

Here's a larger photo for you to see all the details.

I saw the pattern on the rug and the black, red, yellow combination and that's what I used as inspiration.  I stenciled the background in yellow and added a panel stamped with circles in the red, black, and yellow colors.  I mounted that piece onto a black piece of cardstock to frame it and sprayed the card with shimmer spritz for some pretty shimmer.  Sequins finished it off.

The girls over at JUGs and our April guest have some fabulous designs to share with you.  Stop by the JUGs blog and play along!

I'm playing along in a couple of challenges.  It's been a long time since I've done that!

Just Us Girls #357 - Color Week

Hi friends!  I'm the hostess at Just Us Girls this week for our color challenge.   I saw a box at Hobby Lobby a while ago and loved the colors and wanted to use them on a card.  The box was white and had aqua and kraft triangles on it.  So those are the colors I chose.

This is the box I saw that inspired my color choices.

I wanted to incorporate the triangles on that box and here's what I came up with.  I used a triangle background stamp and some aqua ink for the bottom part of the card.  I used a vine die as a border and stamped and die cut the flowers and leaves.  I stamped more aqua flowers and added the sequins and the stacked thanks die.  I also added some white dots on the flowers with a white gel pen.  For some shimmer, I used a Spectrum Noir crystal clear brush.

I used this week's CAS(E) this Sketch as my layout inspiration.

MFT Camp Create Day 3 - Inlaid Made Easy

Hi friends!  I'm participating in MFT's Camp Create and I'm a day behind again!  My hubby and I went to a movie this afternoon.  We saw Nice Guys with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling.  It was really good!  It was at the cheap shows (only $5 for the two of us!) and we weren't sure if it was going to be good or not, but we really enjoyed it!

Back to stamping!  This  challenge is called Inlaid Made Easy.  I love inlaying die cuts!
Print

I took out the Jumbo Mod Borders stamp and stamped it twice in two different colored green inks.  I used the Misti to stamp each color a couple of times and to line it up straight.  Then I die cut the word thanks from it and some fun foam and inlaid it back into the panel.  I stamped the sentiment on the bottom and added enamel dots.

You can see the die cut a little better here as well as the shimmer I added to it.

I used the sketch from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.

Here's my badge for this challenge!

I'll hopefully be back tomorrow with the last two days of the MFT Camp Create challenges!

Happy Wedding Day - CTS#179

Hi all!  We have a wedding to attend today, and of course I had to make a card!  I wanted an elegant card and gold embossing means elegant to me.  The paper I used, even though you can't see, is an ivory shimmer paper.  I embossed the sentiments and leaves and die cut some flowers that were stamped.  I added sequins and put the main panel on fun foam.  It's much prettier in person!

I used  this week's CAS(E) this Sketch for my starting point.

Just Us Girls #366 - Photo Week

Happy Saturday!  This week is Photo Week over at Just Us Girls, and Nancy has chosen this really cool seaside birthday cake as inspiration for us.

I honestly don't have many stamps with shells and starfish, but I did find this Dockside stamp set from WPlus9.  To start, I inked up an old background cheesecloth stamp from SU in Kraft ink and stamped it off before stamping on the white layer.  Then I stamped the rope in the Kraft ink as well.  The focal image was stamped and die cut with a pierced circle die and matted on a blue die cut piece.  That was mounted on craft foam for dimension.  I stamped the sentiment at the bottom and rounded the bottom corners before adhering it all together.

I followed this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch, but had to put my sentiment at the bottom.  I hope I don't get thrown out of the challenge!

Just Us Girls #333 - Word Week

Happy Saturday everyone!  It's Word Week over at Just Us Girls, and Maria has chosen what I think is going to be a popular word...Flowers!  Everyone loves flowers, right?

While this card looks simple, it took a couple of tries to do that banner panel!  Don't ask!  I stamped, colored with copics, and die cut that flower.  Then I die cut the banner and stamped the horizontal image, the leaves (which were stamped off before stamping on the banner to get the right color) and the sentiment.  The flower was added with dimensional tape.  I added sequins and star dust stickles on the flower center.  The white panel was embossed with an embossing folder.

I took my color palette from this week's Color Throwdown.

And my layout was from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.

CAS(E) this Sketch #160

Happy Sunday!   Well, today is the last day of my vacation...it's back to work tomorrow.  I've had fun creating cards almost every day this week, though!  Today I'm sharing a card with a couple of new stamps.  I inked up the distressed stripes background stamp in three colors to get the ombre effect.  I masked off a couple of stripes so I had a place for the sentiment.  That piece was too big, so I cut it down and added the black stripe.  I stamped and die cut the balloon image and colored it with copics.  That piece was added with dimensional tape.  The card base was impressed with an impression plate (I think it's a canvas plate).  I added enamel dots and there's Wink of Stella on the balloon.

I used this week's CAS(E) this Sketch for my layout.  I veered slightly from the sketch...it's similar to my card from yesterday, but the main panel follows the layout.   I hope they don't throw out my entry!

Thanks for stopping by!
