This wonderful album I bought at a flea market in my hometown many years ago. Early in the morning when the sellers began to sell their stuff the early bird LP collectors gathered around the first stalls to purchase the rare stuff. Next to me standing was a local record shop owner doing his thing and I had already picked the Burning Spear LP "Marcus Children" out of the LP rows, but that record shop owner got this very album "Pure Horn" in his hands that was like magic to me, while Burning Spear's is more like fine. So I asked if he would exchange albums with me and he did so. 

At home the record sounded fantastic having this deep Channel One Ossie Hibbert production sound featuring his distinctive percussion mixing. In those days I bought a lot of reggae albums but sold them soon after to get some money to buy food and smokes, so a few weeks later I went to a local seller to sell some of my LP's to him. Though this one was the favorite of my latest purchases I included it to a bunch of about ten records to be sure to get enough money and at his home he first played some of them to check for the quality. Side two of this album started up with the intro of "Brandy" and immediately I got goosebumps and regretted selling the record that was so special to me, but he said "sold" and it was too late to call the deal off. So luckily now we have here a fine FLAC version at Kingston Roots blogspot.
