I belong to the Cross Stitch Nation

Started way back in May 2018, over the recent weekend I finished the last bit of stitching on the Cross Stitch Nation. I actually started this when Hannah and I stayed up very late watching Harry and Megan's Royal wedding.

This chart is by the Heartstring Samplery and I used my favourite fabric, 32 count vintage mocha Belfast linen and most of the recommended threads. I did use more than one skein of the Week's Dye Works Red Rocks thread.

I'm thinking I might turn this into, wait for it...... another project bag!

This Week

Two neglected projects from 2018 have come out of my stitching basket this week.

Hannah has been learning some more kitchen skills, this time she made Beef Mince Pasta bake for dinner one night.

Glenn has been busy too. As well as getting started on getting firewood ready for winter, he has laid our new laundry floor tiles and also grouted the tiles. This coming weekend the scotia and boards under the cupboards and units will go in, and then it next up will be the laundry sink plumbing and installation of our new washing machine.

Our sunsets have been incredible this week!

Santa Sunday, New Start & More Project Bags

My latest #santasundayxs project is finished - Hallelujah by Little House Needleworks.

I stitched this on 30 count straw linen by Weeks Dye Works. This is a restitch of this design, having stitched this chart when it first came out.

Next up is a new start which I got underway while Hannah and I were watching the Royal Wedding on Saturday evening. It was late night for us, watching right through until 1 am but Hannah and I had fun with a sleepover in our lounge.

Cross Stitch Nation by Heartstring Samplery:

Over the past few weeks I've been playing around with some new fabrics to sew up some more project bags.  I couldn't resist this cute emu fabric!

Lots of fun that's for sure!

If you want to make some for yourself, I used the Primitive Stitcher's You Tube tutorial for the emu bag, which you can find here.

For the vinyl zippered bag, this time I followed a tutorial by Calico, which you can find here. These bags are quite addictive, I've already got the fabrics, etc cut out for three more bags!

F is for Friend

Last week I caught up with Clare and she gave me the most gorgeous belated birthday present - well worth the wait!

You might recognize this as a project by the Heartstring Samplery, and it was an exclusive design for the Silver Needle's Stitching Circle of Friends club. I didn't join this last round but Clare has continued with the club.

I just love it! Clare has finished it so beautifully too.

Clare also included a little Seam-fix which she bought on her trip to the US late last year and the most loveliest pattern by Lynette Anderson. I'll be on the hunt now for some suitable fabrics for this cute organiser! So spoilt, thanks again Clare xx
