Santa's friend

Some of the ornaments I have stitched on this year have started arriving at their destinations, near and far.  Most years I stitch ornaments all year around so I have a little collection to gift to my family and friends in December but this year for some reason or another, mostly extensive house renovations!!, a lot of these were only stitched in the last few weeks. I'll try and be more organised next year!

Anyways, over the next week I'll be sharing some of my 2017 ornaments.

You may have seen the sweet Lizzie Kate ornament I recently received from Andrea in the UK, well, here is the ornament I sent to Andrea.

This is Santa's Friend by the Snowflower Diaries from the 2016 Just Cross Stitch ornaments magazine. I stitched this on 40 count linen using the recommended threads.

For the trim I chose some Lady Dot Creations chenille in Sizzle. This trim has become my favourite to use and I have used several colours this year. I purchased several colours and styles from Crazy Annie's.

See you soon xx

A new start and some sewing

Hello there
I hope you had a good weekend. Ours was low key - we had a very sick little girl at the end of the week, yucky tummy bug, but she has bounced back to her usual happy self and couldn't wait to get back to school today.

I decided that it was time for a new start this week - this particular chart I've had kitted ready to go for months, intending it to be a gift for one of my close friend's little girl's first birthday back in March! I love the simple and sweet colours used in the design.

I recently put the finishing touches on some sewing I'd done back in May,
Made into small wall hangings, it's an easy way to finish off smaller stitched designs.

Go the All Blacks - our little rugby girl supporter watching the All Blacks vs France on Saturday night :)

Happy crafting :)

A Few Finishes

Hello there

Well, my holiday week has nearly come to an end, it has flown by - I knew I should have taken next week off too, lol.

During my break I've been stitching a little thank you gift for my Aunty, who has looked after Hannah for us since she was 6 months old.  Hannah will still go there in the mornings, as I start work just after 8am,  and then again after school, and during the holidays too. She's quite happy about that as she's already missing her little daycare friends:)

I also finally finished my friend's birthday gift recently:

Flowers for You by Blackbird Designs
stitched on 36ct linen using most of the recommended threads

My next little finish was a design I couldn't resist starting when I first spotted it, a freebie from the gorgeous Snowflower Diaires Blog:

You Are So Loved
stitched on 32ct cream linen, threads of my own choice

My mum asked if I could knit some little hats for one of her friend's baby twin grandaughters due in a few weeks, this is the lovely wool she chose and it was so soft and lovely to knit with.

Some happy mail arrived the other day too, Gail Pan's new Christmas stitchery book.

I purchased this from Sarah at Quilt Fabric Delights and she arranged for Gail to sign my book, how cool is that!

Sarah also included this cute project card from Leanne's House

Have a fun weekend!
see you soon xx
