Christmas 2015

Well here it is, the start of a brand new year - 2016! I send you all the warmest wishes for a year filled with lots of fun, love and laughter and many happy stitches too of course!

I've been meaning to share a little of our Christmas celebrations for the past couple of days but seem to be caught up in holiday mode and haven't quite made it to sit at the computer, apart from looking at my favourite stitching and crafting blogs!

What fun we had over Christmas this year! Lots of happy times with our family, and I was so thrilled to spend time with some of my cousins I hadn't seen in a few years.

We had a lovely day, spent with both sides of our families, lots of wonderful food and some great pressies.

On Boxing Day we took a trip up to Hastings to check out the sales. We were hoping to find a good deal on some outside furniture, which we did, and find a couple of other items. Poor Hannah, it's quite exhausting shopping the sales!

So now we are enjoying the slow holiday days and early next week we are heading away on our annual summer trip to Taupo - can't wait to spend some time chilling by the lake!

I'll be back soon to share some of the lovely gifts I received from my dear friends and the last Christmas project I finished on Christmas Eve.

See you soon xx

'Tis the Season

Like everyone else I imagine, the last few weeks have been filled with lots of happenings for us.
Lets start back at the beginning of the month:

Hannah sent off her Christmas letter to Santa

We were invited to the Hawkes Bay Girl Guide awards where Hannah was presented with a certificate for her Gold Apple Badge, this is the highest award a NZ Pippin can earn.

The tree was decorated and a few of our other special Christmas treasures have been placed around the living room.

I enjoyed a lovely day out with my work friends in Napier - might have done quite a bit of shopping! And that carrot cake was delicious by the way!

The local Christmas parade was held on a very very hot day a few Saturdays ago and this year Hannah was involved with the Girl Guide float. This year's theme was Around the World so all the Pippin and Brownie girls wore uniforms from around the world, Hannah was a Canadian Spark girl and her little friend Molly wore the unform from Malta, look at that cute crocheted beret!

Hannah has just loved being involved with Pippins and then Brownies this year, and last week the finale was held at one of our local parks - a sausage sizzle, treasure hunt, games and then a slip and slide for all the girls. Well, I haven't laughed so much in ages watching all the girls making their way down it!!  Hannah had a ball. What great fun for everyone!

This past weekend my stitching friends came for dinner Saturday night and we had a really entertaining evening catching up with one another. Looking forward to our stitching afternoons in 2016 already!
