Fabric Santas

Look what I've made, 8 log cabin Santas, all set for gifts later this year.  I've had this tutorial on my Pinterest board for absolutely ages. They did take a bit of time - ironing, cutting and sewing, but I happily sewed away watching Netflix or Floss tube.

A good way to use up some of the Christmas fabric in my stash - don't worry, there's still plenty more. They did turn out a bit larger than I thought they would but you could sew less of the log cabin rounds to make them smaller.

See you soon x

Prairie Point Star Ornaments

Something a bit different to share today - over the recent weeks I have been making these Prairie Star ornaments at my weekly sewing session with my craft buddies.

They are made from 5" squares of fabric, which you fold into points and then attach to a small stuffed round circle.

I followed a tutorial I came across on Pinterest which can be found here.

See you soon xx

Red Stitching

Hello friends

I thought you might like to see what I've been stitching on lately - some of the blocks from the "Tis the Season" booklet by Natalie Bird.

I've been planning to make up this quilt for myself one day, as a SAL with Kath and Clare, but these blocks are going to be made into little gifts.

I'm using one of my favourite DMC threads, 321, and although you can't probably tell from this photo, the fabric has a lovely swirly pattern to it.

There's something very relaxing about this red stitching - I'm getting quite addicted! I've stitched another four blocks since taking this photo. I found a very cute sampler here, which I've also traced out ready to stitch soon.

Bye for now x

'Tis the Season ready to go

One of the local quilting shops had a sale recently so I decided to take a look at the fabrics. I had been puzzling over what fabrics to go with for my 'Tis the Season project for a few months now, as Kath and Clare would both tell you, I've had long discussions with them about it :)

Remember how I like polka dots, well, that's what I decided to base my fabric choices on, and once I'd chosen my DMC thread too, the rest came together quite easily.

It's going to be "bright"!  I can't wait to get started on my first stitchery block :)

Have a happy day xx

Christmas Gift Sharing

This morning I thought I'd show you a couple of the handmade gifts I made. I had a few others planned but didn't quite get there with my good intentions, lol. Maybe next year :)

This "Mrs Perkins" (pattern by Melly & Me) was given to our niece Alice -

Another "Mrs Perkins", this time for our friends' little girl, Abigail -

A stitcher's wallet for Kath, made in Kath's favourite colour -

with a little cross stitch on the other side - Petit Chat, a freebie by Tralala. I stitched this in Kiwi Belle Soie thread.

Another wallet for my friend Wendy. Wendy does lots of paper crafting so I thought this may come in handy for storing all her bits and pieces.

On the other side, I stitched Blessed are the Pure in Heart by Little House Needleworks -

I received a few crafty gifts myself from friends so I'll be back tomorrow to share some pics :)
Bye for now!

Felt Reindeer

As well as more of these, I've been making up several of these cute little reindeers. These are for Hannah to give to each of the children she is at daycare with at Christmas time.

I found this pattern at Day to Day, a wonderful Australian blog I came across recently that is just jampacked fill with lots of craftey goodness and inspiration.

Enjoy your day :)
